The Tech Academy is the best education experience I have had. They start you off focusing on the basics in the beginning of the boot camp and build you up from having little to zero tech experience, to becoming a strong software developer. The staff are very friendly, supportive, and will do anything they can to help you succeed. The courses are well designed and have clear explanations on tech terminology, coding keywords, and code lingo. Their staff want nothing more but for you to succeed in your future endeavors! I highly recommend this boot camp for anyone trying to get their foot in the door in the IT/Tech industry.

I had a great experience here learning to ode. They have a really good program with varied programming languages. The best thing I liked about it was that their instructors were available 7 days a week.

I wanted to write a quick review of my experience with the Tech Academy so far. I am very happy with the approach that they've taken, which is one of laying in very basic concepts which are gone over and over and added to at a very appropriate speed. I found the explanations of concepts I previously struggled with to be very simple and they actually got me to the point of understanding. An example would be the binary and hexadecimal number systems. Wow, when I write those words, even just the words sound daunting, but after the explanations, you really get it and the importance of these ideas becomes clear when you get to the point of actually writing code.Writing code, even if the code you write actually works, is sort of a dead end if you can't understand why or how the code is working. You need to understand it all conceptually so that you can "think with the data" and not be a robot. And this last paragraph I've written here pretty much sums it up. I am starting to be able to think with the information I'm learning and utilize it in a creative way, and I'm certain that as I move along with my studies this ability will grow more and more. I'm very excited to continue in something that I now have confidence in learning about, which is going to be a a great enhancement to my ability to survive in this world, AKA getting a job and career in the tech industry. Many thanks!

This was a 6 month intensive covering what you need to know to get your foot in the door. It was worth every second! For someone who spends a lot of time on the computer, I figured the 40 hours/week for 6 months wouldn't be an issue, which overall it wasn't. But the last month or two is when I was really feeling it, and its nothing to scoff at. You will get a lot of information given to you one after another, so be ready to work and study hard!

As the Software Developer Boot camp description states, this is a program that will teach you a little about a lot. It was perfect for me as I wasn't quite sure what languages/frameworks I wanted to pursue initially. It covered many areas giving me the skills to land an entry-level position. The Python Live Project was a ton of fun. You get to work on a development team using Azure DevOps and Agile/Scrum. This is great for giving you an idea of what it will be like working on a real team once you have completed your boot camp. The instructors are great, but you have to be comfortable asking for help when you need it. Instead of giving you the answers outright, they will help you work through the problems so that you can ultimately solve them on your own.The Job Placement team is probably the greatest resource from this school. Forest holds a Weekly Roundtable where you can practice your soft skills as well as technical skills in a group setting. This is a great place to start especially if you are nervous about the interview process. Once you make it to the Jop Placement course, the team will review your resume and cover letters. Then you can set up as many mock interviews as you need to practice your soft and technical skills one-on-one. USE THIS TO YOUR FULL ADVANTAGE!Pros:- Good Spread of Topics and Languages Covered- Flexible Hours- 2 Live Projects involving your own code and working with legacy code- Remote Option Available- Incredible Job Placement Support- Everyone from school is kind and you can tell they truly want to help you succeed- Weekly Tech Talks that are informative as well as an avenue to start Networking- They understand and stress the importance of building your Network vs Relying just on online applications- Knowledgeable and Relatable Instructors: Many have been through the boot camp themselves and know what you are going through.Cons:- Not for you if you want to deep-dive a specific language- ZERO Test-Driven Development- Not enough hands-on C# in the C# Live Project- Online Curriculum only has pre-recorded lectures- Online Curriculum has some out of date videos (Caused some confusion during some follow-along assignments)- Front-End (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) consists of too many follow-along and copy the code assignments. I find this a hard way to retain concepts.- Too much emphasis on the volume of applications sent vs. taking your time to research and setting yourself up to hear back from companies that mean something to you. My experience thus far with The Tech Academy's Software Developer Bootcamp I started looking for a Bootcamp whilst still in high school as I would be graduating early and wanted to jump right into a post secondary option. I wanted to enter a dignifying field without the outrageous student debt, and pointless electives of college. I found that coding a was a perfect choice for me. Not only is it one the highest demand and fastest growing positions as of now, but also a challenging and engaging one. To top it all off a college degree isn't exactly required to land a job, and you can learn the necessary skill set from a coding Bootcamp. Which lead me to my search for one. After hours and hours of searching and calling I read about an award winning Bootcamp named The Tech Academy. I called in and talked to one of their very friendly student admission's staff. She gave me confident and honest answers to my questions and was not pushy in the least bit. Eventually I decided this Bootcamp was right for me. The courses began with a brief intro and some history of The Tech Academy. It then went right into teaching the basics of computers and other greatly informative facts about history of computers. Even after the first couple of lessons I felt so much more knowledgeable on the subject. The following courses helped me understand some of the basics of building software and how to read binary. After getting a firm understanding of the fundamentals I immediately starting learning HTML and CSS. Then soon after the course had me learning JavaScript and SQL. In such a relatively short amount of time I've learned so much already. The staff at The Tech Academy are very responsive and approachable. If your looking into starting a Bootcamp I would highly recommend writing down some questions and giving them a call to learn more. From my personal experience I have 0 regrets and I am very glad I chose The Tech Academy. Thanks for reading,Joseph

After doing extensive research of all the boot camp possibilities, I finally decided on The Tech Academy. It was an absolutely amazing decision. The courses are very thorough and easy to follow. They include 2 live projects to build your resume and portfolio, and it mimics a real-life scenario of working on a development team. At the end of the entire program, you complete a job placement course in which you are given tips and tricks for building your resume, cover letters, and assistance with technical interviews. I highly recommend this program. It was a great decision.

I loved my time at the Tech Academy. After leaving my previous job at the beginning of COVID I was searching for a way to advance my technical skills with a remote learning option. Tech Academy was doing remote learning long before the pandemic, while other boot camps were just starting to adjust. The curriculum included many of the top programming languages and I liked the self-pacing.
I had previously been a computer programmer for about 6 years, but it had been about 10 years since I had written any code and I wanted to refresh my skills to improve my job prospects. The Tech Academy did exactly that with the Full Stack Software Developer program. Throughout the course I remembered why I loved computer programming and looked forward to each day of course material. When I encountered challenging sections of the course I always felt supported by the instructors. I especially enjoyed the final two-week team projects and felt sad that it had to end; kind of like going home after summer camp.
I will be honest and say that the course is inadequate on React, and the Django section proved somewhat frustrating, but overall a really good experience. Be prepared to put in at least 40 hours per week at the computer or you will fall behind, as I did, and need to pay more money to finish the course.
The job placement course and alumni support are outstanding. It can be tough to get a job out there right now, but the guidance they give, and the weekly meetings really help to prepare you and keep you motivated. The placement team called me more than once per week to provide feedback and encouragement.
Four months after finishing the Bootcamp I landed a job at Amazon as a Senior Technical Product Manager. Although I had previous coding experience on my resume, the course did refresh my skills to help me get a coveted position at an A tier company. The Tech Academy course material is relevant for the current job market and I would say the background education they give at the start of the course was helpful, especially during the system design and technical interview questions.

I came into this with zero experience and to be honest a bit tech-resistant. I am proud to be a Tech Academy graduate of the Full Stack Software Developer bootcamp with the base knowledge of what it will take to make the next steps to a wonderful new career. You will get every bit of what you put in and more, out of The Tech Academy experience. They are a wonderfully supportive team. Without any previous coding experience and little network knowledge, I was curious how this would play out. I can only recommend The Tech Academy to anyone I come across who might be even a little interested in technology and the wide world it encompasses. The instructors have helped me through many roadblocks to understanding the how to and implementation of so many concepts that I feel they have done their job exceptionally well. I can find the resources to learn what I need to accomplish for new projects and new technologies. No matter your age, background, or even like me if you can’t type well yet (I can now!), this is such a well executed program that sets you up for success. So many success stories close to home show I can do it too, and again the amazing support system all the way through to job placement has been a top notch experience! You got this!

As a current student of the tech Academy it’s an awesome school to be a part of, the instructors have spent hours helping me whenever needed and the course work is fairly easy to understand, they take a “build from the ground up” approach which is very helpful to someone with no prior background! Would recommend!

The Tech Academy is an amazing school that works with whatever schedule/ financial plan you have to ensure you obtain your goals as a developer/ coder. I knew hardly anything to do with tech and now I'm a full- stack developer in less than a year. The team and staff are all helpful and know what they are doing. No matter what level of knowledge you have in tech thus school is the right fit! You won't regret it!

This is truly a bottom up learning experience. When they say that you don't need any coding experience to start, that is not a marketing gimmick, it is very true. The way they have their curriculum set up is the very basics at the beginning but as you progress, the material becomes more difficult and in-depth. The important thing to know is that although you will be challenged, you will never be overwhelmed. Instructors are incredibly responsive and are rooting for you the entire time. They want you to succeed as much, or more, than you do. By the time you graduate you will not only feel that you are ready to take on a Junior Developer role, but that you are capable learning anything that you set your mind to. If you are shopping around for a boot camp, please take a good hard look at this one. You will not regret it.

I really don't have a lot to say but one thing I know is that the Tech Academy is the best Bootcamp out there. During my time at the Tech Academy, I learned a lot; they got a lot of drills to help you be a better developer, they support you every day even on weekends. After I graduated from the Tech Academy, I have been working with the job placement and they are doing some amazing jobs to help me get to my goal and land a job. I will say don't look further just apply for this Bootcamp you will not regret it

The Software Developer Bootcamp was a great option for me. I enrolled mid-March just when the Covid pandemic hit and I'm so glad this program was self-paced. I was able fit in studying when I had time especially with kids home full time. You need to be self-motivated to get it done. I especially enjoyed the Live Projects which were intimidating at first but once I got the hang of it it was great to learn what it's like to work with a team of developers. I highly recommend The Tech Academy.

I really have nothing but good things to say about my whole Software Developer boot camp experience! I was listed as a mostly remove student, but I did occasionally visit the Portland Campus when I could, and help was available when I needed for either approach. My favorite part was the live project, it was an excellent simulation on what software developer life could be like and the live project instructors are excellent at pointing you in the right direction when you need them. I chose this particular boot camp as it was the robust considering the material, and with starting from the most fundamental of lessons, I truly feel I am well prepared to contribute as a junior software developer. One of the other aspects as to why I chose this boot camp over the others, was the support they offer during the job search. I learned valuable skills that won't just start me out, but that I'll be utilizing as I travel throughout different career pursuits.

The founders know what it takes to make it in this industry and you get to utilize that experience while intimately personalizing your development. It takes focus and determination to master the courses, however, these are a couple of the core competencies you’d need to be a professional developer. The learning here is multiple levels deep. Learning inception! They teach you how to think like a developer, not just develop. It a lifelong skill and signing up for this industry is signing up for a life of learning. There’s no better place to start than at The Tech Academy. “Any fool can write code that a computer can understand. Good programmers write code that humans can understand.” — Martin Fowler
