Online Software Developer Boot Camp (full-time)

I had a great time at The Tech Academy. I loved being able to go at my own pace, the instructors were very helpful and responsive, the job placement assistance is great. The live projects gave very good experience with working on a real codebase as well.

I started out by attending the Web Developer Boot Camp (front end) .  Upon completion, I decided to continue my studies and add the additional modules for The Software Developer Boot Camp (full stack).   The total time for full completion was about 5 months.  The Tech Academy has a bespoke Learning Management System (LMS).  It is well thought out and following it will methodically move one through the program.  It entails well-written definitions and summaries of technology concepts, video tutorials, exams, and assignment submission and review tools. Since I live in Portland, I initially visited the Tech Academy Office to do my studying, but I soon found out that I could be just as effective by studying at home, so I did the majority of my studying as a remote student. The instructors and all the rest of the staff were great and very responsive to questions and willing to help.  This program is definitely not "easy"; it is extensive and will require many self-learning study hours.  Don't expect perfection,  but with the right attitude, dedication, and focus, one should be able to succeed.Overall, I am glad that I completed the program.  The learnings and knowledge obtained will help me as I move forward in my career in technology.

I had a pretty good experience in this boot camp, I learned the fundamentals of the program languages I learned and it was really cool . I did take a leap of faith trying to do this online, I wanted to do it in person but that was during the whole pandemic, If you're like me that does well in a in-person/class setting it may be hard to do things online but that's just me. I had a couple instructors I really liked and were willing to help were pretty good and help break things down. It was slightly a struggle towards the end of the course when the time zones changes. being 3 hours behind makes a HUGE difference on my end..but The Tech Academy is a really great place to learn your fundamentals.

I attended this bootcamp for 6 months as a Software Engineering student and this was HARD! But the academy, even though sometimes I did not feel as though I was grasping anything I soon found out as soon as I graduated and was free to do what I wanted and what I wanted to learn they, in fact, did help me learn and create a foundation in helping me to better understand this new tech space I'm now apart of.

I came into the program with no coding experience. In my time as a student I was taught many important fundamentals on hardware, software, and even how to code with no prior experience. The Tech Academy took a chance on me without any issues. I enjoyed my time as a student. The courses are demanding and get more difficult as you progress. The instructors are great! Very knowledgeable. Always happy to help. I am happy The Tech Academy took a chance on me. I'm so happy I found them. I am prepared to enter the workforce as a Tech Professional and Full Stack Software Developer.

I was a student in the Software Development bootcamp. During that time I learned the foundations of Python, JavaScript, C#, SQL, HTML, CSS, Django, .NET, and version control. Personally, I liked that so much was covered because now that I am job searching I see many languages and frameworks that I at least have a basic understanding of. The Tech Academy was self paced which was new for me but I am very happy with how it turned out. I was able to progress well and also take time off if I needed. There were a string of days where I got the flu and needed rest, and I was able to do that and not fall behind. The instructors are very help both before and during the live projects. The live projects were later in the bootcamp and were a great hands on experience that I will be able to talk about in interviews and build upon.Pros:Compared to many bootcamps, TTA was cost effective.Self paced curriculum allows you to take time off if needed.Friendly and helpful instructors/staff.Cons:I was a student in Eastern Standard Time and they are based in Portland, Oregon. However, this was rarely an issue. I only had 4 or 5 instances where I got stuck first thing in the morning over a 5 month period. 

Fantastic instructors, friendly and kind, helpfulLive project, you get 2 depending on the course you take and they are real world coding experiences where you work with the instructors and other students.The curriculum can be strenuous however it gets the job done right and teaches you what you need to know, sometimes through text pages and other times with videos giving you a look at what you need to do

I tried 2 other boot camps before this one and in my opinion the tech academy is by far the best.

The Tech Academy combines a group of diligent, thoughtful, and genuine instructors with a curriculum that is very easy to understand and challenging at the same time. I will recommend this school to anyone interested in learning software development but doesn't have any prior knowledge of the field.

I had a great boot camp experience with The Tech Academy. I did my coursework online from home and this allowed my life to be much more flexible. However, that flexibility also made it difficult at times to have the motivation to complete the coursework. Other than my own motivation issues, the boot camp has a lot of good content to learn from. The curriculum had a lot of small projects to work on and had great explanations of topics. The only downside to the curriculum is the beginning part of the boot camp, as that can be a slog to get through if you already have some knowledge to draw from. The live projects were my favorite part and are fun, but challenging projects. The instructors are great, they respond to messages/questions very quickly and they also keep in contact frequently to check your progress. The rest of the staff do a good jog of resolving any issues and are very helpful.

I had an amazing time learning at The Tech Academy. I went from knowing nothing about coding and software to feeling confident in that field with a job in that industry. You get out what you put in. If you put a lot of effort into this bootcamp you will get a ton of knowledge out.

This was an amazing experience. The instructors were amazing, responsive, and compassionate. 

I feel I learned a lot, and whenever I had trouble, someone was available to help me within minutes.  I thought the live projects, support staff, and job search support were fantastic, and the statistic that roughly 87% of graduates are hired programming careers is a real plus.

THis was a wonderful expeience, though challenging. The staff here a supestars. And this school wants you to complete the course. I would surely recommend this school to everyone wanting to learn coding. Or further their education.

I had a great experience with The Tech Academy. I did the Software Developer Bootcamp and came out of it with significantly more knowledge and confidence in my coding than I had going in. Each course was thorough and had projects that I could put in my portfolio. The job placement team was also extremely helpful in my finding a job a couple weeks after graduation. 

 Wow, great experience; I love every single time during my Bootcamp. Best teacher and they really help you achieve your goals. After I graduated, I almost give up but the job placement mentor really helps me a lot and prepare me to get my dream job.

The Tech Academy was everything I had hoped for. I enrolled with the intent of switching industries, but before graduating I was offered and took on my dream job in my current field. In any case, The Tech Academy helped me find a passion for coding and I plan on coming back to the tech industry in the future. This was definitely time and money well spent.I completed three of their boot camps in total: Software Developer, UI / UX, and Data Science. You will be able to land a job if you closely follow their Job Placement Course and listen to their team.
Pros:Friendly environment, understanding staff, hands-on and real world experience, amazing job support, self-paced curriculum, flexible scheduling; you'll walk away with valuable life skills for any industryCons:If you already know and understand computers pretty well (ie if you've built your own), the first couple of courses might feel slow, however there is still new information in the courses to be gained. Not necessarily a con, but since the school is at your own pace, you need to be self-motivated to stay on top of your study time.

I really enjoyed my experience at the Tech Academy. Everybody from the administrative staff to the instructors are really helpful and want you to succeed. I learned so much during my time at the school and the first two courses of every boot camp offered are extremely helpful if you're completely new to coding/programming world. I have tried other online learning resources and non of them match up to the instruction and guidance you receive at the Tech Academy.

My time at the Tech Academy was great and it made me into a developer.  I love how they start the journey from the ground up, teaching the fundamentals of how computers and the internet work at the base level, laying a good foundation for learning to code. Going through the curriculum, I got hands on experience in different programming languages where I created cool programs, and learned many new things. The instructors, job placement, and everyone at the Tech Academy are very helpful, motivated, and are interested in getting you the most out of your experience. The Live Project was my favorite part, as it resembles an actual work environment, and gives you the confidence you need to know you can do this at a professional level. The job placement course might be the most valuable course in that it gets you ready to get that first tech job, which some say is the hardest part. The Tech Academy breaks getting a job in tech down to a science, and provides you with the best information, everything from writing your resume, and building your online presence to reaching out and applying, to mock interviews and coding challenges. And the Tech Academy does not just let go of you once you're done. At the end of your boot camp, you keep in touch with the school until and after you find a job. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to get started in a technology career. 

I must admit, when I decided to change careers into software development I was skeptical of the bootcamp structure and it’s promises to teach you so much technology in a short amount of time. However, I can verify that the Tech Academy delivers on all of it’s promises. The courses were very in depth, and while I did not learn every single piece of technology available I was given something much more valuable: the ability to think like a software developer. The course is challenging and pushes you out of your comfort zone, fully preparing you for a real world experience in the industry. 
                The staff does a great job at being available, responsive, and providing great feedback. They work hard to make sure that you have the tools you need to succeed. I enjoyed the projects included in the bootcamp, and the live project experience is very challenging as well as just fun. Gaining experience in a real development environment was a fantastic experience, and gave me the confidence I needed to begin the search for employment.
                Upon completion of the bootcamp, you are not just left to your own devices to wander aimlessly and find employment. The job placement course provides you with a ton of resources, and the job placement staff is truly in your corner. They stay in contact regularly to provide feedback on your resume, send leads, help me polish your skills, and truly work to prepare you for success. I had a great time working through my boot camp and would definitely recommend this school to anyone interested in learning software development!
