Yellow Tail Tech is definitely not a tech "Boot Camp". It is a school. A Real school. Students are in class, encouraged to ask the professor any questions, and build a great two way communication relationship just like in a university. My experience has been very pleasant. The staff has been very supportive and encouraging. 

Yellow Tail Tech helped me have a more flexible schedule, without sacrificing my finances. I was working as a flight attendant and our schedule was chaotic. The perks of traveling anywhere is nice and rewarding but when you have a family already staying at home is something I really want. My husband is working in an office so we have to ask my mom to take care of our two kids, which worked out until she suffered a mild stroke and I decided to stop flying.I learned about Yellow Tail Tech from my friend who’s husband is studying in one of their programs. I looked into their website and since I was kinda desperate to do something I booked a session with them and enrolled. It was a swift process that by the time I was studying the Linux for Jobs program and months had passed already I never really expected that here I am at cert prep.What a ride! The whole structure is perfect! I like how the teachers handed down the modules and how easy it is for us to reach out to our instructors especially if we have questions. Since I’m preparing for my certification already, I’m confident that after I pass and do the internship, Yellow Tail Tech will still be there for me to assist me in everything.

My previous work was in a gas station, it’s my way of helping out my parents, and since I’ve stopped studying already I have to get other side hustles to provide for my personal needs too. I’ve always been fascinated by the world of IT and it’s like a kid’s dream for me working in the IT industry but I just had to let it pass.I never really thought that I could be studying IT or working in it because looking back I have no idea how I could finance myself but one time my uncle visited and asked about my future plans, what I loved to do, I told him about IT and he then introduced Yellow Tail Tech because his friend is studying there. He offered me a loan and that’s it I just enrolled in their Linux for Jobs program and put in everything I’ve got. The good thing about Yellow Tail Tech is that I can still do some day time jobs because classes start at 7:00 PM which is really convenient. I like the fact that we have review sessions every weekend too. I’ve always told myself that when I get in I have to really focus because this is it, this is my first step. I’m very thankful to all my teachers because they’ve been great at everything - support, giving tips, the lessons were handled in a way that everyone can really understand and you can ask any question.Yellow Tail Tech has given me the opportunity to really learn something new and apply it on real projects. I'm so glad that I was able to start this journey through Yellow Tail Tech! I'm so grateful that it all turned out well for me. Now, I’m working from home and the journey that I had from just a nobody to what I am now is really something.

I was working as a bus driver for 10 years, and I wanted to change directions in my life. It’s tiring you know, driving everyday and to be honest it became boring. All I do is drive from one destination to the next. I’m sure this is not the thing for me but I’m scared of jumping into something I’m not familiar with and failing. I don’t want to be a bus driver until I die. A friend told me about Yellow Tail Tech, and I never imagined myself learning IT. In fact I told my friend that at my age IT should not be my next career target, but when I saw the interviews on their website of people like me who had no background in IT, it made me want to learn more—so much so that I signed up right away.It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. I'm so glad that I enrolled at Yellow Tail Tech. The instructors are not just the best they go above and beyond for you. I mean you will know if someone wants the best for you or if they’re just doing their job. At Yellow Tail Tech, the instructors, teacher assistants and the whole team wants you to succeed. I mean it’s a learning platform and a support system at the same time.Now, I'm working from home as a Linux System Administrator. My boss is extremely impressed with my work ethic and knowledge base, which is clear evidence that this job is making me happier than ever before. I really recommend Yellow Tail Tech to anyone. They’re the best.

I want to make a change in my life, but I find myself stuck between two careers: one that pays less and another that pays well, and is flexible enough to allow me to grow professionally and personally. Of course, the latter would be my obvious choice right? But I was still hesitant because of the number of scammers I hear and see on the news. I did some research on bootcamps but nothing stood out until my cousin told me about Yellow Tail Tech, he said that his friend who was a nurse before is now working remotely in an IT company. I was like wow, that’s amazing. So I went to the Yellow Tail Tech website and I saw the students that were successful because of them. It’s been three months since I started the program and I am very very glad I did. It was amazing learning new things and the teachers were very friendly and very engaging too. Our lead instructor is Zee and I’m very grateful for all the guidance he has given me and the rest of our class. If I had to make a decision of whether I should shift to an IT Career I wish I did it sooner. I thank myself for not passing on this opportunity, I’m very excited about what's going to happen next. I would really recommend Yellow Tail Tech to anyone who wants to have a change of pace and a career in IT.

All the teachers were excellent—they made sure that every student understood what they were learning, so when it was time to take the certification exam all of us were prepared. I was so shocked that all the questions from the cert prep ( when we were still preparing for the red hat certification) were in the exam like 95% of everything we studied were there. Yellow Tail Tech also helped me polish my LinkedIn profile and resume and we also did mock interviews which were so awesome. I couldn't make it without them! After 2 months of sending resumes and answering interview questions, I actually received 3 job offers all offering remote work. I’m glad I chose Yellow Tail Tech and I’m so happy with my growth both in my career and personal life.

I have been working as a machine operator for the past five years and I have seen many changes in the industry, especially during the pandemic. I also observed that during that time many workers decided to work from home and because of that there is an increase in hiring people from IT. It didn’t really cross my mind to be an IT professional. I was just jealous of those people who were able to earn a higher salary while working from home. I saw an ad for Yellow Tail Tech on my way home from work, and I thought it would be interesting to learn more about what they do. When I went to their website, I was impressed with their high-quality content and student community. They really do prepare students well for the job market after they graduate. The program structure is very excellent, especially for people with no IT background. I really like the way our teachers explain things because I can understand them clearly and they don’t just teach you, they also motivate you. It’s true what they say that if you work hard you’re going to succeed. When I passed the Red Hat Certification Exam I was so happy, my teachers and classmates were also very happy for me and that’s what I like about Yellow Tail Tech, we’re like a family.After a month of interviews and job search, I was able to land a job and the salary was very competent. The best thing about it is that I received two offers from different companies. Yellow Tail Tech is highly recommended by me if you want to learn new skills or get ahead in your career!

I worked as a boutique employee before I enrolled at Yellow Tail Tech, the curriculum was very well-curated and taught by top-notch educators. In my class, David was our lead instructor and he was just the best! There’s so much fun in class, we don’t just learn but we converse like we’re all friends that have a common goal. The program structure really helped me all the way to the cert prep and it’s true what Jubee said from the very beginning if we focus and follow the steps they provided we would get the job.I especially like the fact that I can communicate with my classmates all the time because we have a slack channel so every time we have some topics we don’t understand we can send it there and our instructors are also on the channel so they can comment or give feedback as well. I also like that everyone, especially the staff, not just our instructors, is very encouraging which makes me more motivated to learn.It’s been 6 months since I landed the job and I’m very happy about it. I worked hard and I got what I wanted. Learning at Yellow Tail Tech was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. I would encourage everyone who wants a career change to learn at Yellow Tail Tech.

I have been in the Linux for Jobs program of Yellow Tail Tech for a couple of months at this point. I have learned so much, and it has helped me tremendously, especially for my future career.The program is very well organized and the instructors are great! They do a great job of making sure that everyone gets a chance to speak and ask questions. The classes are very well structured that you can really get to know your classmates and instructors, and they are also organized in such a way that it doesn't feel like you sit around all day doing nothing.I really appreciated the message that Jubee was telling us and what the school is all about. It wasn't just about getting me a certification, but getting me a career, starting me off, and doing the right steps. That was exactly what I wanted out of my education as well as my career path.
My experience so far has been fantastic! My instructor is wonderful, he goes above and beyond to help each student succeed no matter where they are on their path toward learning or working toward their goals. Classmates are great too, we all learn together through our discussions in class. I learn a lot every time I’m in class.

Yellowtail Tech has a great beginning program for those who are looking to pivot into IT. There are other self taught programs and bootcamps available, but I chose Yellowtail Tech because of the opportunity to learn from professionals in the field. The instructors explain things very thoroughly and they're great people who genuinely care about your success. They're also very relatable because they come from backgrounds that are non-IT related and are alumni of the very school that they are teaching. The course work may seem intimidating at first, but if you stick with it, keep asking questions and practice, it'll become very easy to grasp. Yellowtail also has an awesome network of alumni, career success coaches and TA's who are ready to answer your questions when you have them. They also have built a great community amongst the students and Instructors, it feels like a second family. 

 Title: I don't know enough, but just the way they're taking me throughout the program, I believe I'm made to succeed: I don't know where to start. The experience is just overwhelming. When I came in with Yellow Tail, the first day in our course, we had this brief review with Jubee and it was about the program that those that are here have been selected and are chosen and we are made to succeed. So when the program started, my instructors were so professional. They listen to everyone's problem very keenly, and they even put in extra hours to assist those that have difficulties. I am a good listener, so when I listen, I take notes, but some people are smarter than me, and so when I have issues, I always go back to my instructor after the class and I always listen to them, they are always willing to help, to listen and to assist. So, my class has been very exciting, and I have really gained a lot from Yellow Tail Tech because I never knew I could go so far, right now what I can do in Linux, I never knew I can do it. And there are a lot of things in Linux that I also need to know. I don't know enough, but just the way they're taking me throughout the program, I believe I'm made to succeed. At the end of this program, I think whatever the case, I will never regret it. I will not. But first of all, the aim of the program is for me to know what Linux is. They don't really care much about you being certified. They care much about you understanding what Linux is, and once you understand it, having a certification is not going to be difficult. You're going to just go into it and pass it. Right now I'm ready to take my certification after just three months of classes. There is nothing in Linux that will be above me because I know where to get the resources, I know where to get assistance. I know how to ask my questions, and I know how to communicate the IT language. So there is absolutely nothing in IT, specifically in Linux, that I will not be able to handle, right now. In just three months! It's not like I've been in the program for six months. It's three months, April till today, August, is like three months. My instructors are high-level professionals, and I envy them because I just wish I should have been in their place. Because of the way they handle the classes, they make it a little bit easy for someone to assimilate, even if you have no clue in Linux, or in IT. Riky is something else like he's that person. He smiles all the time, but he gives you the real thing. So if you come in to play with Riky, he'll play with you. But if you come in with seriousness, he's going to give you what you want. So thank God, in my class everybody is a joker and everybody wants to learn something, and Riky had it hot, because when he explains certain things and people are like, what's this? Riky will say, oh man, last class I said this. So he always goes back and forth to make sure that we are on the same page. I just love that dude. He told us that during the internship, he's going to make it difficult for us. I'm still waiting to see that because he's not that kind of person that he plays a lot, and the classes, his classes were so amazing. Now in IT infrastructure, if we talk about things like subnetting, I can give you whatever you want with subnetting, because he's so good at it. And I love the way he took the class. He was so serious, and even though he was playing, he was so serious and he made sure that we covered all the loopholes. And right now I'm good at IT, especially in IT infrastructure, building, connecting the routers to servers, and all that stuff. That would have made the class really interesting and I just love his assignments. His assignments were really enriching and they taught me a lot, because I spent hours on hours, and slept at 03:00 AM at times just to complete assignments. So if you come to Yellow Tech, please be ready to work because it’s not a place for someone to come and sleep. That's what I will say. Thank you Yellow Tail Tech, I will forever be grateful to you.

My experience at Yellow Tail Tech has been an awesome experience. This program has been well thought out. There's evidently been a lot of preparation and real thought put into it, which makes it different from all of the other little programs. In other programs, you get in there and you don't know anything by the time you're done and you’re still just as confused as before you started. What I also love about the program is that there's never just one main instructor. You get two or three different ones, and what's great about having a variety of teachers is that what you may not get with one, you may understand with another. And it doesn't mean that one is presenting great while the other is not -no, it’s just they present it in different ways. So even if you don’t get it the first time you’ll surely be able to understand it the second time around. The modules are also set up in a structured manner. And the thing that I love is the fact that they advertise, "Hey, if you want to break into IT, you've never done IT, here come." I've seen a lot of programs say that, and then when I get in there, I'm like, "Okay, I get this because I've done some courses, but I know somebody else won't get this." The modules really are broken down from A to Z. You start with the building blocks, and they give you the basics. It’s not like having a bunch of topics getting thrown at you, but it’s given to you in a very consumable way. I don’t want to say spoon-fed but it's given to you at a pace that you can consume it, digest it, understand it, and then move to the next thing. I always say that any program that can keep my attention, has done a great job. It’s very engaging. The key is to always practice. You got to practice the things you learn because they give you everything. I'm excited and nervous at the same time to get to the exam because once I get to the exam, that means I can go to the internship part. It's great. It keeps you going, it keeps you motivated, and it gives you that drive. Cert Prep is my favorite part. I like the way it’s presented and I like the speed that we’re going. You have to make sure that all the things you need to know you have put in your memory. That’s why practice is very important. As soon as they said cert prep was the start of the week, I don't know what happened. I'm even more hyper-focused now. It was crazy. Also, they gave us t-shirts, I'd wear those T-shirts anywhere. I want somebody to ask me about it so I can be like, "Yellow Tail Tech. Let me tell you what it's all about. "What I would love, I hope as the years go by that they'll even branch out and offer other courses. Not just Linux, but maybe one day start offering courses like cybersecurity. I love how they got AWS, and they got the Linux thing, but if they can set it up and have everything the way this program is set, that would be great. I'd recommend it to everybody. Everybody, do Yellow Tail Tech.

As a student at Yellow Tail Tech, I was impressed by the fact that this program is very organized. I have been through a previous training and I really appreciate that they're very organized. That all the information is already given, and I think people need to appreciate the fact that everything is handed to you at your hands and all you have to do is revise the information. The experience I had previously, it's more like you got to go out there and research information, but then what's the point of trying to look all over the place for information if they provide you with information that’s right in front of you. What I appreciate the most about Yellow Tail Tech is how organized they are which makes it easier for me to focus.The team is really knowledgeable. They're ready to answer all questions and I think overall the process, how Yellow Tail Tech handles teaching others, I think they make it as simple as possible so I do really appreciate that.I'll give a shout out to Allan. I think Allan is probably like the gold mine for Yellow Tail Tech, and the only reason why I'm saying this is because he seems like he has a lot of patience when it comes to answering questions. He will take the time to explain to you the material and if you have any questions, he will explain it to you. I think that is the big takeaway out of all of that. From learning from nothing to something, because not everybody is on the same page as Allan when answering questions.

Overall the program is great! I feel like the instructor that is currently teaching is extremely knowledgeable and knows how to explain the concept has simple as possible. The material that they provided feels like they have everything that you need in order to learn Linux, its not necessary to go to external sources to find the answers you are looking for. They provided everything in front of you and this school is definitely worthwhile for a career change.

I’ve had several years of experience as Windows Admin prior to Yellow Tail Tech but I’ve always been so curious about the Linux System. When I entered the program, I didn’t expect it to be so intense and challenging but at the same time rewarding. You gotta put in a lot of work so be prepared to study and practice a lot. The best thing about Yellow Tail Tech are the people, my fellow students who are very diverse and the instructors who put in a lot of effort to help you in every step of the way. Allan, Thierry, and Zee are the most attentive, cool-headed, knowledgeable people I know. I’m currently in their RHCSA Prep Program but I can definitely say I’m confident enough to take the certification exam and I couldn’t do it without Yellow Tail Tech.

 When  Yellow Tail Tech was introduced to me by a friend, I was already working at Amazon in the Network Deployment Team. I was pretty skeptical about it because I've been taking some courses from other platforms and programs which turned out to be unbeneficial to me.I gave Yellow Tail Tech a shot because I've been hearing a lot of great things about it and when I started the class, I easily felt its difference from the other programs that I took. So far, I'm already applying some of the skills that I acquired in my day-to-day job.The Instructors were very patient with us. They provide great education from their experience as professionals in the field. The recorded sessions were the most helpful for me because I can go back to it whenever I need to and it always feels like I'm in that class again.I really appreciate Allan, our lead instructor, because he gives every single one of us a chance to ask questions and he would really take his time to explain it to you. He makes sure that you understand it before he moves on to the next and when he knows that you didn't get the topic, he asks you to stay after class to go through the topic again to make sure you're confident enough. What I also loved about the instructors is that they are very flexible to your needs. Whenever I'm too busy at work and I ask them if they can help me on the weekends, they were always there even on Sundays.The way they structured their program is awesome! It starts from the bottom to help people with no IT knowledge up to the end where every student can feel ready and well-equipped to find a job.All of my fellow students are fantastic. It is a great community of motivated people. They will make you feel like a part of a family. David, now part-time instructor, helped us a lot during the weekends.The money that I paid for the class is so worth it. I will recommend this program 100% to those who want to change their lives for the better.I am already eyeing an internal position at Amazon and I have Yellow Tail Tech to thank for that.Great job to Yellow Tail Tech's Team! 

I was working at Amazon when one of my co-workers transitioned into Linux. I was there seeing him as he entered Yellow Tail’s program, how he graduated, took the internship, and got a job in a span of months! His journey inspired me to at least try it and I’m so happy that I did. I’m really grateful for all of our instructors, especially Thierry, Zee, and Allan. These guys are the best! They’re the most knowledgeable people I know who helped me refine my skills in I.T. Can I also say how awesome the program structure is? It’s so well-developed and it’s constantly adapting to the changes in technology. This is definitely a huge upgrade to my knowledge in I.T. I am so happy that I took this step. My experience with Yellow Tail Tech has been really wonderful. I've seen other I.T. Companies or Bootcamps advertising, but something about Yellow Tail's advertising kind of drove it home for me. It really spoke to me and made me wanted to pursue Yellow Tail Tech.I've been training with them for 5 and half months now and my experience has been excellent as far as the materials, the instructors, the time frame that works around my job, it just all falls into place. I have enough study time, enough classroom time, and nothing is interfering with my day-to-day life. Also, I'm learning a new skill so I give Yellow Tail Tech, two thumbs up!The Instructors that I have are Certified Red Hat System Administrators. They are very knowledgeable and they teach from real-world experience. They don't move forward with another project unless you're getting the concepts and if you have problems, they organize reviews on the weekends that you can attend so you can catch up and learn those things that you might have had difficulties grasping.The structure of the program is very straight-forward, they start you with the basics then you build-up from the basics. The program is really user-friendly. They take it slow for you so you can digest these new information and concepts. I'm really pleased and happy with it.  Right now, I'm on the Certification Prep Program and I'm really confident because I've been doing a lot of Certification Practice Exams. With the training and knowledge that I got from Yellow Tail Tech's program, it doesn't matter which exam I pull online, I'm able to answer the questions with confidence and with ease.I'm very confident that once I complete the certification prep program, I will be passing that exam with the knowledge that I've gained.All thanks to Yellow Tail Tech!

I thought working in Windows and Help Desk was the end game for me until I saw Jubee's video The Biggest Myth in I.T. I got curious and did more research about Linux and the last thing I knew, I was already enrolling on Linux for Jobs and since then, I couldn't be any happier with my decision. What I instantly noticed about Yellow Tail Tech is that they select their student applicants well and you'll easily see how it benefits the students because once you enter the program, everyone's motivated, all of us are striving to get a better career. It's so much better working in a great environment like that backed up by quality support from our instructors.  I was already in Network Administration but I thought I wanted to grow further.It was pretty hard for me to switch my career but Yellow Tail Tech helped me turn my fear into confidence.
At first, I doubted myself and failed my certification but I tried and worked harder thanks to the support I got from Yellow Tail Tech and the 2nd time I tried, I was able to pass and look where I am today: I received a offer from FBI as a Linux System Admin with 145K a year!I gave my family financial freedom doing something that I enjoy and that's what my goal in life is!Yellow Tail Tech really changed my life.They helped me from start to finish. They provided an elective internship program and even backed-up their course with a Student Reimbursement Program where you will be refunded your full tuition if you do not receive an offer within a set amount of time after your internship, but you know what, in the past 6 years, they have never reimbursed anyone yet
