My experience at Altcademy has been pretty good. Although I don't get daily face time with my mentor, I can book office hours with him once a week and I can ask him questions on slack. The support is just enough to push me through when I run into a wall. The material is on the beginner to intermediate side, but it is more than enough to prep you to become an entry level web developer. There is a lot of studying, a dozen course projects and a couple final projects at the end that goes beyond beginner level. There is a lot of personal growth and improvement from taking this program. I would recommend this to beginners, but if you could take some free courses first, that will make your time at Altcademy much easier. Make sure you know how to get around your computer, if your desktop looks like a minefield, take some time to learn how to organize your computer first.

I already knew some HTML and CSS from some free coding courses on Codecademy, but the depth of knowledge in web development from Altcademy is a complete game changer. I learned how to create responsive websites from scratch. Learned to build full stack MVC projects with Rails and React. Handle image upload and storage on AWS S3. Integrate stripe checkout for payments. I learned computer science algorithms for job interviews. Built a capstone project for my portfolio. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn web development and want to change career. If you are just learning on your own without a mentor, and is struggling, really consider joining a program that includes mentoring such as this one.

I've been learning web development for a couple of years now, but I've always found my studies lacking structure and rigor. So I decided to give a bootcamp a try after hearing great things about Altcademy. The program adopts an incremental approach where you build up on your previous skills. This is good since there's no risk of overwhelming beginners with a flood of advanced topics. Although I am not exactly a beginner, but I can see this program as being beginner friendly. You learn all the major aspects of frontend, backend, API development while following along tutorials and working on projects on your own. You can ask your mentor for help when you are stuck, and the community is getting increasingly lively recently. All in all, a fully loaded program at a very affordable price point.

I went with Altcademy because I wanted to learn how to build fullstack websites and needed some guidance. It's hard to find a bootcamp that is online, self paced, has mentor support, AND at an affordable price. And what I love even more is that I am not just learning how to code, I am learning how to think and problem solve like a software engineer! Altcademy's curriculum is so thorough and clear. The mentors are very friendly and almost always available. The projects they designed helped me understand the different parts web development and how they all interact with each other. This alone has improved my confidence many fold.

Started this course a month ago after a long break from learning to code. The Flexible schedule and self-paced learning is what convinced me to join this bootcamp. The curriculum is challenging. You do need to put in some effort to learn. There is a lot of content to digest. If you can dedicate a good chunk of time outside of work, you can finish the course in 7-8 months.

Super rich content, their curriculum is amazing. Far more in depth than other free online courses. The mentors are helpful and smart, they know the content extremely well. I would be lost trying to learn on my own. I have only done very basic programming before, no website development experience.

I'm currently in the middle of the Full Stack Developer Course and I'm loving it.I have learned so much and I am already able to build useful applications for my professional and casual things. It's online, self paced, and affordable, what's not to like about it?

Before joining Altcademy, I read many reviews and compared their pricing with other similar programs. It turns out they were actually the most affordable. Then I compared their curriculum and support with other programs, the material coverage is very similar to the well known bootcamps. Altcademy provides less face time, but after contacting a couple alumni on linkedin, they said the included office hours were enough to last through the whole duration. Altcademy seems to be a middle ground between the more expensive bootcamps and the cheaper self-learning courses. I have now gone through 2 out of 7 courses of the program. The curriculum is beginner level and very well written. It has both auto graded assignments and more in-depth mentor graded assignments. Feedback from my mentor have been very helpful. I am really enjoying my time here.

My decision to pursue a coding bootcamp is influenced by a desire to improve my job prospects. I am working and don't want to quit my job to join a fulltime bootcamp. So I chose an online part time bootcamp to learn at my own pace and continue working. I am happy with this decision, I am now studying 15-18hrs a week, about 2 hours on work days, and 3-5 hours on days I don't work. I just finished the first course on HTML and CSS and I am happy with the experience so far.

I chose Altcademy for the price and the support. After studying part-time for 7 months, I am about 80% through the curriculum. It is really an amazing experience and I really recommend it to anyone who wants to learn web development but does not have the luxury to pay 10k or sign an ISA. My mentor is responsive, helpful and smart. The content is good, complete, and detailed. The exercises are fun and challenging. I am now working on the rails course and learning to build APIs. There is so much more to learn, but I now know what it would take and I know I can do it.

I am currently taking the fullstack program, and it is very challenging yet satisfying. I was impressed with the curriculum and can confidently say that they have one of the best content out there. The mentors are very responsive and helpful, which I really appreciate. Great experience!

I chose this course because I had a budget I had to adhere to. I really like that there are so many learning tools available for such an affordable price. There is an AI code debugger which is super helpful, a coding exercise platform, a Q&A platform with lots of questions from other students. The material is very beginner friendly, and I learned a lot of practical knowledge. There were a lot of exercises and assignments that really increased my understanding of the topics taught. If you are committed and put in the work you will learn a lot of useful web development skills.Pros: very affordable, beginner friendly, lots of exercises and assignments, online and remote, self-paced learning.

Before joining Altcademy, I had taken some online courses on JavaScript, HTML and CSS. It was a struggle going through most of them, and I lacked motivation at some point. So I thought it's time to buckle down and learn how to code. I also thought it's good to have some mentorship to keep me on track. My research led me to Altcademy. Overall, the program is great. I really like the way it is taught, and a flexible schedule is essential for me, so I can go at my own pace.

Overall, I am happy with my experience at Altcademy. There have been a few sections that have been difficult for me, but everyone was very helpful and supportive. Mentors are very knowledgeable, helped me get past my issues, and usually responded within a few hours of me asking for help. If you are not looking for something fancy, then this is a good place to start learning web development. They have recently launched an AI code debugger, it would have helped tremendously in my early days. I don't think any other bootcamps have this feature yet. So for this alone, it is a great differentiator.

I really enjoyed learning web development at Altcademy. The best part is the support from the mentors and the quality of the curriculum. The curriculum is updated periodically, and you will have access to the latest content no matter when you signed up.

I compared different online bootcamp options before selecting Altcademy, and they were mostly in the 10-20k USD range. I spent time going through Altcademy's curriculum, and their reviews, to make my decision. Altcademy's curriculum is almost exactly the same as all the other bootcamp's curriculum. I won't go into details about the curriculum as it is not something everyone needs to know. But the highlights are, part tutorials, part projects, and part exercises. Lots of exercises. Altcademy provides less live support than the more expensive bootcamps, but slack chat and 7 hours of office hours should be enough to get anyone through the whole program. There really isn't a need to shell out 10 to 20k unless you need that "job guarantee".

The Full-stack program at Altcademy is a really good balance between theory and hands-on practice. It provides a solid foundation in web development, and leaves enough flexibility for you to design and build the kind of websites you want to build.I finished the program with a strong working knowledge of the RoR and React stack. After the program, I joined an internship program at a local company, where I gained a lot of hands-on experience working on the front-end and back-end of a production project. I got a lot out of this program, and I would definitely recommend it to other aspiring web developers. If you are looking for a program that will teach you all the ins and outs of web development, and provides mentorship, this is the right program for you.

Altcademy is a bootcamp that allows its students work remotely and, on their time, and pace. The material is quite comprehensive and challenging at the same time, but it is worth learning. There are a lot of assignments and projects that you can use to improve your skills as a programmer and as an overall thinker. I think this bootcamp is best for people that want a career change without having to make any significant changes to their life. Whether they are a beginner or an intermediate, this bootcamp is for everyone.- Self-paced learning allows a flexible schedule,- Part-time friendly & Full-time friendly- Beginner-friendly- More affordable than other bootcamps- Being 100% online and remote

The Full-stack program from Altcademy provides incredible value. Their mentorship is what sold me, and it didn't disappoint. There were many times when I would be stuck on a problem and ask for help, and my mentor would solve the problem quickly and provide me with detailed explanations. They went beyond just helping with coding, they also covered other topics such as job search, resume reviews, mock interviews. It was the full package, and I found their advice to be very helpful. The program is well balanced as they help you build a full picture of how frontend and backend work together. The materials they provided were in depth, easy to read, and provided a lot of practical examples and exercises. The assignments were hard, but not so hard that it would drive someone crazy. There was a lot of learning involved, but it is worth it.

The program is professionally delivered and I am very thankful they are offering it at such an affordable price. I learned the skills needed to build standard CRUD full-stack websites, using react for frontend, and ruby on rails for the backend. There is a slack channel where I can meet other students and get help from mentors. I chose the personalized plan and was able to have live 1 on 1 sessions with my mentor. Towards the end of the program, I worked on a decently in-depth project with an idea of my own. There are dozens of other smaller projects that I built along the way. I use those projects as part of my portfolio and resume for job applications. I also learned some algorithms and data structure concepts at the end of the program, plus practiced on interview questions. They also helped me polish my resume and linkedin profile. There is a lot of content to get through, don't plan on starting unless you can dedicate at least 10-20 hours a week studying.
