Data Science Virtual Academy

This has been an amazing experience so far! I love the fact that I have access to my mentor weekly and there are posted office hours for coursework help. The Fireside chats have been invaluable, so far. I have gained so much insight into what potential employers are looking for and understanding what is important when applying for different roles. I am also excited that I will finish the program with at least two projects in my portfolio. I just can't say enough about this program. If you want to get into data science this is the program for you!

I had a wonderful experience with my Data Science Certification program that I completed in 2021. I signed up on a whim and started class the same day. I fell in love with the content and also became so comfortable with the mentorship and support. I was very limited with my tech capabilities because I was set in my old ways, and hadn't had experience even using Slack. Entity mentors put me at ease and held my hand figuratively through many times. I am currently interviewing for jobs, and I am getting responses and interviews. I can't apply to jobs fast enough because there are so many to choose from. I am a single mom of three in my mid 40s and I still finished it with great grades! I had such a great experience that I convinced my 20 yr old daughter to try it out, and she loved it too. It's been a great bonding experience, and she will be graduating next week!

Entity is a great school to be a part of. The flexibility and support allows for me to advance in my career goals and support my family. I love this program and recommended it to so many of my friends and family so that can also gain the skills required to join the tech world.

This is the only Bootcamp that I found that help with finding their students jobs after completing the program as well as making it affordable for those like myself that wouldn't have been able to afford any upfront $1000 or more deposit like that of other Data Science/Data Analyst bootcamps that I've encountered. Also, the program is just as challenging as any other bootcamp. Only issue I've encountered is getting help sometimes for assignments that are due the day of or after a certain time of the day; in addition, some of the textbook/lecture reading sometimes don't explain certain topics thoroughly and that's when the mentors come in handy when available. Overall, it's been a great program and I'm sure other bootcamp programs have their shortcomings as well but as least this one is affordable especially during a time where employment is hard to obtain.

ENTITY is proving me wrong. I started college as an astrophysics major at CU Boulder. I was the only Latina in my entire academic department. I remember going to class and feeling so isolated. None of my classes had more than a handful of other girls, and there were definitely no other Hispanics. My studies themselves were a huge challenge and although I wanted to pursue my degree, Imposter Syndrome, working to support myself, and the overall rigor of my major led me to drop out. I’ve looked back on that for years with so much regret because I had grown up wanting nothing more than to be a scientist.
When I came upon  ENTITY scrolling through Facebook, I immediately signed up for more information and before I knew it I was talking to the enrollment team. They told me about what ENTITY stands for and what they do for their students and I just fell in love. Having a support team like this is what I lacked at CU. I thought to myself, “This is going to get you in the door. You can still go into the sciences.”  I was approved for an Income Share Agreement and I dove right into the Data Science Program. Enrolled and bam! I started learning how to code. ME. CODING. I couldn’t believe it. The instructors at WOZ-U break the material down into tiny baby steps. Exactly what I need. I always thought of myself as someone who sucks at computers. But the instruction provided by WOZ-U and the resources and support of ENTITY have turned me into a whiz. I can’t wait to see where this road will take me. I have to provide a shoutout to ENTITY’s enrollment officer Andraya.  Before I enrolled she was a huge support and friend leading me through the application and enrollment process. Even now that I’ve been enrolled a few months, she still takes time to check up on me. She and everyone at ENTITY are game-changers. Thank you so much. If it wasn’t for ENTITY I would have lived my whole life thinking I wasn’t smart enough to succeed in STEM. And here I am a Data Science student studying one of the most obscure hard science fields out there and loving every second of it.

Entity has given me a great knowledge base. 

Because I have mental illness I wanted a program that holds your hands a little more than your typical degree program. Entity gives you the tools to succeed.

One of the best rewarding yet challenging experiences! You get what you put in and I’m happy to have the support of a stellar Mentor and staff. One of the BEST DECISIONS of my life!

I’m enjoying this experience wholeheartedly ! I am doing something I never thought I could ! The support and help that is provide along the process really keeps you motivated! I’ve been in my program about four months now and I really it enjoy it more than I expected. I like problem solving and my mentor is always available to help when I am confused or feel like giving up. The mentors really make the program without them I would’ve been so lost. I hope to be a mentor one when obtain all the knowledge needed. I would highly recommend this program.

It's been an adventure! I took a chance on myself to ignore the "I'm too old to learn something new" and enrolled into the data science course as to reinvent myself. The mentors are wonderful and are always there to help you out. The hands on assignments are real world situations and that is beneficial for creating a portfolio when you're done with the course. 

I love Entity Academy. It is perfect for anyone who has a busy schedule. Everything is online, the courses are very well written out, and the mentors are always a great help. If you are looking to upskill in your career, I would definitely recommend Entity. 

I started the program a couple weeks ago, but have felt part of the community for weeks now. There has been so much support and encouragement from the start of my journey with Entity and I have appreciated how it's encouraged me and made me believe this is something I can accomplish. The opportunities for meeting people in the field through Fireside chats is priceless and so helpful to receive insider information from someone actually doing it in real time. I am very happy with the program thus far and look forward to delving into my studies and what Entity programs have to offer. 

I've had a positive experience with ENTITY's Data Science program and would recommend it to anyone just beginning their career in DS. Before ENTITY, I had prior experience in some programming languages, such as R, SQL, as well as academic training in basic statistics. The DS program helped refine and build upon these pre-existing skills as well as ease me in to brand new concepts and software, like object oriented programming, Mongo DB, Jupyter Lab, and Tableau. The lessons are easily digestible and there are plenty of additional resources available if you want to go deeper on a particular topic. There are also instructors regularly available via Slack that can help answer any questions that arise. If you're interested in exploring the world of DS, ENTITY is a great place to start.

Sign up and getting financing is so simple and quick. Everything is done online and is easy to go though step by step. Everything is on your time. Work is due twice a week by midnight so there are no surprises. I enrolled in the data science program and worked with Julia my mentor. She was easy to reach and completely understanding. I had to have emergency surgery during the weeks of classes and it was a lot to deal with but the school worked with me and I was able to recover and still graduate without being kicked out because I was missing my log ins. After graduation mark in career services has been a complete dream easy to talk to and helps with resumes, CVS, cover letter, interviews and job searches. This program is great and if you’re thinking about just research and see if you want to take on these courses because it does take time and dedication 

I came across the Entity Academy's Data Science Virtual Academy through an advertisement. As a data analyst, I signed up almost immediately because I thought this would be a great opportunity to enhance my current knowledge and upskill in the process. While attending the academy, I had two amazing mentors that helped me the most. Whenever I was really stuck or had an issue with any assignment, they were extremely helpful and guided me through the process. During my final project, the instructor and one of the mentors offered a lot of support, guidance, and encouragement for me and my project partner to build confidence in our work. After the final project and post-graduation, I had tremendous help from Mark Gasche to hone and polish both my soft skills and resume. With his help and expertise, I applied for a Senior Analyst position and landed the job!!! Although I have a background in data analysis, computer science, and SQL, my newly acquired knowledge of Python, R, Tableau, and predictive modeling/machine learning helped push me over the edge!

Good course, comprehensive and easy to use. Someone always available to help when you get stuck.

I loved my courses!! I’ve always had an analytical mind and this came easy. The help from the mentors and support that was given helped to keep me motivated. Some of the course work needs to be updated but being able to ask a mentor if there was a problem was invaluable!! I would definitely recommend if you are looking to upgrade your resume and work.
