Data Science

Turing College's flexible model for supporting learners provides technical guidance and structure while allowing learning across a range of different backgrounds, needs, time zones and life schedules. At the same time, I enjoyed the cameraderie and motivation of working through the curriculum with a fixed cohort of learners. The system of fostering mutual learning through code reviews, by posting/answering questions on Discord, and informal networking definitely worked for me. This experience has made me realise how much of the formal education I previously experienced involved self-learning anyway, but with more logistical constraints.  All my interactions with TC staff as well as learners and STLs/JTLs have been very positive and helpful; I believe this is something TC actively fosters. Finally, I have been impressed with how TC has regularly solicited feedback from learners and implemented suggested changes during my learning journey. 

What I Appreciate:
The self-paced online learning format allows for flexibility and the ability to balance professional work.
The peer-to-peer learning and open sessions provide valuable shared experiences and the opportunity to guide others as a Junior Team Leader.
The strong community fosters mutual growth through shared experiences and problem-solving.
The program’s focus on career development is evident in the portfolio-building projects and the knowledge sharing by STLs and JTLs.
The availability of scholarships opens doors for many who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in the program.
Suggestions for Improvement:
As project difficulty increases, more flexible deadlines could be beneficial. Perhaps offering a ‘buy-in’ option for community service, such as peer reviews or forum contributions, could be considered.
The module resources could be better curated to avoid overlap, ensure comprehensive coverage of the topic, and realistically align with project timelines.

More than anything, I love the staff. They are genuine and good people. Their content gets better and better. They are interested in constant improvement. When you study at Turing College, although its remote learning, you study within a community. You receive guidance from other students, students who are ahead of you and from the staff. 

Studying Data Science at Turing College has been an outstanding experience that far exceeded my expectations. I find the curriculum well-structured and offering a perfect balance of in-depth theory and real-world application - accessible for beginners while providing plenty of opportunities for advanced learners to dive deeper. An exceptional feature of Turing College is the incredibly supportive community on Discord, where you can receive guidance almost 24/7 from peers and industry experts. The hands-on projects as well as expert- and peer-reviews has effectively deepened my understanding of Data Science and also broadened my professional network. I have found that this collaborative and innovative learning approch encourages knowledge exchange and mutual growth.I have also greatly enjoyed the flexibility to learn at my own pace - which is ideal for those with busy schedules, allowing for a nice integration of study and work. I truly highly recommend Turing College to anyone looking to advance their career in Data Science!

I had a good experience with the Turing College Data Science course. The learning materials were good and practical. The platform is user-friendly and helped me stay on track. The community was supportive and engaging. There were still some "growing pains" with a few minor issues, such as it being harder to get support as you progressed further in the course, but overall, it was a very positive experience. The path to data science wasn't always linear, but I'm incredibly grateful for the unexpected turns that led me here. After a rewarding 1.5 years at Turing College, their guidance was instrumental in helping me develop a strong foundation in core data science concepts like using mathematics, probabilities, and statistics to make data-driven decisions. I have been doing the online course for Data Science at Turing College for about a month now. It has been a great experience, I love the structure and content of the material. I have constant contact with instructors and peer learners. I find the peer and senior review concept really efficient. I can manage my own schedule which is a must having a full-time job. The projects are challenging but doable, we get all the help we could ever need. I also need to emphasize that only in the past month a lot of updates were applied to the platform based on learner feedback, which I find truly awesome!!I am really excited to finish the course and find a job with one of the hiring partners.

Turing College lived up to its promise of being an AI college for busy individuals. The flexible learning schedule allowed me to balance my studies with other commitments while still maintaining the discipline needed to complete projects on time. One of the standout aspects of the program was the introduction to an IT environment, complete with stand-ups and code reviews with STLs. If you find a program that aligns with your interests, I highly recommend embarking on this journey. It’s a great way to find your path if you’re ready for the upskilling challenge!

I just completed the first sprint successfully and have now started the second one. As an online student, this is my first experience taking an online course. Initially, I was worried that online learning would be difficult to manage and that many of my questions would go unanswered. However, I was completely wrong. TC's online community on Discord is fantastic, offering help and guidance almost 24/7. The community members have a very positive attitude and are always willing to help, thanks to TC's ethical training. TC's processes for completing any module are well-organized and transparent. The sessions with Junior Team Leads (JTL) and Senior Team Leads (STL) are extremely helpful for understanding tasks and projects. The STLs, who are industry experts, provide valuable feedback that I consider a treasure. Overall, this has been an adventurous journey filled with learning and knowledge sharing.

I'm currently studying at Turing College, where I've chosen the Data Science course. I selected this course because it is the most challenging and comprehensive, encompassing not only data science but also data analytics and data engineering. The curriculum at Turing College is demanding; it often requires extensive self-directed research to gather all the necessary information to complete advanced projects successfully.The experience at Turing College has broadened my network significantly, connecting me with a diverse group of individuals ranging from fellow learners to senior professionals across the globe. When I first began searching for the right place to study, I explored numerous forums, and Turing College consistently came highly recommended for its advanced learning experience.One of the key benefits of studying at Turing College is the balance between freedom and structure. While you have considerable autonomy in your studies, there are also deadlines to keep you on track. If you ever find yourself stuck, you can join open sessions where others are willing to help and share their experiences with various tasks.I would rate my experience at Turing College a 9 out of 10. Some projects can be extremely challenging given the material provided, and at times, there is a lack of practical tasks, with too much emphasis on reading, which can become monotonous. However, I chose Turing College because, as a self-taught programmer, I often found self-learning difficult. The structured support and motivation I receive from Turing College have been invaluable in helping me push my boundaries and achieve the skills needed to change my career path.

 In the Turing College Data Science program I met a lot of bright and enthusiastic people. For one year this was an intense but refreshing source of knowledge. It was wonderful to explore how statistics, feature engineering and correct machine learning algorithms can achieve sometimes almost unbelievable tasks, how we can find business insights and get valuable conclusions from huge amount of data. 

My journey at Turing College was truly remarkable. Engaging in a plethora of projects kept me energized, while the unwavering backing from the community added depth to my experience. What I held most dear was the freedom to study at my own pace, complemented by the invaluable mentorship of seasoned professionals. Their willingness to lend a helping hand whenever I encountered challenges was truly invaluable. This collaborative environment fostered growth and provided solutions to any doubts I faced along the way. It was a privilege to be part of such a supportive and dynamic learning ecosystem, where every moment was an opportunity for personal and professional development.

Turing College involved consuming theoretical material and right away implementing it through practical tasks, leaving me with confidence for real life tasks and several portfolio projects I can showcase! The curriculum is not perfect, but it's staff is always improving it based on learners feedback. Where topics aren't 100% fully covered - Senior Team Leads and peers more than make up for it, whether through Open Sessions through Zoom or Discord server. The most unique part for me: doing code reviews for other peers is part of the experience at Turing College. You practice reviewing code and giving feedback to other people, while also getting the chance to see how other students solved the same problems and learn form their solutions!If you are proactive and responsible with your time - you'll do well in Turing College, even if you don't have a strong IT background!

  Turing college was my first and only choice here in Lithuania. It surpasses most other bootcamps, no useless lectures, instead you learn from a well structured curriculum at your own pace and you gain the opportunity to interact with people who are working at industry leading companies, just ask them for advice if you hit roadblocks. The other learners also motivate and inspire as the whole atmosphere is quite serious, everyone knows that it's a big commitment to study here and the sense of community really helps. Also you don't have to repeat things you already know like in some other places where everything is rigid, here you just need to be self accountable and take what is most valuable for you, there is no limit to how fast you can finish the course. 

Turing College offers a unique learning experience that exceeds expectations. When I chose this school, I knew it would be good, but experiencing it firsthand was something I wish all schools would adopt. The main aspects of the learning process that I believe must be considered by other schools too, and which I have found here, include: engaging theory, a good balance between theory and practical exercises, self-paced learning with scheduled deadlines, professional feedback from field experts, and a friendly and knowledge-seeking community that is active 24/7. I have no doubt that Turing College will become a major player because they prioritize the learner experience and learning quality. For future students, I would say: sometimes it will be easy, but most of the time it will be challenging. However, you will never be alone, and in the end, choosing your learning path with Turing College will be the best decision you make.

The journey was challenging but rewarding. The material is diverse and well-chosen. The projects are interesting and real-life. They help to practice what has been learned. I especially liked the support system - stand-ups and open sessions. This created the reality of being cared for and guided. 

Turing College has exceeded my expectations. Initially skeptical about the courses, I primarily joined for networking opportunities and evaluation. However, the modern structure and hands-on learning approach have resulted in me acquiring more knowledge than I did in a year or two of traditional university education. Having experienced my fa r share of higher education previously, I can confidently recommend Turing College for aspiring data scientists.
