AI Software Engineering

I loved the flexibility offered by the flex software engineering program. I have a full time job and a family. I couldn't afford to a full time bootcamp and have no income. Coding Temple seemed to offer experience I was looking for and they delivered. The instructors were both empowering and honest. I only wish I was able to attend more of the live sessions because I believe there was valuable information there as well. 

Coding Temple has taught me a lot from frontend all the way to backend. During the program I was able to reach any instructor and book an appointment in the Flex program to solve any confusion or issue that I had. Compared to the full time collages I was in I would say that here I learned more of actual coding and can now build full stack robust applications that look sleek and modern! There was not enough stars here for the instructors! Top notch!!! 

I participated in the flex software engineering course, I found it great and easy to jump into. Any issues I had, the staff was more than willing to address and find a solution as soon as possible. If you have never programmed at all, I would recommend taking the guided course versus the flex course as the flask and react sections were a little advance for me, as someone who has had previous programming experience. I will say the software engineering course is web based and not as much desktop application based as I thought. I would recommend this to friends and probably do this a lot earlier in life if I had known about it.

My experience with the Coding Temple Flex Program has been 10/10! The instructors are SO helpful and responsive. They have so much additional material to offer students who are stuck on certain concepts. I also have to give a special shoutout to Aften with Student Success. I started the program working full-time, in school (separately) part-time AND planning my wedding-- really poor planning on my part. She really helped eased my stress and gave me a glimpse of what was to come after crossing the finishing line!

I was so excited to learn software engineering.  The program started out great.  Then the recorded code wars sessions were removed. I work full time and having recorded code wars sessions was so helpful.  I made it through half the program and needed more help with flask. I was told to schedule a 30 min session. I didn't have time for that so I ended up getting frustrated with no help.  I definitely wouldn't recommend this program.  

I wish there had been more reviews before I enrolled; perhaps I would not have made the mistake of enrolling in this program. This is why I want to share my experience — so that others know what they are getting into. I enrolled in the self-paced program because that is how I have always learned best; however, I could not learn from their online instructor. Based on the many positive reviews, I am assuming their online classroom training is much better; but their self-paced program is more recent (since Covid), and the instructor is new, so the overall positive reviews of this program are very misleading.  If you have ever tried to learn a musical instrument, I am guessing the teacher did not tell you to watch him play something and then copy what he did. But that is how this teacher imagined I would learn software engineering — watch a video of him coding a problem, and type along — exactly what he typed. Well, everything I copied off of him worked, as it should; but when I went to work on the assignments, I still had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was how to type along to the instructor, and he was NEVER available to help me with the assignments — not once in the four months I attended. His solution? All the explanation I need could be found online; if I get stuck, just google it. This may be true, but then I don't need to pay thousands of dollars for a bootcamp. The assignments took three to four times as long to complete because I was spending so much time on Google looking for explanations to help me complete them. This would not be so bad, except I enrolled in a part-time class because I am still working full-time. So now I am taking three to four times as long to complete each course; which they allow, but you have to pay them an additional $1500/month while you're figuring it out for yourself using Google.  I will not say it is impossible to complete the self-paced course; but if you do not already have a good understanding of the courses being taught, be prepared to spend a lot more time and money than you think.

I am a stay-at-home with two rambunctious boys, a 2-yr old and 2-month old when I started the program and didn’t have coding experience. I’ve always been intrigued to learn coding and to chance to work remotely. I chose Coding Temple based on the review and now, I can say that was a best choice! 
 
I did the self-paced program and did my lessons and assignments and projects at my own pace-that was the beauty of it. Also, videos were very well put together and the requirements were challenging and satisfying to finish it.  Aside from that they have Codewars workshops and whiteboards that they offer every week. More importantly, shoutout to my lovely TA’s Schadre Dent and Donovan O’Linn who were always responsive and helpful whenever I get stuck, they’re amazing! 
 
If you haven’t picked any coding school yet… then go ahead and inquire at Coding Temple they have lot of courses that they offer. And if you’re a parent who wants to have a job remotely while raising their kid this is a good choice to consider, ‘IF I DID IT, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!’

I was in the 6 month self-paced program at Coding Temple from April to September 2022. It was a hard road to say the least. A working parent who has most of the responsibility of keeping the house in order because of my wife's schedule put a strain on the 6 months I couldn't have imagined. My instructors were Brandon Apol, Christian Askew and Schardre Dent during the 6 month program. They were always willing to help, but were also able to deflect back to me when it was imperative that I figure it out on my own. I originally was displease because I thought there could be more subject matter taught, especially the stuff that causes the most problems and that isn't the coding part. Looking back now, I realized that its always part of the process to figure things out on your own and the better you are at that, the more valuable you will be in the field. Also, figuring things out on your own gives you a confidence that surpasses any test you could pass and I mean that with certainty. Not only that but you will learn things and have the tools to be successful and you won't even realize it until you do start figuring things out on your own, which is what you will have to do in the field to be successful. I appreciate the effort of my instructors and there help when I needed it the most. I would recommend Coding Temple for anyone desiring to become a computer programmer or anything in the tech field for that matter because of its broad background of subjects covered. I would add however, that being a non-traditional student, this learning environment was very challenging. I believe therein lies the issues of my struggles early on.... teaching myself a lot of things was not what I was used to doing in traditional college/university. I am forever grateful for the time I have spent here and everyone involved with this program.... It is top notch!!!! 

As a complete beginner knowing absolutely nothing about code so much so that I thought coding was just putting 1 and 0 in the computer however, after beginning my adventure at Coding Temple I soon found out how absolutely fascinating coding is. The instructors are there to help you with whatever you need and really care they want you to do well and enjoy coding as much as they do. Coding Temple has been a great leaning experience for me as well as many others I can't wait to start me new career and I can't thank everyone at Coding Temple enough for giving me this opportunity 

Wow, to say that this program is amazing is an understatement! I came into this course with a lack of confidence in my technical abilities, and now I am so proud to say that I've graduated from this program. The instructors are so incredibly helpful and completely dedicated to walking their students understand the content at hand. Christian Askew, Brandon Apol, and the rest of the Coding Temple team- thank you so much for guiding me through this invaluable experience. I would recommend this course to anyone of any skillset- if you have the drive and an open mind, you can do it!

You personally made coding temple an amazing experience for me via video. I'd do the whole course again and again, and even recommend it to a friend! Self pace was a wonderful experience for me because of the videos and the hands on guidance from each of you.I came to coding temple looking for a chance to break into tech and I received so much more than just a chance. I receive the skills to become a professional student and researcher, understanding the space to always grow and learn more. I love the support and positivity I received in my whiteboard sessions with Christian, the awesome commentary every video with Brandon to keep me alert, and the great food choices for how codes by Kevin in the pre-work. 10/10 would recommend, I love the work coding temple is doing for people like me! I didn't want a program that was set up as a bunch of videos to watch with no real support. I could get that from YouTube. So when I was researching the different bootcamp options out there, I liked that Coding Temple offered an instructor. Most did for full-time/in-person courses but CT also offers instructor support in their Self-Paced program. The instructor was extremely helpful when I ran into issues or needed a bit more explanation on various things we were learning. The assignments were engaging, dare I say FUN and challenged you to truly apply what you were learning in the course. Once you finish the bootcamp, you then have a whole new support system in their Alumni team who help with resume building, application processes, and interview support - both technical and in general.

Going into this program I had 0 experience with coding! none whatsoever!!! Brandon made learning all the information a lot of fun and understandable, and at the end I had learned things that I never in a million years thought I'd understand.  One critique I'd have with the self paced program is giving students the ability to get the pre-work done before the actual start of the course.  Outside of that... It was an absolutely amazing experience and I can't wait to see where my career goes from here!
