I'm thrilled to share that I recently completed the Le Wagon web development bootcamp from Apr 2022 to Jun 2022, and it was an amazing experience. During the 9-week program, I learned HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript ES6, SQL, git, GitHub, Heroku, and Ruby on Rails. The course was intensive and fast-paced, but thanks to the guidance and support of my patient and knowledgeable teachers, Suan Sen, Ashley, and Rayan, I was able to learn a lot in a short amount of time.
The highlight of the program was the end-of-course project I worked on with my classmates/team. We created an iOS and Android app that helps people with special needs find routes that are easier to navigate and also accessible. Users can review places that are inclusive and disability-friendly, such as restaurants, and even upload pictures of the places they visit. Our app also features a community page where users can share events and interact with one another. It was an incredible experience to build something that could potentially help people in their daily lives.
Overall, I highly recommend the Le Wagon web development bootcamp to anyone interested in coding and web development. The teachers were knowledgeable and passionate, and the hands-on approach to learning made the experience more engaging and rewarding.
Graduate 2022
Highlights
In person bootcamp. I don’t see how I would have been able to progress and stay on it working from home
Culture. The teachers and students of my batch were great and the learning atmosphere was fantastic. The whole team behind Le Wagon is brilliant and making the 9 tough weeks a great experience. There is always someone to speak to if you struggle with the process or have questions about career paths after Le Wagon. They offer fun activities for all students (pilates on Tuesday, outings, networking events) and work very hard on making the students experience a good one.
I’m above the average age of students and was one of the older ones in my batch. There was no point during the 9 weeks that I felt I didn’t fit in and I would recommend this bootcamp to any age group interested in learning how to code.
Structure of learning. The way the curriculum is set up is brilliant and clear. There is a lot of focus on Ruby and I personally would have liked to see more Python being incorporated to match the skills needed to find a job after the bootcamp. At the end of the bootcamp students work on a 2 weeks project and it is impressive to see what you can do after 9 weeks at Le Wagon.
Alumni network. The tens (hundreds??) of thousands students that graduated from Le Wagon all over the world have the opportunity to keep in touch via slack – there is a forum on which you can ask coding questions when you are stuck – a careers forum - women in tech forum etc. I found this platform extremely helpful during my job search and to speak with likeminded people.
Lowlights:
93% employment rate / 3 months to find a job. I assume this statistic may need to be adjusted for 2023. From my batch of nearly 40 I know that the vast majority did not manage to get a junior/graduate/early career developer role within 3 months. Some people got part time employment and became teaching assistants at the school after graduating or did part time jobs to pay the bill but from what I can see nearly all graduates are still looking for a developer job 3 months after graduating. The job search is tougher than I had anticipated as junior developers often are required to have 2+ years developer experience and graduate roles are very competitive (hundreds of candidates for 1 spot). It seems that product management roles or support engineer roles (careers that don’t only code) are easier to get.
Batchsize. We were nearly 40 students on the batch – imaging working on complex challenges with 40 people in the back. I mostly worked with my noise cancelling headphones on as I wouldn’t have been able to concentrate otherwise.
Skill levels. It seems that students are selected by keeping quantity rather than quality in mind. I have witnessed students in other batches struggle with basic computer literacy and language barriers. I’m not sure how students are selected for the bootcamp but can see advantages of having a stricter process in place.
Collaboration with employers. While I did Le Wagon there was not opportunity for an apprenticeship and work placement post bootcamp. I know a lot of other bootcamps work in a way where you apply for the bootcamp AND a company and you start working in the company right after graduation. If I were to do it all again I would try to get into a bootcamp that offers work placement (though they are harder to get into and the interview process takes much longer)
Classroom learning. The lecturers were clearly very skilled in all things coding and have deep knowledge of web development. Unfortunately, that is sometimes not enough to be a great teacher – some lecturers were not able to read the room (majority of students struggling to understand topics), moved through the topics very quickly or found it difficult to explain topics to students with no previous knowledge. My advice to students would be to ask, ask and ask. As soon as something is unclear ask the teacher questions. Most of the time other students will be having the same questions and if you get lost in the first 20 minutes of a lecture it will be very difficult to keep up. I don’t know how much pedagogic training teachers are getting but I feel this would be helpful
Tipps:
DO THE PREWORK – all of it (especially the Codeacademy Ruby course). This was such a fundamental basis and without it you will have a hard time especially at the start
Ask questions and make use of the teaching assistants and teachers to clarify concepts you are struggling with
Have fun and connect with your fellow students – the emotional support and networking opportunities you get from fellow students is second to none
Give it your all.

Le Wagon provided the best educational platform, along with amazing teachers and teaching environment. The bootcamp is intense, filled with knowledge allowing any student to become a great full-stack developer, building web apps and managing databases. I landed a front-end web dev job right after my bootcamp.

I had the time of my life at Le Wagon in Montreal. The course was so well done, the people were amazing and I am so happy with the skills I gained from it. I cannot recommend it enough! I flew from the US to Montreal for the summer cohort and I got to enjoy the beautiful Montreal summer while learning to code. It was such a special time and I still look upon it with such good memories. Thanks MG and the team!
Graduate 2020
I participated in a programming bootcamp in 2020 and found that there were many positive aspects. One of the best features of the course was the student dashboard, which was exceptional. Additionally, the recorded video lessons were very helpful for reviewing the content after the course.
However, there were some negative points that I should also mention. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our group was the first to participate remotely, which may have affected the quality of learning and interaction with instructors. There was also little focus on helping students who had more difficulty learning, which was a challenge for me. The emphasis was placed on teaching Ruby on Rails 6, a web development framework that, while still popular, is not as widely used in courses and bootcamps as other more modern technologies such as Node.js or React. In addition, little time was dedicated to teaching programming fundamentals, which made understanding the course difficult.
Furthermore, the regional coordination of the company was not very inclusive, which was a bit frustrating. At the end of the course, I felt like I had not learned as much as I had hoped. Additionally, the price of the course was too high for a nine-week course.
The final project was also challenging, as it was very open-ended, and many students had difficulty successfully delivering it. It would be helpful to have a pre-defined final project based on the skills of beginner students. Additionally, there were small groups formed by students who knew more, which resulted in little help for students who knew less.
In summary, the programming bootcamp I participated in in 2020 had some positive points, such as a good student dashboard and the availability of recorded video lessons. However, there were some negative points, such as a lack of focus on teaching programming fundamentals, a framework that, while still popular, is not as widely used in courses and bootcamps as other more modern technologies, little support for struggling students, and a challenging final project. Additionally, the price of the course was too high for what was offered. I hope that this review helps other people who are looking for a programming bootcamp to make an informed decision.

When I joined Le Wagon, I was a literary translator with absolutely no knowledge of web development. I was worried about not being able to understand a thing and that maybe teachers would'nt take much time with me and would assist only the best students. I was mistaken, and these 2 months of intensive coding have been very rewarding, I've learned a lot and I can for sure say that this bootcamp gave me an opportunity to have a good future with challenges, rewards and a good salary.

At first, I did not have any clue about the Le Wagon organisation when I heard it, however within few google searches I quickly realized how massive of an organisation it is. I started reading reviews and was genuinely surprised to see the success stories of their graduates especially those new in web development. Having the idea it is a recipe that works, I started this course with a lot of hope and ambition. The challenges (exercises) were such real roller of a ride, one moment you feel satisfied about one challenge when completed and one where you are stuck however there is always light at the end of the tunnel whether a quick break or the teachers (and teacher assistant). The whole experience was amazing, unforgettable and will strongly recommend anyone that is willing to change field or entering this field to pursue this course. I am still using and benefiting of the Le Wagon resources available for life.

After moving to The NL, I struggled for two years to find a job with my previous experience as an English tutor and content writer in Thailand. Then I realized that I really needed to gain some new skills to get more opportunities. I found Le Wagon Amsterdam by chance and after having a conversation with the staff I knew this was what I had been looking for. I did Web Dev Bootcamp in Oct. 2022. Their program is super intensive but practical and it turned my life upside down. I had no clue what they were talking about on day one but eventually, I was transformed from having no code skills into building two applications at the end of the course. The vibe on the campus is awesome. The teachers and TAs are skillful and extremely supportive. The day at Le wagon will start with a morning lecture then you have all day to work with your daily buddy on challeges of the day and end the day with a live-code session. By the end of 9th week you will be ready to present your final project that you build from scratch on the Demo day. The Alumni community is strong and active, so if you are stuck with finding a job or looking for some coding solutions there will be someone to help solve the puzzle. The journey was tough but it was totally worth it. I can say that this was one of the best decision in my life. For those who are making the decision, my suggestion is you should be prepared both mentally and physically because this journey requires commitment and it is not gonna be easy but everyone is capable to achieve it. As I have mentioned, it is gonna be tough but it's totally worth it.

Completing the Le Wagon bootcamp in web development is an incredibly satisfying experience that has left me with a newfound sense of self-belief. Now, don't get me wrong, this bootcamp is not for the faint of heart. You need to put in a lot of effort, but the results are absolutely worth it. The brilliant structure and supportive community is incredible and it's amazing how close you become to your fellow bootcampers. I would highly recommend this bootcamp to anyone looking to advance their web development skills. The workload is demanding, but the payoff is well worth it. I am honoured to be part of the Le Wagon alumni community, and I even got to be a TA once I finished, which has been the most amazing opportunity to help me continue to learn and try and help others too.
Graduate 2018
I can only recommend this training! It gave me the marbles to find the job of my dreams that I practice today. Without this first technical skill I would not be in the same position today. More than just a Boot Camp, Le Wagon is also a truly global community. Say hello to the world ! Learn Ruby !
Graduate 2019
Doing the Web Development bootcamp at Le Wagon Lisbon was the best learning experience I’ve ever had. It offers an intensively immersive and hands-on learning experience, while providing a very welcoming environment for bonding both with my colleagues and all the staff.
The program is designed to equip all the students with (super) practical skills in Web Development, which include Ruby on Rails, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Git, among others. At the end of the bootcamp it allowed me to develop my own projects and explore other frameworks and programming languages, which otherwise I couldn’t. And that’s the key advantage of doing the bootcamp, all the learning is transferrable to other languages, and it equips you to the job market and its specificities.
The teachers at Le Wagon Lisbon are also very knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about their work. They create a supportive learning environment that encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. The team is always available to answer questions and provide guidance, making the learning process seamless and enjoyable.
Another aspect that sets Le Wagon Lisbon apart is its community. The bootcamp has a strong alumni network that supports and inspires current students to achieve their goals. There are regular networking events, job fairs, and talks that help students connect with potential employers, industry leaders, and peers. Wrapping up, for any questions you might have, the community is there for you.
Overall, Le Wagon Lisbon is a fantastic Web Development bootcamp that offers excellent value for money. Nonetheless, don’t be misguided, the program is intensive and very challenging, but in the end the reward you get from it surpasses by a gigantic extent the value you paid for it.

I studied civil engineering for 5 years and I always liked coding. I wanted to learn how to code websites after my studies so I looked for a coding school with a short duration and I found the Wagon. Living in Brussels I signed up for the October bootcamp at "le Wagon Brussels" and I loved it, I learned a lot mainly thanks to the teachers and teacher assistants as well as the buddy system where you work every day with another person. The last two weeks we were accompanied in our final project which is a web application, for my part it was "Fridgevibe", a digital fridge.

Awesome formation! I loved every minute. The teachers in Lyon are great! It's not easy but very stimulating. Classes and exercises are alternated. The last weeks devoted to projects are really great.

Hi guys, my name is Gabriel, and today I want to share with you the experience I had doing the full-time bootcamp at Le Wagon Rio de Janeiro. I started it with some background, knowing about variables, functions, and scope, but nothing more than that, I basically only knew about their existence 🤣 and maan, now if I do not know how to do something, for sure I know where to find the solution or for who to ask. Unfortunately, I do not have another experience like this to compare with, but I can point out the strong things about Le Wagon 💪: ✔ The program works, their methodology was built for us to achieve our goals, to become a FullStack Web Developer, during the first days we learned about variables and functions, and in the last weeks we were building real web applications. You will be able of doing it in just 10 weeks, trust me! The concepts are given at their perfect time!
👨💻 You’ll save a lot of time, during the bootcamp we have a lot of challenges per day, which means we practice a lot, and if we struggle we have an entire team to help us with!
👩🏫 At there you will see that your campus have teachers, teachers assistants, manager, and many other people working for you to have a great experience, happy people that actually like what they are doing and put a lot of their good energy into it, you will have amazing emotional and technical support.
👨🎓 The final projects at bootcamp are typically completed in teams, and everyone works together to complete them. If you struggle with a particular aspect of the project, you can ask for help from the teachers or your team members. The great thing about this is that you will still be participating in its development even if you are not working on the backend. You will have an understanding of the entire stack, even if you do not want to work as a frontend or backend developer. This knowledge will be valuable, as having a frontend developer who understands some backend concepts is more valuable than one who does not. Even if you don't want to work as a frontend or backend developer, you will have ideas about how it works.
📡 The COMMUNITY is the best, many people around the world, entrepreneurs, freelancers, and digital nomads, actually started from where you are, and many of them are there to take out your doubts!
👀 Serious people there are amazing, loved it, even after the bootcamp when I had some doubts, the teachers and TAs were there for me if they have time of course!
📈 Solid logic knowledge, during the bootcamp, we learn to solve various challenges using Ruby and JavaScript. By learning these languages, it becomes much easier to learn other languages as well, because what essentially changes between one language and another is the syntax.
Graduate 2022
Le Wagon was a great learning experience. To be honest, I learned more than I expected from a bootcamp and I was impressed by what I could build at the end of the nine weeks (and I was a complete beginner, never coded in my life before). It's intense but their methodology is awesome, you really learn by doing. And their online learning platform is really well built, it's a great support in addition to the teachers and teacher assistant. You can find recording of every class and detailed correction of each exercice as well as detailed tutorials, really useful (and the best for me is that you keep your access to it after the bootcamp, you even get access to the update/new class they post). Beyond the learning experience, I really enjoyed my time there because I got to meet a really diverse group of people in term of age and experiences (which you rarely do in your job or even in university). I wanted to do Le Wagon to improve my tech skills before starting my own tech company, I applied because a lot of people told me good thins about it but I was not certain it was the best move when I started (afraid it might be a loss of time/money), in the end I really don't regret it!

The coding bootcamp was a great experience. It not only taught me the knowledge and skills needed for web development, but gave me the leg up that that I needed to change my career. Also, it was very easy for me to find freelance mission in Product after this classes. I can better manage my communication with developpers now.

Great place to learn to code and change yoru career, the pastoral care is on another level, opportunities to socialise, great mix of people, friendly atmosphere! A lot of material was covered in a short timeframe, lots of resources to take advantage of both during and after the bootcamp as an alumni

6 month after completing the Le Wagon Full Stack Web Development Course, I can it was one of the most impactful decisions of my life. The pace of the bootcamp is great, you are introduced to new concepts in a very regular way, adding to existing knowledge. The buddy system, where you are paired up with a different person everyday, is great for learning to work with different people and learning different ways to solve challenges.I would recommend Le Wagon to anyone interested in a change of career into web development
