I’ve learned a great deal in a short amount of time. Much of Skillcrush is hands on, with projects of HTML and CSS for you to get started with in the first few weeks of classes. The teachers are very quick to respond to emails- but be ready to put your self reliance to the test. After all- if you want confidence enough in your coding skills to impress the interviewer at your next job interview, you need to be able to do the job description and then some!

I started the Break into Tech course in 2019, but was sidetracked by Covid and have now returned. Even with the few skills, I learned back then, I felt confident to begin making a much-needed career change. I was lucky enough to have signed up then. The course is a lifetime membership. Even though I signed up in 2019, with the lifetime membership I have been able to take part in any updates in the curriculum that was already part of the original course I purchased. There are tones of support from the instructors and other students. When I'm feeling discouraged, connecting with other students giving or getting feedback on class projects keeps me motivated. So far I am enjoying the course and feel it is money well-invested in myself.

This program is perfect for self-paced and beginner friendly in every way. The instructors are always there to help and also we have a slack community that includes all students and whenever we get stuck we all assist each other. So far I’m 50% threw the program and I work a full time job and things are just wonderful so far.

I love Skillcrush. I had an interest in tech careers for years, but it wasn't until I took their quiz about how I might fit into the tech field that I actually took the leap. What I love about Skillcrush personally is that everything is so clearly laid out and organized. I think people have learned to code on their own time for free, but for me, the convenience and knowing that I am getting the right tools and practice is invaluable. I love the platform, I love the practices, I love that there are add-ons in case you want to go a bit deeper down the rabbit hole. I would 100% recommend Skillcrush to anyone who is looking to get into tech.

I am really glad I joined Skillcrush's Break into Tech bootcamp. I have just completed the JavaScript course and will start the ReactJS soon. This course has given me the needed skillset to start out as a Front-End Developer. They provide a lot of website coding challenges that will bring out the programmer in you. Being a self learner myself, the knowledge I gained here has really strenghtened my programming foundations. Part time learning or immersive learning. It is all up to you. Perfect.

I enrolled in Skillcrush a few weeks ago and am so happy I did. I had previously been looking into doing a more intensive bootcamp when I stumbled over Skillcrush. The lessons take you step by step through the process and there is always an instructor ready to answer any questions you may have. I have found that the lessons are upbeat and positive which helps you to get through those moments when you start to doubt yourself or your motivation is wavering. Thanks so much to all the skillcrush team for all the amazing work they do!

I am halfway through Skillcrush's Break Into Tech course and it is one of the best courses I have done. This is my first study in tech and design. Everything is presented in a very encouraging way. I finish each video and think 'yes, I can do it'. The teaching style really appeals to me. There are so many men in tech, it is a breath of fresh air to be learning from Skillcrush. Highly recommended.

I have just finished HTML & CSS and so far this course has been amazing! The great thing about it is that you can go at your own pace but you do need to stay on top of your work and assignments in order to get it done in a timely manner. In a few weeks, I have learned HTML and CSS and have completed the portfolio website that I will be using for interviews. It has been such a fast and exciting process I can't wait to see what the rest of the course has in store. I am also very optimistic because I will be having help with the job search and interview process. I am also paying on a monthly basis which helps as I am currently unemployed. I would definitely recommend it.

I happened to stumble upon Skillcrush by accident when looking for a new career to pursue, and it was the best accident I could have asked for! What drew me in was the free week bootcamp they offer to get a glimpse of what the courses entail. I immediately became interested just by the way the instructors were presenting the material. It felt very warm, friendly, and inviting. They did a great job of making it feel comfortable and not intense for anyone who may be trying to learn tech from nothing. I'm not even a quarter of the way into the "Break Into Tech" program and I already absolutely love everything about it. The instructors explain the material well in an easy to understand way. It is broken up in many sections so it doesn't feel like too much at once. They also offer 1-on-1 mentor check-ins throughout the course, direct feedback from instructors on the work yo do, and a whole online community of people going through the courses to gain feedback and bounce ideas off of. It is truly unlike any other online course out there that I have come across and they have done an excellent job with it! They really make learning fun! :)

Skillcrush has been fantastic from day 1! Their instructors do a great job of not only explaining what you are learning but why you are learning it. Skillcrush does an amazing job of providing information about each lesson as well as providing examples of each lesson. Each lesson is set up for the student to interact with the lesson material and engage in hands on learning before moving on to the next subject material. The one thing that sets Skillcrush apart from the other online courses is their ability to help you along the way if you get stuck on a lesson. They are very fast at responding to your questions as most of my questions were answered the same day. They do an excellent job of encouraging the student to use the skills they have learned to help solve the issue they are stuck on. I recommend skillcrush to anybody who is seeking any kind of career in the tech field, but doesn't have any prior knowledge or work history in the tech field!

I took my first class at Skillcrush just under a year ago, and today I am working full time, remote, at a great little design and development agency. I am SO glad I took the plunge and signed up for Skillcrush! (I did the "break into tech" package, which is the comprehensive all in one, and also includes the career prep class.)Prior to Skillcrush, I spent a few months trying out classes at Codecademy and Coursera (some free and some paid), but never quite gained traction with those. For me, what really set Skillcrush apart was:- they're truly beginner friendly: this means it's okay to know NOTHING about code on day one, and still make meaningful progress. It also means they walk you through setting up local development environments and publishing real websites on the real internet. I couldn't quite get those things going in my previous courses at other places, but Skillcrush had just the right mix of super clear instruction, encouragement, and helpful teachers...and then down the line, I had more confidence to tackle new things on my own. - it's fun: the classes are a nice mix of videos, reading, projects, and the topics and the way they present it is entertaining. - they're super-focused on the daily skills of web development: collaborating on GitHub, doing a thorough QA (quality assurance) on your project before publishing, searching the internet for bug fixes...these are all core to my current job, and all things that I learned at Skillcrush.- instructors (and fellow students!) are helpful and kind: the internet is not always the friendliest place, and that can include "support" forums on the internet. And at the cheaper monthly-fee coding schools like Codecademy, there just isn't the number of staff to provide a lot of support. At Skillcrush, there is a super-positive and very quick to respond community of instructors and classmates on Slack. (And importantly, they're much more likely to point you in the direction of answer, not just tell you the answer.)- their career support is AWESOME: the classes on job readiness, and the personalized support during your job search, are amazing. Like there is a whole class just on this! And during the class you get individual feedback on your resume, your LinkedIn, interview prep, mock interviews, negotiation techniques, weekly check-ins with career counselors and other students - honestly this aspect alone could be worth the price of admission. And, they have an express mission of bringing more women and BIPOC folks into the tech world, which is something I can really get behind.I think the only reasons not to pick Skillcrush would be if you'd rather (and have the time for) a more condensed, full time bootcamp experience. Or if you are set on a particular field in tech that is outside web design and development -- say lots of back end, or data science, or something else. All in all, a great coding school and a community I'm so happy I found!

I signed up for a four-month program designed to take students from knowing nothing about code to becoming job ready in many types of jobs in the tech industry. The program is great and rewarding but communication with the instructors and other students is difficult; even with Slack, emails, and Live Q&A. I often don't have time to wait for a response (3+ hours) so I use outside resources and sites hoping to try and figure things out on my own. I also thought there would be more practice activities on each subject, so I feel lost sometimes and hesitant to move on since the work and concepts go hand in hand. I wish ALL lesson exams at the end of each topic were feedback challenges. I'm about 50% done with the program lesson portion and I have met with a mentor once. I understand this is an online course with plenty of students to get to but I feel like once I signed up I was forgotten about. I still receive emails inviting me to "Change my Career" and "Become a Skillcrush Student" and I've been a student for almost a year. The bottom line is, I am learning a lot and I do think I will be job-ready just not when I had originally planned or hoped. Thank goodness for FREE outside resources and videos that can help you when Skillcrush cannot.

"You won’t just learn theory. You’ll put the skills you’re learning into action right away", it is a true statement, that is what I love about Skillcrush programs.

For someone who has no tech background, I find this course really great, because they make an extra effort to help you nderstand and make the whole experience fun. Can really recommend!

I signed up for the Break Into Tech blueprint a few months ago and have enjoyed it so far. Right now I'm working through the Front End Developer section and have completed both the HTML/CSS and Git/Github courses. I like the way Skillcrush stages their instruction so that they introduce new topics bit by bit and slowly have you practice them on your own to get confident with the topic. This is a self paced course so you do have to stay on top of it and make sure you take the time to work on it, or you won't get anywhere. For this tech newbie, I find the instructional method very helpful and effective. This particular blueprint includes 1-on-1 meetings with Skillcrush advisors and job training courses as well for those who want extra support. I have had one advisor meeting so far and will probably sign up for another soon. I really enjoy the active Slack community. Fellow Skillcrushers are very kind and helpful, and one instructor in particular, Lisa, is always willing to jump in when you get stuck. She's great! (They all are, I've just noticed that she goes above and beyond.)One thing I must note is that when I send in feedback challenges, I sometimes write a message to the instructors about how the topic was confusing or difficult, etc, and I get a generic response back (ie. Great job!) I would appreciate a more personalized response in those cases, especially when I mention that I was confused about something. Overall I'm happy with my decision to start learning with Skillcrush. I'm not sure I see a full time web developer career in my future, but having some skills in this area definitely won't hurt my resume. I look forward to tackling the Responsive Web Design and WordPress courses. Thank you Skillcrush!

The curriculum is organized in a very intuitive and easy to follow manner, with a lot more resources than I had hoped to be provided. The instructors and counselors are really quick to respond, very encouraging, and are like awesome coaches. I really get a sense that the culture at Skillcrush is super supportive and truly wants everyone to succeed. I have not looked for a job yet, but have a feeling that the team would also be very helpful. I feel very blessed to have found Skillcrush and look forward to continue learning from the school. Thank you Skillcrush!

I am on my way to becoming a fullstack developer and I am so happy I choose skillcrush. When I was looking for a place to learn, the most important part was having a teacher to talk to individually incase I got stuck. I am so happy with skillcrush because their responses are so quick and respectful. They even have live zoom chats that have helped immensely! I am so excited to keep chuggin away and I know they have my back to get me to my dream of web developing!

I'm glad I gave Skillcrush a chance when I decided to pursue a career change into tech. I'm currently taking the Break Into Tech - Front End Developer fast track. Skillcrush lessons are self paced but without deadlines for assignments, plus you get feedback from Instructors and TAs in a timely manner. I absolutely love the community support from like-minded people who are also looking for a career change. It's never too late for anyone to do something different. You don't need a background in computer science to get started. You begin with the basics and are given exercises to try after each lesson. It's been lots of fun learning to code. I would highly recommend Skillcrush if you're looking to get into tech.

Before starting Skillcrush, I had tried a few other paths including free code camp, Kahn Academy, and a Google Certificate via Coursera. I have found Skillcrush instruction to be the best and the price is very affordable compared to some of the other coding boot camps out there. Also, 1 on 1 mentoring is unheard of at this price point. I have progressed faster than ever through this program and am confident I will be job ready upon completion.
