From prior experience, I know this is a hidden hallmark of a high quality professional approach to training, because it ensures better learner outcomes over other less rigorous training programmes.

I really enjoyed my time at iO Academy. I chose this bootcamp mostly because it seemed to me that they proposed the most complete curriculum and they did not diI really enjoyed my time at iO Academy. It was a very intense learning experience, but it is delivered in the best conditions:- small cohorts (up to 8 students) so it is always possible to ask questions and interact with the trainers
- amazing trainers, always available and supportive
- carefully crafted curriculum, it really felt like they refined it year after year to find the best way and timing to go through the curriculum, so I never felt overwhelmed
I also want to point out that they put a really big emphasis on how to work as a software engineer (e.g. working in an Agile team) and not just how to code. I found this extremely valuable (maybe more than the coding?) as it is a huge part of the job and I arrived in my 1st software engineer position really well prepared and knowing what to expect. On the coding side, they were dedicated to teaching us best coding practices. I am currently working in my 1st position as a software developer and so far my line manager has been pleasantly surprised by how much I've learned at iO Academy!
It took me a 4/5 months to land a job but the job market is a bit tough at the moment. I got some valuable advice from their career consultant which helped me land my current position. I would not necessarily expect to just walk into a job straight after the bootcamp (some of the students of my cohort did though!). iO Academy was definitely worth the time and the investment, and I would totally do it again!

Especially in the areas of Git, GitHub, Restful Backends, REST Api and JavaScript frameworks, I have opened up a whole new world of knowledge. Our trainers and lecturers supported us to the best of their ability at all times. Not only did we receive highly interesting and clear lessons, but we were also provided with many helpful links and sources to deepen and expand what we had learned. I also drew a lot of strength and energy from the great community and the strong team spirit among trainers and colleagues. Here, everyone in every age group is accepted and valued for who they are. The coursework was challenging and engaging and caused me to deepen my understanding of Solidity and the EVM. The assignments encourage us to research and perform hands-on testing and verification so that we’re learning by practice and not just theoretics.
I enjoyed the format that the course takes as well. We have a weekly video session to learn and be able to ask any questions that we have. In addition, we have weekly office hours for this purpose also. We can also schedule time with our course professor for my 1-1 time.
One of the greatest benefits of joining the bootcamp was gaining access to the RareSkills community. Many top Web3 and blockchain professionals from major companies are within the community and only a message away. It’s great to be able to network with people of this caliber and have opportunities to grow my career.
Although there is no job guarantee, I was able to find a few work opportunities by being a part of the community. RareSkills is an elite and well-respected brand within the blockchain space.
Overall, I’m glad that I decided to take the Advanced Solidity course and join RareSkills. This program was very challenging to me. There were times that I thought I would not make it through and wanted to quit. I had to remind myself that this program is only introducing me to the various plethora of tools in data analytics. Some tools I have heard of and other I had not. There were some of the concepts and tools that I would never seek out and there are those I want to learn more about. To be successful in this program, you will need to be committed. You need to understand that there will be things you will not understand but you need to push through it. Use all available resources. I like attempting the challenges and when stuck, I will have something for my tutor to help me resolve. That is something I did not realize until later in the program. You will definitely need two monitors! Attend office hours before and after class. The instructor and TAs were very helpful when I had an issue. Set your time for working on the assignments and stick to it. You have to remind yourself that it is only temporary and not a life sentence. Read through the requirements of the challenges before submitting. Take advantage of resubmitting your corrected assignments. Realize that the instructor is fallible and the topics maybe challenging them to teach. They have topics that they are more knowledgeable about than others and this program is the only teaching experience they have. This program will solidify soft skills such as: critical thinking, problem-solving, time-management, and team building. As challenging as it is, try your best to remain until the end. It's completing and not always about getting the 'A'.
