Full-time Games Development Bootcamp Course Review:
The strength of any course lies in the team that delivers it. In this, The Developer Academy (TDA) excels above others.
TDA is also very careful to ensure the applicant is well suited for the bootcamp with a multi-stage application process. From prior experience, I know this is a hidden hallmark of a high quality professional approach to training, because it ensures better learner outcomes over other less rigorous training programmes.
The course delivery has a practical focus, and is centred around gaining hands-on experience with current industry tools (e.g. Visual Studio, C++, Unreal Engine) and methods (e.g. Agile - Scrum & Kanban).
In summary:
The bootcamp was four months of full-time 'on the job'-style intensive training, backed up by a comprehensive support structure which includes career development. Approachable, friendly, helpful, supportive, employment focused training from video game industry professionals. Personally, to call it "positively life changing" isn't an exaggeration. I took this course to learn unreal engine as I had previously used unity to broaden my skills, I learned a lot and now feel very confidant using unreal engine to make games. 
It was a great experience from start to finish, I enjoyed working with the other students on the course and this helped me gain experience working with others which is a big part of game development. Finally I love the hands on approach of this course as I learn best by doing rather than studding, building on concepts a bit at a time for example, starting out with variables and then to making a scoring system.
If your interested in learning unreal, I cant recommend this course enough. Read less

I started the software development bootcamp at the Developer Academy in May 2023 and really enjoyed my experience there. This is a great oppertunity for anyone wanting to get into software development. The course is well structured and the tutors really know what they are on about and can help you with anything. You are not thrown straight into the deep end and it felt like a nice gradual incline in technical skills, and by the end of the course I felt well equiped to look for work. I am very happy pleased I did this as I was able to find work for myself within the first month of completion.  Read less

I really enjoyed this course. I felt  completely overwhelmed at several points but always got the support I needed. I was really proud of how far I'd come and what I achieved. I found out about this bootcamp by accident, hearing about it in a rather infrequent data meetup in my local community. Upon chatting with a friendly staff member and browsing around, and with a busy mind on job applications, I didn't think much of it but nonetheless applied, not fully sure what to expect from a "free data science bootcamp". I was lucky enough to get in (theres quite some demand apparently) and fast forward 3 months later, I am genuinely grateful and 200% positive about this experience. I loved it so much I insisted on finishing it before jumping into a new role I got concurrently to the bootcamp and relevant to data science.
The course nicely builds up across the 12 weeks, starting from the very basics until reaching quite some advanced stuff. Of course, part of "demanding/over the top" me wishes some more stuff would have been added, but its only 12 weeks and the bootcamp does its best to accommodate various experience levels in data science and help everyone improve along the way. Nonetheless, prior to the course, I like to think I had some experience with data science but I still learnt lot of new stuff whilst practicing and improving on the concepts I already knew thanks to the weekly projects. The extra learning came not only from the instructor who was top notch, supportive and helpful all along, but also thanks to the interaction and positive vibe with the other participants (learning from more experienced participants, and learning by explaining to others not yet comfortable with all the concepts). The help and extra resources provided to help with job search are also worth it (big shoutout to Crushing Digital!) and top the similar resources I've spotted in other paid data bootcamps.
Overall, this might be a free course but it's got great value and I cannot emphasize enough how I wish I knew about it few years before. The bootcamp is finally what people want it to be : you get what you put in. I know of a few participants who put tremendous effort in it, week after week, never giving up, and I am still amazed at how they've come, some of them starting from nearly zero. A humbling and inspiring experience !
All in all, I will remember this bootcamp for a long time and am a big advocate of it. Thanks again TDA team ! Read less

The boot camp provides a comprehensive overview of all Data Science topics. Its a great way to get introduced to the topics and delve into your own projects to apply the knowledge that is taught. The boot camp not only equips you with the knowledge of the topic but also helps you with the skills and techniques to secure employment.

The instructors are knowledgeable, approachable and provide one to one support when needed. The course is set at a manageable pace with breaks and revision at increments.

The time and dedication of the team to support job application including CV and cover letter guidance is particularly helpful, considering the boot camp aims to help students find employment.

I really enjoyed my experience with The Developer Academy and will recommend the courses to anyone who wants to get into tech or to whoever would like to upskill. Read less

I really enjoyed my time at The Developer Academy. We were given a good overview of data science and got to grips with Python at a good pace. We worked on several projects and were encouraged to work on personal ones for our portfolios, too. You get out what you put in but you can always ask for help. Also, the career assistance was awesome. I had my CV and cover letter looked over which helped me land a job! Read less

The data science bootcamp was a fantastic experience. I learned a lot during the bootcamp, and the career support was excellent too. It has really given me the confidence and skills to return to tech as a full stack developer after a long career break. I was stuck in the loop of no job because of no experience! I luckily found this course and was given the life changing study i needed to gain practical project led experience to break into data science, you finish the course with a full portfolio of data science projects you can show to recruiters. The online learning fit well with my personal style of study , lead by the great instructor, Abayomi . The course material is 10/10 , and there are also career session to help you get into work - i was lucky to secure a job before finishing the course! couldnt thank the Developer Academy enough! :)
