After spending hours researching product management courses in NYC I could only find ones focused on concepts and fundamentals, then I stumbled upon Product Gym and I'm so glad I did. The program is focused on the practical side - actually landing that product management job you want! Rich, Cody and team lay out a clear and effective process that produces real results - I'm talking more interviews than you can handle and ultimately real offers. Along the way, you'll learn all the concepts, frameworks and lingo you need to know. This program arms you with all the tools necessary to land a PM role, starting with the fact that the skills needed to land a PM role are very different from those needed to be successful as a PM.

I first met Rich through a meetup on how to go from finance to product management. My god, that was probably the best thing to happen to me. We went over my background and resume, he was able to connect me with other product managers who were hiring, and was able to get me interviews within a week, when before I was just applying with no responses.

Once I joined product gym, it wasn't just a quick check-in and calling it a day. There was bi-weekly meetups where I learned the skills required to be an excellent PM, as well as chats with the founders to see where I could improve in the interview process. Because ultimately, you're here not just to learn what it takes to be a PM, but to also land a PM job in as short of time as possible. Product Gym could not have helped more with my professional development, and I cannot rave about the quality and promote them more.

I am in the middle of my training with the Product Gym and so far I am beyond impressed by their dedication to deliver real value to their students. The classes are tailored to real business problems and interview processes. They know by heart each and everyone of their students and support them based on their individual needs, in addition to all the good material that is provided to all students. I believe whether or not I land a job that I truly want is from now on entirely dependent on my personal effort because PG provide all the support that one needs to succeed.

Product Gym is the program I've been looking for my entire PM career. Product is a nebulous field with no clear requirements, skillsets, or philosophy. As a PM working at a big tech company, I thought I would have an easy time interviewing for PM positions but I was wrong. Very wrong. Just like interviewing for any other type of position, there is a method to the madness and the gatekeeper for this method is Rich. Hands down. After learning the method from the master himself, I was able to secure 10X more interviews and learn how to speak intelligently about my product experiences. You will not find anyone more qualified to help you secure your next PM job. Rich not only has the understanding of the field and the company landscape, but he also has the drive and determination to push you when the going gets tough. He doesn't quit and will not let you either until you have secured the job and salary you want.    Although Rich is the co-founder of the program, he is still heavily involved in the day-to-day operations and is aware of each student's progress and areas of improvement. His weekly coaching calls provide insight to the black hole that is the job-hunting process. The Product Gym staff offer constant support and answers to any and all questions that a student might have. On top of all of this, Product Gym offers in-depth classes and workshops on improving and refining PM skills.    Let me end with this thought. Rich is a character. He is blunt and won't sugar coat the truth of how hard interviewing for PM positions can be, but he is never wrong. He has a method that he has battle-tested, that he knows will work as long as you listen to him. I guarantee you he will write a book one day outlining it but don't wait for the book. I took the leap of faith and it worked wonders for me. Trust Rich and Product Gym - they are the only people who understand how to get you the PM job that you want. 

I really like Rich and Cody’s approach. These guys are the best. I first met Rich when he was presenting How to Land Multiple Offers in 45 Days in San Francisco. I have to admit at first his attitude kind of rubbed me the wrong way, but something he said to me made a whole lot of sense. Getting the job and doing the job were 2 different things. At the end of the day, I have met so many people that were great at “doing” the job, but horrible at “getting” the job. The best part was I also met other working Product Managers that felt the same way. 

 

Considering that Rich had come all the to SF from New York and he brought with him a few success stories two other people that were a part of his program, I was sold! This turned out to be the best investment I had ever made. Within 2 and half weeks I had more phone screens than I could possibly handle! This was insane! I couldn’t handle all these calls and work full time anymore, but I really grinded through it all. The most helpful thing was how Rich PERSONALLY conducts weekly coaching calls. I mean who does that? 

 

Every week he checked with me and my group to make sure we were good. We were okay. Thanks to Rich I landed 3 offers in 5 weeks with more to come. 

 

I learned more about how to do this job interviewing than I ever did reading. I was averaging 16 interviews per week. Sometimes even taking interviews in the staircase or in my car on my lunch breaks.

I’d already been a Product Manager before I joined PG. 

  At the end of August I left my job. The offer that I was waiting for ended up going to an internal candidate. Unlike others in the market, this course will get you the job!!!! The teachers first of all provide relevant experience not only on the job but for interviewing. They help formalize your past experiences to a product manager tooling. You are what you learn and if you believe it. The course owners are very interested in making you successful. They are knowledgeable and no bullshit type people. Their one goal in life is to land you a job in the field. The ROI for this course is huge. Look guys, I was lost to begin with and given direction by product gym and on the 40th day I took an offer out of several that I had on the table from a fortune 500. That's what I wanted. My initial consultation with the product gym people was surrounding a sentence of...."I'm tired of being in the start up scene and want to be noticed and work for name brand companies". That's what I got exactly! Interviews started pouring in on day 8 of starting the courses. There's nothing that I could say to express gratitude for what I got from this course.

This is the only course out there that not only teaches you the fundamentals of being a Product Manager but shows you how to actually get a PM job! I currently have two offers and expect more to come in. To be concise, this course works. 

Not only are the instructors really knowledgable and helpful, the job assistance is amazing. Cody is there every step of the way for you when it comes to getting a new job, from applying, interviewing, and finally negotiation!

Before PG, I was landing interviews on my own but failing. It was tough and actually very depressing. This course empowers you, not just with knowledge, but solidarity and friends to support. Recommend this to anybody looking to become a PM or looking to switch PM jobs!

Not to sound melodramatic, but this was a life changing experience for me. I met Richard during one of the Meetup events and one of the first thing that got me intrigued in doing the course was the level of candidness and openness to having an honest conversation about what my goals are. I was comparing Product Gym with Product School and what sold me on Product Gym is the level of attentiveness and personal investment they have in the candidates' success. It is one of the best investments I made in my personal development because what you learn at PG is transferable to so many more fields than just product.

The Instructors that they invite to teach the course are excellent in presenting the material and moreover are always open to having a discussion within the class and adapt to the needs of the students.

The coaching that Product Gym provides is applicable not only in getting a product job but in life as well - you will get the results if you follow the coaching and personal feedback that PG provides. The general community of PG is enriched through every single cohort and the overall group is incredibly supportive of each other in helping one another to get to the goal

I first heard of Product Gym when I received notification of an Eventbrite session titled something like "How to Land Multiple Product Management Offers in 3 Months" Without Any Experience. At first I was like, "Bullsh*t" but whatever it's 10 bucks, and I'm totally lost on where to even begin trying to become a PM, so I'll bite.   I went to the session and found it to be way more tactical than I'd expected, with great advice about getting your resume past ATS, applying at scale, and most importantly, interviewing, interviewing, interviewing, and not being afraid to fail. I didn't even know that this was a promo event for the program but wanted to learn more, because I felt the advice I'd been getting from friends and blogs was naively optimistic and vague.   So I signed up for the program. Not gonna lie, there are some parts to this program that need a lot of improvement. The classes can vary from excellent to very flawed, and I believe need to focus more contextually on tactical PM practices like working in Scrum, building a roadmap and working through the product lifecycle process.   That being said, I am still giving this program 5 stars because of the individual career support provided in a timely manner when you need it, support from fellow students, insight to the PM hiring process, and ways that it empowered me to not care about job rejections.   At the end of the day, the program got me where I needed to be and I had a couple offers within about 6 weeks from starting, one of which I accepted, and when I negotiated my salary, the increase covered the cost of the program.   This program is ideal for you if you are:    a) A go-getter who could use some support but are going to put in the work yourself and eventually be able to make decisions on your own without the help of Rich and Cody (if not, you should probably reconsider a career in Product Management anyway).    b) Are ready to be, as someone put it in a previous review, a "vulture" in your career pursuit. This program only works if you follow the process and pump out the apps and accept interview requests instead of waiting til you're ready. You will never be ready. Take them, fail, learn, take them again, fail a little less, learn a little more, repeat.   c) You are not looking for a program to teach you how to DO the job. This is about how to GET the job. You will learn how to do the job once you get it, and I promise, no program ever could have taught me how to do my current job so it seems irrelevant.   Be prepared for your life to be stressful and overwhelming for a while. This is not a "fun" program. It's designed to get you the job and in the process, most people end up building a lot of confidence, but that's on you and how closely you follow their advice.   Bottom line: No one is doing what Rich and Cody are doing with Product Management and if you're up for the challenge and not easily deterred, I could not recommend this program more.

Not even kidding! My callbacks before attending Product Gym courses were on average 1 in every 10-15 places I’d apply to. Looking back since I finished the courses, I barely knew what I was doing in these interviews. My interviews are so much more engaging now, I have so much more confidence when I speak to employers. It’s gotten to a point where I even heard back from 5 companies the other day! I’m determined to get that PM position soon and want everyone to know that Rich and everyone else that speaks at the Product Gym classes have your best interests in mind and will do nothing less to ensure you know how to get a PM job.

After Product Gym, I’ve been applying for over 2 months to different PM positions. Since then, I’ve had a few 2nd round interviews, even a few 3rd round interviews, and even my first offer last week! The best part is that Product Gym isn’t about just the 6 weeks of courses and that’s it – everyone affiliated with the company will, I repeat WILL, help you every step along the way. I called up one of the instructors from PG about the update with my first offer and they were beyond thrilled to hear, and told me not to stop that momentum. I’ve never seen a place so committed and so involved with helping you to succeed, worth every penny and minute of time I spent here since Day 1!

I never used to hear back from companies, unless it was them letting me know I didn’t get the position. I was ready to call it quits on becoming a PM and move on, but decided to give Product Gym a try as my deciding factor on whether it was the right path for me or not. I can safely say that not only was it the right decision, but I feel like my interview skills are night and day compared to how they used to be. I now have total control within my interviews, have heard back from more than half the places I’ve applied to since then! I don’t plan on slowing down, and now am certain I will be a PM soon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

From total lack of confidence to someone who can have the attention of an entire room, the people at Product Gym KNOW exactly what they’re talking about. What I love is that everyone here is so involved in your success and go above and beyond to ensure you know what you’re doing in order to become a PM. I never once saw myself before being able to go for something like a PM, but now I have newfound ambition and will not settle for anything less. Before attending my first Product Gym class, I had only a vague understanding of the field as a whole and not much else beyond that. Not only do I know so much more about being a PM, but I also was provided the tools and knowledge of what it takes to become a PM and how to make myself an attractive candidate for the role. Only a few weeks out and already have been receiving at least a dozen phone calls/emails back from companies interested, and I don’t see that slowing down until I successfully become a PM!

What I love about this school is how involved all the instructors are. The same people running the course are there with you every class. Whether they’re lecturing the classes and explaining what you need to know in order to succeed, or helping your resume to look good, they’re the same people that will be there with you from start to finish! I’ve never had a course with people so involved with your success until I found Product Gym. For anyone looking to learn Product Management skills and how to take steps to become one, look nowhere else but here!

If you have the drive and ambition to succeed, then Product Gym will help you attain your goal of becoming a well-paid product manager - they did for me!!

Not everyone has energy to maintain their full-time job and take classes.  If you are that time of person, then stay home, frankly. Because here, if you not putting in the effort, then dont waste your time.  Go to another course that will take your money just as well, but not give your the drive and focus to succeed. Go sit in class with the mundane.  This class was full of a bunch of sharks and go getters who brought out my competitive nature. Best part is, that competition increased our drive and cooperation.  We learned from each other. That’s what this class does - it brings out the best in you and helps you fully realize your potential. Yes, I could go on about the details but for me the real value came from the drive it re-instilled in me.  GO GET IT!

 

Before I found ProductGym I was lost in a hopeless cycle of applying for jobs. Maybe it was my lack of confidence, but I wasn't getting anywhere, despite having previous experience in Product Management. I reached out to PG and slowly started seeing a change. Using Rich's methodologies, I was able to increase my reach, improve my main selling point (my resume and LinkedIn) and get my name in front of recruiters and generate interviews!
