Ironhack

I don’t even know how to start this review, Ironhack really changed my life. Before Ironhack I was studying tourism, completely lost and unhappy with what I was doing. I had 0 expectations or motivation for the future, when I found Ironhack I was still very skeptical and thought it would just be a “way” out but it was a complete opposite. During 10 weeks I went through immense stress and the idea of giving up almost crossed my mind. I stayed because I believe that Ironhack is not like other bootcamps, here we’re all on the same boat, being students from my course, from other courses or even members of the staff. I knew from week 1 that I could count on every single person inside that building and it’s truly a very big family. 
  After my bootcamp I had the honor to stay at Ironhack as a Teacher Assistant, I got to meet the rest of the staff on a deeper level and I can safely say that they are my family. Today, I work as a Fullstack Engineer and as a Teacher Assistant for the Part-Time course. This is what Ironhack did for me, from the 16th of January THIS year I was lost and unhappy with what I was doing, today, the 7th of December, I’m happier than ever with what I’m doing and I had the chance to meet people that I will take with me for the rest of my life <3. When I found Ironhack I was at a delicate moment in my life, during the pandemic I was financially forced to drop out of university (Aeronautical Science). I needed a miracle to change my professional situation. I had no prior experience in the area and had never done a single line of code in my life. I decided to put all my 'eggs' in the bootcamp basket, I resigned from my previous job as a florist, and dedicated myself completely to studying during these 9 weeks of classes. And I can say that it was the best choice I've ever made in my life. I finished bootcamp as a Hackshow winner, and I met friends for life. In about two months I got a dream job that gives me flexible hours, space to study and grow even more. Ironhack is not a guaranteed pass to success, there is no such thing. I had an amazing experience from beginning to end. The amount of support I received is unparalleled. My classmates, teacher and teacher's assistant stay in contact and support each other to this day. I didn't have so many expectations, all I wanted is trying a new path hoping for a better job. However, it was a great experience even though it was a 3-month online course I got to be close to my teachers and the students we had fun and were encouraged to be close we got support and our questions were welcomed. it was condensed but very organized and this made it feel easier, and I keep going back to my notes and the student portal. The process helped us to have good projects and build a portfolio in a relatively very short time and I found a job through my last Ironhack project collaboration and that was great. I am still in contact with my Ironhack family, and this is a good feeling as it is an intense process but they created a safe place for us to support each other. I know this could sound cheesy but this is the way I related to stuff and how things feel easier to me is to feel connected to it and that was what I felt connected. Read less

I had a really nice experience with international cohorts from all around the world, we had a nice atmosphere between us. Really human and a nice teacher and teacher assistants who made my journey through the bootcamp easier. It was hard work but I am glad I took the decision to go through it. Read less

This was one of my best experiences in my learning career. I made a big decision to switch up my career into tech (from customer service) - I've always had a connection to coding and all that follows, but never had the motivation to be able to successfully accomplish any sort of project on my own - and then IronHack bootcamp opportunity appears (suggested by a friend) and, even though I was working full time, I was able to double down on this and joined the part time Web Development remote bootcamp. 
I was originally rough to finish work and get in to coding, but as I adjusted, I completely fell in love with the world of Web Development - this time I wasn't alone and had other colleagues and future friends that were in a similar boat! It was amazing! All the lab work we had, assessments, continuous help from the teacher assistants and main teacher were truly beneficial for my growth (still in contact with my main teacher who helps me at times by the way!).I was able to achieve the goals I had set out and, one year later, I'm part of a development team for a startup as a junior developer, my life is going exactly as I wished it was going.
To get through the bootcamp you need a strong mindset and really love what you are doing, coding never feels like a task for me but an opportunity, since every time I'm coding, I'm learning. Read less

I have never thought about being able to learn so much in such a short time surrounded by really nice and professional people.
I'm a career changer at 43 years old, and never felt uncomfortable (neither physically with their top-of-the-line furniture!)
From the moment I came for the first time to get to know the Campus, when coincidently the same who was going to be my instructor, received me and gave very useful tips that help me to decide and choose between the other 3 Bootcamps.
The program manager, instructors, colleagues, and all the events they do, together with a very updated curriculum program for the classes, make every so pleasant to learn when is time to do it.
If you are wondering to start a new career in tech, don't doubt and waste your time, turn yourself into an IRONHACKER! Read less

I attended the UX/UI Design Part-time Remote Bootcamp.
I had a wonderful experience from start to end; I didn't think I'd build such a strong network and meet new friends as much as I did. Here's a summary of what you can expect (pros and cons, I guess):
Pros:
- The environment: being in class every day was something wonderful. Initially, it is kind of awkward, but the bonds you create out of that are amazing!
- The staff: the teachers in Ironhack that I've met are super nice and supportive; also, they have something they call TAs (teacher assistants). They are the sweetest and are always by your side, all the way!
- The content: it's A LOT of content, what you'll have to learn, but if you decide to start this adventure, be sure that the content is updated to the latest!
- The portfolio: being able to finish the Bootcamp with a portfolio ready to start the job hunt process is amazing!
- Job Hunt: Ironhack has something called "CareerWeek," where you'll learn how to address companies and headhunters. Also, they now have a job hunt platform that seems really interesting.

Cons:
- The Bootcamp is in English: if you don't have a good level of English, improve it before starting it!
- Work hard, party hard: you get what you put in the Bootcamp. Be ready to spend more hours than the ones you'll be in class. It's worth doing it.

Yes, you read it right. When I started the Bootcamp I was not a designer! And really, you don’t need to. Get ready, because the story is long! Just kidding, but I hope that what I have to share will help you somehow ;)

The beginning
I come from a business background focused on startups and creative industries. I had been working for 3+ years in the management of digital projects, and I wanted to start working creating experiences. I already knew many of the tools/frameworks we used in the bootcamp, but I used to apply them in a business context.

The bootcamp
Ironhack was a great experience that helped me a lot to better understand how I could use my background and apply it into the design field. The bootcamp was awesome, with great teachers and interesting projects and classmates! But it is the career guidelines that really helped me build my new profile. These focus first on you as a person and then on your career, which I think is very important because behind every job title there’s a human. I was a little afraid that I might not be able to merge both paths, but it is incredible how it all fell into place after the bootcamp ended.

The outcome
It definitely takes time and effort to understand oneself and build what’s needed for the job research, and after very intense 9 weeks you might feel like your motivation disappeared, but if you have the courage to keep things moving, things start appearing. After a couple of months of job seeking I found the job I wanted. It will definitely do not just appear in front of you, so I would just recommend you to be prepared, because when you see the opportunity appear, you ‘ll know you’ll be ready to take it.

The conclusion
It is a challenge, yes, but a very enjoyable one! Plus, you get to meet new people from very different backgrounds and make yourself some new friends :)  Read less

I took UX/UI Design full-time course on May-August 21'. I really enjoyed it! I had a lot of material to practice with. Also, I received many 1 to 1 calls from my tutor, Juno, who helped me by giving much peace of advice and recommendations 

I would improve, maybe to have at least 1 more project for the web. Cause I feel I'm missing this kind of practice. 

But generally, all the projects were different and varied. Also, I got 1 week of code course. And here I feel grateful for receiving a recommendation to take an introductory Html/CSS course before getting to Ironhack. It helped me to understand much better all the knowledge I received from my tutor. 

Thanks to Ironhack I had some great friends with whom I keep in touch! And also, I wanted to say thanks to myself for making this change and taking the Ironhack course on time; making a huge effort to finish all the tasks on time in order to start looking for a job. 

I would really recommend this course to everyone who feels like changing his/her career to UX/UI side. But dedicate your full time and more to take 100% advantage of it. It really offers many tools and knowledge. But the only one responsible of this change is the person taking it Read less

 From zero to hero in Data Analytics. Amazing course, amazing support from teachers, staff and classmates. Great career guidance to find a job after finishing the bootcamp, in less than 4 months I was already working as a Data Analyst in a medium-seniority role.  Read less

In general my experience was very good, in my opinion the only thing they could improve is the teachers part. I had 2 during my time, 1 lacked soft skills and the other had no motivation to be there. Both of them had the necessary knowledge about the subject.

The company has done a good job to maintain the brand image on social image but does a pathetic job at educating and helping people change careers. 

All the students in my class had to work hard even after the bootcamp since most of the things covered in 9 weeks are barely enough to land a job. We had a teacher that was a past student itself, with less than a year of industry experience and the paying the price of 7500 Euros to learn from a past student wasn't worth it. 

The course seems deliberate and squeezed in 9 weeks for marketing purposes. I'd suggest choosing another provider over this one. The Program managers and staff and least bothered of the complaints that we write on a weekly basis. Their goal seemed to just get money out of the students and somehow have them graduated.   Read less

Everyone at the school is very friendly so nothing is their fault though the experience was very disappointing. They were not organized every one I came in contact with was a new employee. We were my instructor's first class ever, he had never taught before. We were supposed to have a classroom assistant and never did. We were supposed to present our final projects to local companies and never did. We were supposed to interview with local companies and that never happened. Overall it was not worth the 10k. I hoped after graduating they would help us get interviews but even after I did everything they requested I was only given 2 interviews and they were both paying $0 internships. I was trying to change careers leaving a well-paying job. I could only ever recommend this Bootcamp if you're just graduating High School and have no plans to ever go to College. Definitely do not expect any actual job opportunities or assistance after the program they will just recommend you to go to job fairs. Out of 10 people in my class, only 2 landed jobs that were on their own. One had connections from before the course and the other already had a Degree in Engineering... the rest went back to previous employment outside of Tech. DO NOT waste your money and time... if you are serious about breaking into tech take the free courses online and build projects. That is what they will tell you anyway after you graduate.  Read less

German was a top crack instructor. But somehow I felt that what's been taught could have been learnt by myself. Bootcamps are not for everyone and If you're someone that lacks direction they you'd probably still not go to a bootcamps. Just reach out to German and ask for some guidance on how to learn. Followed by using resources from YouTube and other free platform you're good. The career hack was under delivered. Just a bunch of techies talking. They do support in creating your profiles and motivating you but again, not worth the price I paid.  Read less

Going into the Ironhack experience I had minimal Web Development experience, but this bootcamp gave me more of a well rounded knowledge about programming and the right programming practices than I could have ever imagined. I'd definitely say that the most valuable skills I gained from this bootcamp was how important it is in this industry to plan and pseudo code, and definitely working with others on various projects. If I ever was falling behind or felt like I wasn't getting it they were always willing to take the extra time to help me understand what was going on and the best way to approach the problem. ​After getting through the bootcamp came the fun part of job hunting and it was an extremely painless process thanks to being shown how to job hunt correctly, and I owe that to my outcomes manager Brito (https://www.linkedin.com/in/dbrito1/). He was extremely thorough and provided me with tons of resources to make the job finding process easy and simple. I know I couldn't have gotten the job I have today if it weren't for Brito and his help/connections. He always held me accountable and that's the most important part of the whole process as an up and coming Developer. Overall Ironhack was the best decision of my life, I went from someone who was working in the food industry and coding as a hobby to working a full time job as a Developer for a great company and I wouldn't change a thing.  Read less
