great opportunity for career change
The course was full of practical content coming from latest technologies used in industry. I have to put my 120% to learn new things covered in the course. it started from basic things like html and css and ended up with django and mysql. Real project and being hands-on through the course helped me to upskill quickly.

Great experiential learning!
I took the User Experience Design Immersive course in 2018 and had a great time! We learned the foundations of UX design and worked together in groups to apply our learnings to various projects. We even worked directly with a client at the end of the course. I left the course with 5 different case studies that I was able to showcase in my interviews for UX Design roles after graduation.

If you're making a career change like I did, taking a bootcamp like this one at GA is a great way to start by learning with likeminded people from different backgrounds and really gain knowledge needed for your first UX role. Fast-paced, but projects can be portfolio-worthy
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at GA. With 4 projects within 3 months, these were a good start to having a portfolio upon graduation. Naturally, that depended on your effort and diligence throughout the project duration. The pace was pretty fast with a project week after every two weeks of classes, but that served to stretch my learning capabilities. The course covers the basics of full-stack software development. There is definitely a lot more to learn in the tech industry, but it’s a goo...I thoroughly enjoyed my time at GA. With 4 projects within 3 months, these were a good start to having a portfolio upon graduation. Naturally, that depended on your effort and diligence throughout the project duration. They were able to bring their previous experience into the classroom and give us some good tips and tricks on how our days will work when we are a developer. They were always available for one-on-one sessions, to answer questions and provide guidance on projects.
Another highlight of the program was the collaborative environment. I was initially skeptical that an online program would be particularly engaging but we worked closely with others in the class, and have even met with them in person after the course finished. We worked on numerous group projects big and small that simulated real software development scenarios.
In conclusion, The skills, confidence, and connections I've gained are invaluable. A big help in transitioning careers
I had already been taking some self guided studies in the software engineering domain for a few months prior to applying for GA but decided paying to do their program would be the quickest pathway to obtaining my first job in the field. Given the knowledge I had already obtained prior to the bootcamp commencing, I was initially a little frustrated with the basic content in the first two weeks but when I flagged this with my instructor he was more than happy to give me additional reading ...I had already been taking some self guided studies in the software engineering domain for a few months prior to applying for GA but decided paying to do their program would be the quickest pathway to obtaining my first job in the field. Given the knowledge I had already obtained prior to the bootcamp commencing, I was initially a little frustrated with the basic content in the first two weeks but when I flagged this with my instructor he was more than happy to give me additional reading and content to study while the class covered the first unit. It was all up hill from here though and the next 10 weeks I found myself allocating easily 60 hours a week to study (including class time/homework and my own additional exploration). Some days I felt dizzy from the amount of info I was trying to retain but building the project at the end of each unit was very fun and rewarding. My teacher (dt) was incredible and excelled at helping students get the most out of such a short term program. The careers team were also very helpful in providing a framework and support to help you get that first job. It took me a further 3 months of hustling every day and nearly 180 job applications to land my first job but here I am writing this 12 months from starting the course, in a permanent job as a fully remote software developer and I couldn't be happier.

Hollistic data science crash course
The bootcamp is everything you need to get yourself up to speed in terms of data science competency.
Being a bootcamp, there are some assumptions that you need to know upfront:- It will be FAST paced! It is a bootcamp after all. It will feel like cramming a few uni semesters into one.
- You need to have some competency in Python and A level/uni maths.
- Commit the ENTIRE 3 months to this course. Pretty much doesn’t leave much time for anything else.
The bootcamp is everything you need to get yourself up to speed in terms of data science competency.
Being a bootcamp, there are some assumptions that you need to know upfront:- It will be FAST paced! It is a bootcamp after all. It will feel like cramming a few uni semesters into one.

Having said that, the course materials are very comprehensive and instructors very supportive.
Career coach is also very helpful, though of course only as helpful as the effort that you put in yourself.
There’s just a few areas that the course is lacking, which is understandable due to its short duration:- More comprehensive SQL. The bootcamp only touhes it superficially, though the industry seems to emphasise on this.
- Data visualisation softwares. Qlik/Tableau/Power BI is not covered at all, but will be a huge bonus if you have some competency.

For GA's UXDI Immersive, you're thrown headfirst into a crazy 40+ hour/week commitment with barely any time to take a breath of fresh air. Now, this seems daunting (and it absolutely is), but if you go into this program with the mindset that you want to succeed, that you want to get as much out of this program as you possibly can before those brief 12 weeks are up, then you'll be fine -- I can guarantee it. For GA's UXDI Immersive, you're thrown headfirst into a crazy 40+ hour/week commitment with barely any time to take a breath of fresh air. Now, this seems daunting (and it absolutely is), but if you go into this program with the mindset that you want to succeed, that you want to get as much out of this program as you possibly can before those brief 12 weeks are up, then you'll be fine -- I can guarantee it. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that you will only get as much out of this boot camp as you're willing to put in. You will not be hand-held the entire time, you will be expected to execute design projects in incredibly short amounts of time (but they don't have to be perfect (!!) just backed with good research). While it is okay that you aren't able to get to some of the additional reading material, know that your willingness to absorb and apply everything you learn will make you a better UX'er. You must (as cheesy as it sounds) become one with the course material and the applications.
Something that could be improved --
There are a handful of things that I think this course, or at least my experience with the course, could have been improved upon. One prominent one is pacing. The first 4 weeks of the course are a whirlwind of information. It's like getting thrown into the ocean with just a panel of wood to keep you afloat. Towards the latter half of the course, while I appreciated the vast amounts of "Workshop Time", I would have liked it even more to have other lessons sprinkled throughout the rest of the course to further enhance my UX/UI skills, or just to learn more about how UX fits into different industries.

It is no secret (if you've done your research) that GA is one of the most expensive boot camps out there. This is why I mentioned that you have to be ready to really (no pun intended) immerse yourself into the program and be like a super sponge to really get your value's worth.
I was fortunate to have a wonderful career coach, Amber. She wasn't just a coach, she was also a mentor to me as I searched for jobs and eventually completed a design challenge.
