Flatiron School

Average Rating 4.45
581 Reviews 5 Courses

Flatiron School offers structured, skills-focused online certificate programs designed to build a strong technical foundation in disciplines like software engineering, AI & data science, and cybersecurity. Flatiron School’s Work-Integrated Immersive programs combine coursework with a paid apprenticeship, giving students the opportunity to gain real-world experience while they learn.

During the work-integrated phase, students spend 20 hours per week in structured coursework and 20 hours per week working for a company. By graduation, learners have built a professional portfolio, gained production experience, and earned income that can help offset tuition costs. Programs are facilitator-led with defined schedules, hands-on projects, and ongoing support to keep students accountable and progressing.

For certificate programs, the application process asks prospective students to share a bit about themselves and what is driving them to start a career. The process includes speaking with an Admissions representative in a non-technical interview to allow for the opportunity to get to know each other better in a friendly conversation. Applicants will also need to complete a 15-minute critical thinking and problem-solving assessment afterwards. Applicants will receive an acceptance decision from Admissions. If an applicant wants to try for the Accelerated Immersive path, they will need to go through a technical interview in addition to the steps above.

Flatiron’s programs are cohort-based and facilitator-led with structured deadlines and a defined path. Facilitators provide guidance and support throughout the program.
