I recently completed the PO/PM Generative AI course offered by KnowledgeHut, and it was an exceptional experience! The course content was comprehensive, up-to-date, and highly relevant for anyone looking to integrate AI into their product management strategies.

 Let me preface the review by saying that I did get a job in Data fairly soon after I graduated from the bootcamp. I therefore consider myself a success story from the bootcamp. I was part of the 2023 part-time cohort which ended in September 2023. I was working full-time at my job while doing this bootcamp part-time. I already had some (although very little) programming knowledge. And I also already had completed a semi-relevant (to data science) Bachelor`s degree before starting this bootcamp. Here is my honest review of the program and if it is for you. Pros: There is a fixed class schedule and there are workshops (homework/projects) meaning there is “imposed responsibility”. This forces you to take time to learn and is good if you lack the discipline to self-learn. Once you finish the program, you get a career coach with who you get to rework your CV and talk about your job search. They give decent advice, but I don`t feel like I was taught anything that would help me in my search in a job in Data specifically. Just general advice any job seeker would find useful. Cons: The instructors were not particularly good IMO. I think they lack experience in teaching. They can understand code and data science, but I had a hard time understanding their explanation. Since Data Science is such a complex subject, I think it is necessary to have a professional teacher/instructor and not just an engineer doing the explaining. My cohort was not a participative group (i.e. not willing to answer questions (and be wrong), no cameras on, etc.) So not easy to teach to either. The program is very fast paced, you go through a lot of concepts very quickly. I did not understand certain material and we were already moving on to another totally new concept. This is the big killer. The cost of the bootcamp is insanely overpriced. It is almost as expensive as a full Bachelor`s degree and you end up with a degree that is not worth much more than online degrees that you can print yourself. Overall, I feel very much falsely advertised. The bootcamp was basically advertising itself as a program that can turn someone that doesn`t know anything about Data Science and coding to a desirable employee for any employer. This is absolutely not the case (the interviews did not come flooding in for me neither). I know many of my cohort peers still have not been able to get jobs now 6+ months removed from the bootcamp. If you are someone desperate for a fast-track entry into tech, this is NOT your ticket in.



TLDR: If you hope this bootcamp will guarantee you a job in tech, it won`t. If you are not already in tech or have some tech work or academic experience, you should do a real university degree instead. The price they charge is not worth the service they are offering. The tech market is currently on fire, it is not a good time to transition into it.  This bootcamp is only useful to:A: people that already know about CS and are interested in data science. And even then, you can learn for free online.B: People to which 10k+ is not a lot (lol?) and lack the discipline to learn by themselves.Anyone else should avoid this.  Read less

The bootcamp had a great curriculum and great projects as well but what stood aside from free online resources was the networking partnerships they spoke of to bring you on as a student. They also advertised 90% of grads find a job at the end. Given market it tough but after many grads did not find a job in the field 2022. they still advertised 90% to new students 2023 when that was not the case anymore. I would say everything you learn is useful but I wouldn't recommend it to others. Especially if you're going to leave your studies or job to pursue and pay 11,000$. I would recommend learning on your pace. Find students who taken the bootcamp on linkedIn and ask about their experience from those who got a job and job seeking. Also ask the right questions to see if the bootcamp is a good fit for you, like statistically how many were brought on 2023 and how many find a job in the field. The bootcamp is doable to anyone who has no experience in code, you will be able to achieve it. Now you need see if it provide you the value you're looking for.  Read less

The course is not conducted nor at the caliber it claims to be. 

The learning experience is not great nor consistent. Half the instructors cannot lecture and do not seem to put the effort either, given they are reading the slides and are not organized in their lectures (knowing what slide comes next or topics covered). On top of that, most are not experienced developers nor teachers which does not help the matter. 

The concerns and feedback given throughout the bootcamp by students do not seem to be heard nor taken seriously, as no meaningful changes were seen until the head instructor was dropped with a quarter of the bootcamp left and a month extension being offered at the end. 

A lot of fundamentals and useful skills are gone over but nothing that one would not be able to learn and find on their own for free or a fraction of the cost. On top of that, the “extra” content offered to students after finishing the bootcamp  is so outdated and unkept that the repositories either to not work or are filled with deprecations. 

The approximate thousand dollar increase for the next cohort to an already overpriced bootcamp is absurd and feels like a money grab. It is great to feel motivated and have a structured curriculum. However , if someone is sure and dedicated to learning full stack web development, they can learn all that is covered on their own.  Read less

The instructors lack knowledge and experience, and some of them struggle with teaching and don't fully grasp the course material themselves. They often hire inexperienced junior data scientists or recent graduates. Many of the assignments and materials seem to be directly copied from well-known resources, without any effort to rephrase or add additional details.


The bootcamp advertises an 80 percent success rate in finding jobs after graduation, but in our cohort, less than 20 percent of people were able to secure employment. Those who did find jobs mainly relied on their own networking efforts rather than the assistance provided by the bootcamp. The promised career events and interviews were few and far between, and the ones that did occur were largely unhelpful.


All in all, the bootcamp is not worth the money spent. It would be better to seek out a more professional and reputable bootcamp, even if it comes with a higher price tag. Read less

The industry has changed over the last year and it definitely isn't a guarantee you land a job because you've attended the bootcamp. The curriculum is intense and you do learn the fundamentals of coding but the speed in which you learn leaves gaps of knowledge that become apparent when you start applying to jobs. The fee for this bootcamp is quite heavy and the curriculum isn't anything you can already find on the internet and can save you thousands of dollars. As mentioned in other reviews, the career services doesn't provide you with much job opportunity and if you were to land a job it is most certainly because you have done all the work yourself. Overall, I must admit I regret enrolling in the bootcamp because I made a career change in the hope of taking a step forward but unfortunately I have taken 2 steps back.  Read less

I graduated from the Data Science bootcamp a few months ago. This is a review based on my personal experience, and might not represent other students' opinions. All I can say is that the bootcamp does not give you anything that you cannot get by yourself. The curriculum they offer is not even as good as a 30$ course from udemy (in my opinion). Their job assistance is not enough for you to get a job (if anyone gets a job it is because of their efforts and not the bootcamp). Also, most importantly a bootcamp alone is not enough to get a job now (at least in Data Science), you see over 200 applicants for most jobs and this bootcamp for me did not help me to stand out in the application pool. So unless you have free time, extra money and don't mind staying up every night to do the work with little to zero reward (based on my own experience), I would not recommend this bootcamp. Read less

As the job market has changed I would recommend everyone reading this to find out what they truly want out of the bootcamp. After graduating in December, I have yet to receive 1 offer. I thought career services would make up for the teach yourself philosophy that the bootcamp had but I was wrong. Events set up with companies who aren’t even hiring, no opportunities presented from the career coach which is more of a venting session than anything. They reassured us that 90% of students land a job within 6 months of grad but I can tell you I’m not even sure if 10% of my cohort has a job. You might be reading this and thinking that I’m an outlier but I believe I speak for many who are dissatisfied with the service after dropping money and putting life on hold for the 3 months. I’ve been unemployed since September 2022 to attend the bootcamp and continue to be heading into April 2023. I’m taking this time to warn you that this is a big commitment and you might not get everything you had hoped for your future.  Read less

This bootcamp offered a solid foundation in Full Stack Development concepts and vocabularies. I appreciated the day-time schedule a lot and I found it offered a stable structure to move through such a fast-paced training schedule. I also appreciated the bootcamp's overall emphasis on employability and any lecture references to how certain programming languages would play out or apply to on-the-job duties.

At times, the speed and frequency of the workshops(i.e. assignments) felt more about surviving the pressure of deadlines rather than fully grasping new materials -- but in the end, the cumulation of that workload translated to myself and colleagues being proficiently familiar with a huge range of diverse topics and methods. The career counselor aspect of the bootcamp was extremely helpful and supportive. I found this kind of service extremely useful in gaining important perspective and confidence after moving so quickly through an intense learning experience. Read less

The course was great, slow pace fast at the start, and accelerated towards the end. The instructors were very friendly and i felt comfortable talking to each one.

Regarding the curriculum, could have used an extra class on the backend end and one less in basic js. Aside from this, it was perfect and even then the instructors were available once all the courses were done.

Last but not least important. The career coaching after graduating was better than expected. My coach Penny M. Guided all the way through and landed a job in less than 3 months without prior experience. Without her coaching, I would say it would have taken me longer. She motivated me, and gave me so much confidence! Thank you

Recently I graduated from Concordia University Web Development Bootcamp. The course was so intensive that if anyone keeps continuing daily projects, will surely learn a lot and get confidence gradually. I like to mention that instructors are really helpful; if you get stuck for 20 mins, you should never hesitate to get help from them. I assert that you'll certainly learn through problems.
But I recommend that you must have prior basic knowledge about JavaScript, otherwise it's quite difficult to cope up with the pace of daily projects. I know some people really struggled without prior knowledge.

I appreciate the career support from the bootcamp. Career coach helps significantly to prepare for the interviews with resume and cover letter correction, behavioral interview questions and valuable key information. I would suggest that you have to give extra effort to prepare yourself for technical interviews. I can't but mention about the career events what helped me to land my job at Deloitte within a month after graduation. I hope career events will be more efficient in coming days with all our feedbacks. Read less

My experience at Concordia Bootcamps was a fun, challenging, and rewarding one.  The course was thorough and gave students the skills to create full stack web applications from scratch.  There are several recurring topics/languages that I saw when looking for jobs that were not taught but overall, the curriculum was great and relevant.  The work was challenging and would be a bit difficult to tackle if you came into the program with zero experience (some prep work before taking the course was very beneficial).  The instructors were helpful and the projects were fun.

Upon graduating, I had a great experience with my career coach and wound up getting my first offer just three weeks after finishing the program.

All in all, I am very happy I attended this bootcamp and am excited to get started in the tech industry! Read less

Very intensive 12 weeks that helped me land a job within a month of graduation. Great teachers and support system. You get what you put into it. You have access to one-on-one time with technical coaches every afternoon. It forces you to adapt and learn quickly and it does so in the best way possible. Read less

I learned a lot of the basics about react which is what employers are looking for! A lot of it is working on your own projects. The career support after the Bootcamp was super helpful. I was able to find a job 1 month after the class was over, and this even during Covid. It's a great course, you learn a lot, and for me it was worth the price because I get to start a career in development.  Read less

Asked Ziad to provide us with the answers for the set of questions that he sent us on the very first day of the Bootcamp. Never received them or any response from him. Don't understand why just the answers could not be shared. It would be very useful for us to have, as we could also use them to prepare for the job interview. 

When we graduated, no assistance from Ziad or any TA's with regards to preparing for the technical interview. No mock technical interview or whatsoever.

When asked Kevin for some advice on the cover letter, did not get anything good from him. He said it was not important. Did not want to believe he told me that. He certainly has no clue about it. And also no personalized advice on CV.

  If you are considering to pay $7,000 to invest in your education and change careers, you might as well understand what you are actually getting for that money. My goal in this review is to be as thorough and objective as possible, so as to give you, prospective student, a clear understanding of what you are honestly signing up for. Looking back, the hype of the reviews here was not a true representative of the actual bootcamp experience. What disappointed me more was the politics that are being played on DecodeMTL course report. A perfect 5 star from all reviews…really now?   Job placement rate? Even if an education or experience isn’t as good as it seemed at least on paper or based on reviews, if they can give you a job within few months, it is still a good decision as you can pay off the $7,000 very soon and get your money back and upgrade your career. Unfortunately, DecodeMTL can’t deliver honest placement rates. As a matter of fact, once you are done with the program there is not much help, they have no hiring director that will assist you in finding a job. The job assistance you get is basically you having to email and call everyone that you can and hustle desperately to try to find someone to finally consider you and hire you. It's not an easy or enjoyable or streamlined process. It seems the Montreal market isn’t the best for developers and there is not enough jobs to go for everyone. Moreover, the average salary of those who do get hired are between $35,000-40,000, far less than other coding bootcamps ($50,000-$60,000) in the country and in the US. Then there is a great number that are just trying to find a job and disheartened and don’t want to write a review.   Curriculum I don’t think anyone feels competent to use the term full-stack web developer for themselves when they are out. The Decode team is warm and welcoming and I really enjoy some of the friendships I made there, but I joined DecodeMTL to learn to code... not to make friends. The instructor Ziad is knowledgeable and the co-founder Kevin is a great guy, but that being said, teaching yourself will save you money and emotional distress. The program is Highly underdeveloped. There are great resources online you can use that are equivalent, if not better, to the DecodeMTL program.    Conclusion For me, I don’t have a job, but the experience was good, although it wasn’t even close to the Hollywood movie that CourseReport reviews may have made it seem.
