Codemaster Institute

I found that the CMI back-end development short course was a great way to gain exposure to an essential part of full-stack software and web development. The structured learning environment was a good gateway into understanding and practically implementing core back-end development and database concepts and I feel confident in applying them to engineering, web development and gaming projects in the future. The instructor was also very knowledgeable, cool and keen to assist!

I have just completed the Codemaster Institute's web development boot camp and I learned more practical skills in that 12 weeks than in 2 years at TAFE and a year of a computer science degree at uni.  The staff-student ratio was brilliant and the tutors had real-world practical experience.  They were always ready to help and never talked down to anyone or made them feel bad for asking questions.  If they didn't have the answer, they'd research it on the spot so we also got tips about finding solutions on-line such as GitHub.  While I know I need to keep learning and improving my skills, Codemaster has given me a really solid base as a full stack developer.  Unfortunately, some of the businesses that promised to offer internships didn't follow through, but that isn't Codemaster's fault.  I would recommend this to anyone wanting a great practical kickstart in website design, Agile processes, and in coding html, JavaScript, css, SQL and php.  The cost is about the same as a year at uni, but the Codemaster course is much better value.
