CareerFoundry is an online bootcamp that offers flexibly paced programs for career changers in web development, UX design, UI design, product design, data analytics, digital marketing, and product management. Headquartered in Berlin but with a global student base, CareerFoundry has provided tech education since 2013.
CareerFoundry combines the flexibility of online learning with the guidance of mentors and tutors through their dual mentorship model, training students to become job-ready in four to 12 months, or their money back.
No previous experience is required to apply for the programs. Students should have access to a computer and an internet connection, and an interest in the topic they are planning to study. Students apply via the CareerFoundry website by connecting with an advisor who can talk through their options. Students will need to pay a deposit to secure their place, then complete the required pre-work before the program commences.

I want every future student to know exactly what kind of company CareerFoundry really is. I completed 100% of the coursework, had all four portfolio projects approved, and kept a six-month documented job search with biweekly check-ins. Despite this, my refund request was denied with made-up excuses that don’t exist anywhere in their Terms and Conditions. And the silence starts right from the top...I want every future student to know exactly what kind of company CareerFoundry really is. I completed 100% of the coursework, had all four portfolio projects approved, and kept a six-month documented job search with biweekly check-ins. Despite this, my refund request was denied with made-up excuses that don’t exist anywhere in their Terms and Conditions. And the silence starts right from the top. I sent 15 emails directly to [name redacted], the Director of CareerFoundry, and he miserably failed to even acknowledge a single one. This is the kind of “leadership” running the company silence, avoidance, and zero accountability. If the director ignores students, it’s no surprise that employees follow the same culture. What I Did – Fully Documented and unjust denial:- Full compliance ignored: I finished every requirement coursework, projects, and job search with no red flags raised at any point.
- Made-up rules: The denial was based on a false claim of a “broken” Tableau link and a random “hosting requirement” that was never in the Terms, never taught, and never communicated.
- Contradictions: If my portfolio was supposedly non-compliant, why did it pass two full reviews, even with visible typos, and why was I never flagged during the program?
- Mentorship failure: I asked repeatedly for guidance on refund documentation midway through, and was ignored — only to be penalized later for the very clarity I requested.
- Retroactive standards: Even my job tracker, which wasn’t required when I enrolled but which I maintained anyway, was suddenly used against me at the end.
- [name redacted], the program advisor, spammed me with calls and emails until I enrolled. Once I paid, she went silent and never responded when I needed help.
- [name redacted] gave vague, empty responses when I asked about documentation, refusing to state what was actually required.
- [name redacted] showed up later with fabricated nonsense, claiming my portfolio needed to be hosted on some random platform that was never in the Terms, never taught in the program, never mentioned by any mentor or career specialist.
- My mentor [name redacted] approved my portfolio even though it had obvious spelling errors on the first slide. If this is “mentorship,” it’s a joke.

The right choice if you're serious about switching careers
CareerFoundry has worked out wonderfully for me. Worth it - but some kinks to work through
I’m currently enrolled in the Career Foundry Full-Stack web development program, and I am on the second achievement of the second module of the course which focuses more on backend programming.
The first module was amazing! Very well thought out and written with great resources for students to expand on the knowledge provided.
The second module has been good but far from perfect. I find myself googling questions that need to be explained better in the course. Also I have gotten some warnings during the second achievement in module two saying the code is deprecated… it’s pretty frustrating that the course isn’t kept up to date to the point the code is getting removed in the next release of mongoDB I think it was.

Unresponsive Tutor
The course is designed to have the tutor help you through the course and respond to you within 24 hours. I chose the flex schedule which means I should be able to work at my own pace. Unfortunately, the tutor I was assigned to usually takes 3 to 4 days to respond. When I do have time to work on the course, I'm unable to because my coursework sits for days at a time waiting for my tutor to review. When I first reached out to the advisors about potentially falling behind due to these consistent delays things got worse. I'm about halfway through the course and officially falling behind schedule. I sent another message to the advisors about my situation becoming worse with the unresponsive tutor and currently waiting for another response. Hopefully, I can get a new tutor or some time added to my schedule, again. After reminding my tutor that he has 24 hours to respond or review exercises he has decided to start fighting with me over whether he has to respond saying he has students turn 5 assignments in in a day. CareerFoundry is friendly and accessible bootcamp which is easy to complete at your own pace. Their range of mentors and tutors are all knowledgeable and friendly, though you may occasionally find you have to switch mentors if your timings just don't line up. Good news is the student advisors are super helpful and make this process easy!

Additionally, sometime the platform can be a bit unintuitive and clunky, but only with lesser used functions I found personally.

Learning in a flexible online environment
I’m enjoying learning UX through CareerFoundry. The flexible model works really well for me since I can take a break if work/personal life is busy and make up for it when I have more time.
