Having now worked as a data scientist in industry for a few months, I can really appreciate how well the course content was aligned with the skills required on the job. The bootcamp gave me exposure to every aspect of the data science workflow, which gave me the confidence to dive straight into real-world challenges. Shifath, Miranda, and Jeremy were incredibly supportive and knowledgeable throughout. It was also a pleasure to return to full-time learning for three months and work closely with a small group—adding a valuable social element to the experience. A genuine 5 stars for everything I experienced at BrainStation. I choose BrainStation over other bootcamps because it was in-person and the campus is really nice. Going in every day and being with two really good teachers was very valuable. The curriculum was great, covering as much as was really possible in the 10 weeks. And I was pushed to build stuff every week, having contact with the teachers when I got stuck. It all really worked for my development.
Leaving in December 2024, the job market for entry-level engineers was very tough. So I am so appreciative that BrainStation's careers team were a key reason for me getting hired immediately after the bootcamp finished. The careers team got me to apply to a Trainline hiring round and helped me to get the first interview. Bootcamps are not a guarantee of a job especially when the job market is as bad as it has been, but BrainStation served me as well I could have hoped.  Read less

Attending BrainStation’s UX Design Bootcamp was one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve made. Coming from a non-design background, I was initially intimidated, but the curriculum was incredibly well-structured and beginner-friendly.The instructors were industry professionals who brought real-world knowledge into every lesson. They didn’t just teach tools like Figma — they emphasized design thinking, user research, prototyping, and usability testing in a hands-on, practical way. We worked on real projects, participated in critiques, and even had exposure to real clients during a hackthon for Revolut bank. One of the highlights was the collaborative environment. My classmates came from diverse backgrounds — marketing, business, tech — and the peer learning was just as valuable as the formal instruction.The career support was also excellent. I took the Product Management certification course. It was packed with information with fun instructors that had real-world experience. Transform To The Data Science JourneyI recently graduated from BrainStation's online 12 week Data Science Bootcamp, and the experience was nothing short of transformative. Coming from a primarily accounting background with little to no prior experience in tech, I was slightly nervous about starting my tech journey. You could even say I felt a little like Nemo swimming on and trying to find his way in a new world. However, the bootcamp’s structure and hands-on approach gave excellent exposure to the tools and concepts used in industry, which naturally provided many "aah Dory! I got it!" moments and boosted my confidence about the transition into Data Science.  The curriculum was very well-organized, starting with foundational concepts in SQL and Python (Data Analytics) and gradually building toward more complex topics statistical modeling and eventually Machine Learning modelling. Toward the end of the camp, we got exposure to Big Data and Cloud Computing services like Amazon Web Services (AWS). The camp also starts you on a capstone project that culminates at the end of the camp where you present to your peers, educators, and other industry professionals. I was really pleased to have the challenge of creating a capstone project with using a lot of the concepts/skills that you learn along the way. I now have the project on my GitHub, which BrainStation walks you through setting up (not as easy as it seems) and I'm looking to develop the project further in addition to adding many more to my first ever GitHub account! The camp is truly awesome at allowing you many opportunities to apply the new skills you learn to real-world scenarios, that includes my capstone project on surge pricing for rideshare drivers, which I’m particularly proud of : ).  The educators, Laura Cornejo Paulino, Borna Ghotbi, and Stephen Savchik along with the career services team Nikki Daye, Vasti Marcelo, and Annette Sayre are all top tier rockstar people, super knowledgeable, responsive, and they enhanced the entire experience for me and our cohort from week 1 to 12. The career preparation support is also amazing and I've been really grateful for all the best practice advice and teachings from the team, from mock interviews, LinkedIn polishing, GitHub polishing, to resume reviews, which helped me feel more ready to enter the job market. The program is definitely intense! ..., but the sense of accomplishment I feel made it worthwhile. I took the course because I was interested in refining my technical skills but was having a hard time keeping myself accountable. The intense schedule & deadlines kept me on my toes but the bootcamp gave me so much more. The classes were very informative & collaborating with other students in the labs made it easier to grasp concepts and at the very least struggle together. I've also come out of it feeling more confident in my skills than ever. I think the little time we had to work on projects, hackathons & capstone really drilled into me that I'm capable. The TAs & educators are also very friendly and helpful. It is a tough bootcamp but I believe they provide enough for you to make the most of it. Read less

I had joined Brainstation due to several people in my personal network who successfully transitioned their careers in a non-traditional way, into the software industry. While I had intended to attend in-person, the program was filtered into online which I was initially hesitant about, having heard so many great things about the in-person experience. I found that it took a bit of adjusting to learn online, but also helped me save a lot of time that I was able to invest back into further learning. 

I found the curriculum effective, but due to the delay in matching learning materials with the extreme speed of technology, a there were a few pieces that I think would have helped us hit the industry running faster (Things like PostgreSQL instead of MySQL from a popularity standpoint). Otherwise the comprehension of core concepts in web development were of the utmost emphasis. Having to explain concepts in Javascript and React in both a high-level manner but also technically really helped deepen understanding of the learning materials. I liked the frequent whiteboarding/code challenge sessions toward the middle of the program, and would love to see even more of it for future cohorts - my peers echoed that this was a primary stressor going into industry. 

The most impactful part of the bootcamp was definitely the value added by our instructors. Anyone can go on Codecademy or Coursera and put themselves through a software development class but the live feedback for industry best practices, explanation of concepts and theories when understanding wasn't fully actualized. It also really helped having someone who's worked in the industry to comment on what poor coding practices look like. When learning in isolation, you can develop bad habits for things like code structure, file organization and general best practices.

Eli Boninger and Joseph Young were the instructors for our cohort and I could not have better things to say about them. We spent the most time with the ever quirky Eli during the bootcamp, and his expertise in coding and passion for his students really came through. I loved his flexibility and willingness to go above and beyond for his students when they were curious about something outside of course material. Joseph has an electric personality and it was really fun to learn from him, it was easy to stay engaged when he was on screen. 

Now, immediately post-graduation we're showered with industry panels and support from career advisors, and it's essentially everything that Brainstation could do for me. The rest is up to me now, but I do feel that they've set me up for success. Read less

One of my favorite thing about the bootcamp was helping me discovering where my personal strength and weaknesses are. I didn't realize I have a strength in doing presentations and business research until presenting presenting for the Capstone Project and the Hackathon. The instructors were very supportive and patience with all my questions and days of freaking out, always finding a way to calm my nerves and encourage me to keep going. The material was challenging for me as I didn't have a computer science or mathematical but really sparked my passion confidence to keep going deeper.   Read less

Data Analytics was always something I avoided touching in my career as it always sounded very complicated and I always had a team who could assist me getting reports without getting my hands dirty. Finally, I decided to face my fears and joined this classed hosted by BrainStation. After a few weeks, I have to say my perspective changed completely. Spending time with 2 professionals in the area and learning how to analyze data made me realize this can actually be fun! You can learn a lot about your processes, customers, and opportunities by simply going over your own information. He guided us towards creating compelling analysis and to detect where brands can find opportunities for growth using paid advertising and optimizations to improve online reputation. My time at Brainstation was one of great difficulty and great learning. I was a student of the full-time, 3-month software engineering cohort of the bootcamp in New York City. I engaged the material with very little background in coding, professionally or personally, but I committed the full extent of my discipline because that is what the depth and breadth of the content of the bootcamp demanded of me. My instructors, Matt Meyer and Eli Boninger, provided generous support along the way both in and out of class, during the week and even on weekends. This dedication Brainstation had for us reflected the dedication they demanded of us in order to reach the skills expected of us by the end of the bootcamp. So dedicated is Brainstation to our success, that it felt to me like the choice of instructors was intentionally designed to cater to different learning styles. Eli gave excellent lectures at a brisk pace, providing us with an understanding of the material which was easy to recall in short notes. Matt, on the other hand, was a fantastic resource for in-the-moment digression on lecture topics to gain a full understanding ahead of lab assignments. They both ensured their availability to assist with gaps in understanding regardless of their teaching styles, but they also maintained a healthy boundary on their help so as to make sure we can independently solve problems as we learned new material -- and if not independently, then with our classmates. Our class developed a strong sense of comradery, and we were proud to see each other's work upon the presentation of our capstones.

I am now engaged in their robust post-graduation career search program which involves bi-weekly meetings to check-in on progress, and expects weekly updates on our week-to-week goals in terms of both career searching (via networking and job applications) as well as the further development of our skills as software engineers. I am confident in the support, and look forward to a great entry to my new career. Read less

 I joined the bootcamp with only basic HTML and CSS knowledge, and by the time I finished, I was building full-stack web apps! The program is fast-paced, and you’ll feel like you need more than 24 hours in a day just to keep up. But the reward is well worth the effort. The instructors I had, Ed and Joseph, were incredibly helpful and made the intense learning process so much more manageable and enjoyable.
