JS fullstack bootcamp in Barcelona Code School

Amazing place and amazing team who will help to start your experience in tech from scratch or develop your skills more if you already have some experience. The program was intense and we also had the great opportunity to put our hands straight on the code and learn by practicing. The extra thanks of course go to people, who created the personal unique approach and support during all the time of the bootcamp and even after - George & Pawel!

The best experience i've ever had

The Barcelona Code School bootcamp is perfect for both beginners and those who want to enhance their skills in web development. Personally, I enrolled in the program to improve my knowledge of JavaScript and it exceeded my expectations. Pawel and George were always helpful and provided assistance whenever I needed it. I highly recommend this bootcamp to anyone who wants to become a better developer or pursue a career in web development.

Fun and Intutive

The experience is simply amazing! From the beginning until the end of the course, George and Pawel's unwavering support and guidance made the journey truly remarkable. The course was meticulously planned, creating a well-structured content framework with exercises that solidified my understanding. They went beyond teaching and served as mentors, encouraging exploration and different approaches. Their patience in addressing questions ensured a clear foundational knowledge.
One impressive aspect was their commitment to reviewing and providing feedback on our code, enhancing solutions, and refining programming skills. The small batch size fostered collaboration, establishing meaningful connections with students and instructors. This personalized attention was a key reason I chose this course.
Even after the course, George and Pawel remained in touch, offering guidance on work and projects. Despite health issues during the course, they accommodated my needs, allowing me to progress at my own pace while receiving the same level of instruction.
Thank you both for an absolutely wonderful experience!

Barcelona Code School Review

It was an excellent course. The program is super complete, it becomes very bearable and entertaining. The teachers are really supportive, patient and very committed to student learning. You learn how to code web pages and mobile apps. I finished the course with one mobile app published on AppStore. I highly recommend it!

Great and fulfilling experience

I did the Javascript in-person Full-Stack Bootcamp and I highly recommend it if you have no prior experience in programming (like myself). It is hard at first to wrap your head around all the knowledge you will have to digest but it is definitely worth it if you remain patient since from zero you'll manage to build your own desktop and mobile app. The teachers are really kind and great : very patient and do care about helping you understand and start your career in coding. So do not hesitate further  :)

Glad I did it

I finished the coding bootcamp teaching javascript, react, express and react native. The teachers were really good, really cared about helping us learn. They were always willing to answer our questions and give us guidance, and they were very understanding when we struggled. I learned enough to land a job and now I am focusing on going deeper into the frontend development. The curriculum covering everything we need to know to start as juniors, and after that only sky is the limit :) In addition to teaching us how to code, the bootcamp also helped us with things like building our resumes and finding jobs. This was really helpful because it gave us the skills and confidence we needed to succeed in the real world. Overall I would definitely recommend this bootcamp to anyone who wants to learn how to build websites. The teachers were great and the program was really helpful.

Recommended place for learning code.

I knew from Barcelona Code School from a friend that did a similar bootcamp. I contacted George and had a talk with him on remote, and also went to see the school before starting the bootcamp. The key points for me were the ratio of teacher/student (2 teachers 3 students in my case), that made me think that we could get a much more personal help (which was completely true) and the competent price.I started the bootcamp without any JavaScript background, just by doing the pre-course that the school hands you and some small amount of extra preparation. The way of learning that we had was doing the theory classes first, and then doing blocks of very well thought exercises for the rest of the day. That worked very well for me, because  the exercises were tricky and after getting stuck and asking the teacher you can really understand how it works, and that there are many ways to make something work. In HTML/CSS block, we also worked in doing our own portfolio. After the first 5 weeks of classes, when all the stack needed for a full-stack website is covered (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, Express and MongoDB), we started the project block, that consists in thinking about a full-stack website idea and making it into reality. Here is where you learn the most, where you start getting familiar with technologies like React.js and to implement specific functionalities for the website needs. After 2/3 weeks working on the project and finishing it. We did the React Native block, which consist of 1 day of theory class (it's very similar to React.js, so there is no need for more classes) and then started the mobile app project, that took the rest of the course. You finish this course with a full-stack website, a full-stack mobile app and some good exercises that could also work for your portfolio if done properly. When the course is over, you really feel prepared to get into the work market, you know the top demanded technologies and have enough confidence to pass technical tests in job interviews. Some of us even had some real interviews/tests during the bootcamp, thanks to the connections that the school has with hiring companies.I also have to say that the course is really intense, and I suggest being well-prepared before starting it, doing as much pre-work as possible.Overall, it has been a super nice experience for me. I feel that I've learned really good  skills for the job market, and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to learn coding.

Totally worth it!

If you want to boost your coding skills, gain confidence with code and start thinking as a developer, I strongly recommend you BCS! Bootcamp is very challenging so you need to be prepared- finish all pre-course challenges and lessons that BCS provide to you before starting a course. Before I started the Bootcamp I was very doubtful about myself taking a path as a web developer, but now after graduation, I'm 100% sure that this is what I want to do. I even started to be invited to recruitment processes for a developer position before finishing it. George - the main teacher is very helpful, but he won't do anything for you, he will show you the way to find and fix your own mistakes so you can understand the code as best as it's possible and create good coding habits.

Best Bootcamp in town

I was seriously surprised by how good this bootcamp was. I learned to create full websites all by myself. I am currently working in the industry making more money than I did before and ACTUALLY enjoying my work.

Best decision ever

I finished the Javascript Full-Stack Bootcamp, the experience was the best learning experience I had so far, both George and Stefano has helped and guide me through the Bootcamp,  teaching and supporting me with patience.I was afraid to start the course because I thought that it was going to be too hard for me, but they make it really easy to try and learn as much as possible,  if you get stuck on something, they will explain again everything in a different way to make sure you really understand the topic/exercise.I did have experience with html/css before, but I really think that you can finished the course without previous knowledge if you take time on the materials they send you before starting,

Hell of a ride!!

I came from totally different discipline and had no knowledge about coding at all. The boot camp was a journey to overcome a lot of obstacles and to succeed. It was by far the best decision what I made. It brought me a different point of view on how to approach a problem not only code-wise but also in life. George and Stefano were awesome and patient teachers and I’m very grateful being a part of the BCS and made friends for life. I would highly recommend ”this” course but I do want to ”state” take your time ”for each” of the chapters of the pre-course it well definitely save you a lot frustration, ”else” you’ll find out😜.

BCS Full-Stack Bootcamp

When I first signed up for the course, I saw it as an opportunity to expand my skills and improve my CV, allowing me more options to choose from in the job market, I did not expect it to have this big a change on my way of approaching problems. The course itself is intense, I found myself frustrated alot of the time, now looking back at those days I find them funny, but I truly remember days where I felt really discouraged and blocked, not because of a problem with the curriculum or instructors, but simply because of the number of new concepts I was trying to wrap my head around, but the further we went into the course, the less frustration I felt, and the more excited I became about adding more and more skills to my portfolio. Frustration will be there regardless, but the instructors at BCS did a genuinly amazing job guiding me through it, especially when I think back at it now. At first I was a bit annoyed that my answers weren't being answered like I wanted them to be, and this will probably happen to you as well, but again, the farther we got into the course, the more I understood that I was asking the wrong questions somewhat, and the answers I was getting weren't the necessarily the ones that would solve my problem at the time, but they were the answers that would make me go on to be the best coder I can be. So in a way, the most beneficial help my insturctors gave me was: knowing when to tell me how to fix a problem and push through the frustration and at other times knowing when to give me a small hint and let me go research a problem all on my own without making it too easy. The layout of the course was really logical, it felt as if we had a natural progression among the topics, starting with the light stuff such as HTML/CSS and getting to know the ins  and outs of JavaScript, and then moving on into the Front-end and Back-end centered programs, such as React, React Native and Express, and finally the course ended with the project period which was when everything truly came together, all the frustration and growing pains I went through during the early period of the course were replaced with productivity and fist-thrusts whenever a component finally worked like it should.I would say that the course definitly changed my way of thinking, and this became more apparent in the period after the course, where the training wheels fell of so to speak, and I started coding on my own, something that seemed like a real challenge when I was still attending the class, but the good research habits I learned during the course, and my instructors always being ready to give detailed and fast help even until now have made a seemless transition. This course will taught me how to approach coding problems in a really efficient and productive way, it allowed me to explore more of my creativity simply because I have so many more tools at my disposal now and it has aided me greatly in a professional sense as it has afforded me many new opportunities. I would recommend it to anyone trying to open new doors in their professional careers, or trying to find new avenues to express their creativity and individuality

Awesome!

Barcelona Code School has a great curriculum and structure. The teachers are definitely the most incredible assets. They complete each other, allowing you to grow in many ways. You are able to learn in every step of the process, as much as you want, they are there for you, they are very inspiring and supportive. They give you a personalized treatment, respecting your background, your pace and your goals. The atmosphere is cozy, integrative and fun. The batches have small groups of students which allow us to connect easily, supporting each other and expanding our network.  There we are also able to exchange experiences with the ux/ui designers, which is a plus. I had a great time. I am very thankful! Learn JavaScript is not easy at all (at least not for me and my sociological mind! ), but with this guys, this challenging journey can also be fun! Definitely worth it! I highly recommend it!

I wish I had done this before

I took the Full Stack JavaScript Bootcamp to understand better what my partners were doing at work. I knew it was going to be a challenge, it's a lot to be taught in such short period, and I wasn't excited about it at all. Happened that through this school I became fond of programming, and now I feel like working with it too. I wish I had done this before.

The course goes very fast, as expected. Most of the time we were doing exercises and that gave me a certain fluency in programming even I was surprised about. Being frustrated sometimes was inevitable so I gave up trying to be good at anything while learning, I just took notes and tried to absorb as much information as possible in that period. Do not think they will explain every single detail, there's no time for that. Somethings just work, I took notes and reviewed it later by myself on my time - every night and weekend. The extra effort definitely paid off, I was complimented in my exercises and even managed to help other classmates.

George and Stefano, my lecturers, have wide experience in teaching international students. All explained in clear English and step by step. Both made the perfect combination for me as a student. Super George has many years of experience to share and Saint Stefano understands well the student's point of view, they could find the best way to help me get over my obstacles and grow.

They keep on updating their material to better fit today's needs. It's an unforgetable experience, amazing people, and the investment pays off itself in no time. I learned enough to be able to start working but also to continue learning by myself. The course definitely reduces the struggle of learning coding.

Life Changing Course

I came from Ireland with some knowledge of WordPress and a minimal understanding of HTML, CSS and zero Javascript. I successfully completed Bootcamp with a very comprehensive understanding of HTML, CSS, solid grounding in JS and more enough exposure to React, React Native, Mongo DB to continue on my own.

The course has given me so much. I mean, I have a developed my own professional work flow consisting of Sketch, XD, Figma. Sublime, Envision, React, Cloudinary, Netifly, Digital Ocean and I've been exposed to amazing resources like Materia UI, Medium, Xcode etc. It's been life changing. I've been introduced to this industry and met life long friends. (How can we do it? Let's do together :) It's a personable environment, the teaching is some of the best I've received and I've graduated from three universities. It's high intensity, consistent affirmation and I am proud to have been a graduate of the Barcelona Code School.

Amazing experience !

I ` ve been thinking about following a bootcamp for a while and finally did it. It has been a great decision to
follow the full-stack course at BCS.

The course is intense but you can manage it with an effort. I`ve started studying javascript on my
own a couple of months before the bootcamp , maybe it helped me. In the end you use javascript during all the course.
The technologies we've learnt were the latest like React or React Native.

The instructors and the team were affables and they know what they are talking about. When you get stucked there are
always willing to help and actually resolve your doubts.

'From zero to hero'

The course motto really caught my attention. It seemed a bit too much, but definitely very bold
It was intense, fast and I only noticed how much I had learned in the last week when I was writing the code for my first Mobile App.
I was in the Jan-Mar 2019 Full-stack JavaScript Bootcamp and coming from a completely different background (I'm a bachelor in Sciences with major in Biomedical Sciences) I have to say that it was hard in the beginning. I had to study a lot, including after classes and during the weekends, but it is totally doable. The projects are interesting, there are a lot of exercises to keep on training and the support that they all gave me made a huge difference!
Now, as a Junior Developer they are helping me with all that I need to find an internship/job.
I'm grateful for the awesome job that George, Antonello and Margarita did and continuing doing.

Bootcamp JavaScript Full Stack

I attended the bootcamp from January to March 2019. It was a great experience where I  learn from experienced people but I also had fun.
Before starting I didn't know how the course would be but it surprised me how much I learn in just 9 weeks.
What motivated me to choose the school was the curriculum they offer with the possibility to learn not only about web apps but also mobile apps.
If you are starting the bootcamp you should know that it is a tough course because you learn a lot in such a short time and you have to work hard doing all the projects and exercises but then you will be happy with all you achieve.
Sometimes when we learn new things I was concerned because it was too much information to work with and I felt like I didn't understand the point but then in the practice time I realised that I got all the concepts and I was able to work with it. Also we had a great support from the teachers.
We attended different activities as a group and we were invited to 4YFN and Mobile Congress which was a huge experience.
George, Antonello and Margarita had done a really good job!

Very happy with BCS!

I attended Barcelona Code School,  Aug - Oct 2018 and was very happy with the experience.  I had previous programming and Javascript,HTML,CSS experience, and had been trying to teach myself web development.  Because of this I had been slightly concerned that these sections would move too slowly for me.   However, with the video lectures to supplement the live lectures, I could go at my own speed.  I also found that, even though I knew a lot of the material, the 8 hours a day of class was amazing ‘practice, practice, practice’.  I felt much more solid afterwards and certainly had some knowledge holes filled in.  Having the experienced teachers helped me learn fast.  I was new to backend programming and even though there was a lot of material, I felt like I came out at a much more experienced level.  There’s still a LOT to know and a lot MORE to learn, but that is the nature of this industry – so get used to it!

I chose Barcelona Code School because they had a focus on REACT and REACT-native. (I live in Barcelona) I wanted to learn these because they are the IN-DEMAND skills right now in Boston (my previous home) – plus I knew they were pretty cool.  I had tried to teach myself REACT too, so I had a start, but there’s nothing like having a teacher.  The other code camps say they have a one evening special workshop in REACT if people are interested, but how could that be enough?  The course is taught all in English and the teachers were very helpful in answering all my questions so that I understood the concepts and techniques.

I had been thinking about code school for many years, but the cost of any code school seemed high.  I tried to teach myself, and plodded along, sometimes getting blocked for days on what I knew were stupid problems that could be solved by someone with understanding in 5 seconds.  Then this year, I watched some kids graduating from university and realized that they hadn’t tried to ‘teach themselves BIOLOGY’.  You could do it, but it would take 100 times longer.  Teachers are important!  So I finally decided to enroll.  I wish I had done code camp 5 years ago.  I would have been working all these years making up the tuition cost in a month or 2 (I was in the USA).

Barcelona Code School was perfect for me in that it wasn’t too long and wasn’t too expensive.  (AND ladies – there are scholarships and fundraisers for women out there—www.f6s.com/futurefunded).

Plus, I love having access to the videos and class notes, so I can go back and look things up and review.  (Which I needed to do to take lots of job application technical tests)

After the course was done, the school sent my name out to recruiters and I got LOTS of calls.  I have had many interviews – and have some good possibilities.  I am currently in serious talks with 3 excellent companies.

So, I am very happy with my decision to go to BCS.

Javascript Full-Stack Bootcamp

Coming from a totally different background , doing a bootcamp wasn't an easy decision for me.But this is definitely the best decision I've ever made during my 18 month life in Barcelona. I've always been interested in programming but never really took it seriously until this bootcamp. I found my real passion and I'm proud of myself finishing this super intense course with a few presentable projects. The instructors are very nice and always willing to help whenever you have a question, so don't hesitate to ask questions! They are always trying to make sure nobody is falling behind. The course is well organized and they are constantly improving the curriculum to make sure you can learn the most trendy and useful technologies. Anyway, don't waste your time here reading reviews, just go sign up for a course and start an amazing journey!!
