A big reason I chose Springboard was for the mentorship they offer. My mentor (who is an experienced UX designer) was nothing but supportive and encouraging throughout. I have heard of other students with mentors that they didn’t have a great experience with. However, Springboard has a VERY responsive support team, and I’m sure they’d be quick to act on that if it’s ever brought up. They are very friendly and accommodating. Mentor meetings occur once a week, and my mentor gave me feedback on my four projects, job advice, my portfolio, and more. I honestly don’t know where I’d be without a mentor. In addition, we had career coach calls with recruiters in the tech industry that were really educational as well. I feel more of these could have been beneficial for us, but I also haven’t experienced any of the post-completion coach calls, which are every two weeks to report how the job search and networking is going, and to get tips/feedback. It seems like the program genuinely cares about us even post-certification, rather than just sending us off in the discouraging-at-times job search. I haven’t experienced the job guarantee “rules” yet, but there are a few parameters (which seem reasonable to me) to follow in order for the job guarantee to apply. I also really benefitted from the mock interviews. I feel I got a good general idea of what to expect. They were realistic and I genuinely can’t imagine finishing a UX bootcamp without knowing how the interviews run (including whiteboard challenges). Finding a program that was self-paced was important to me for two reasons: the first being that I was in a different timezone, so online live classes to attend was not realistic for me. Second, I found other bootcamps that were just 4 months. While that may be advantageous for those who are rushing to get a job, I didn’t want to rush my projects and portfolio creation. Since this was my first time learning about UX, I wanted to soak all the learning in without rushing too much. And I’m so glad I did. It’s a lot harder than people think to discipline yourself to complete the course with a goal in mind (eg: I wanted to finish in 6 months, as I didn’t have a full-time job and could devote all my time to the course, but instead it took +/- 12 months!) Another plus was that articles we had to read were mostly written by professionals in the field AND written with personality, vs a textbook reading. It made learning much more enjoyable and kept us in the current trends of design. Again, I can’t speak on how my post-completion experience as I’m just beginning, but I can’t imagine it being really negative thanks to Springboard’s support.

The best part of Springboard is the mentorship. My mentor provided me with weekly feedback & was a sounding board for my concerns. She was excellent, and I know I wouldn't have gotten a great experience without her. I also really enjoyed the industry design project- where I got placed with a real company and got to practice my new skills in a real world environment.

I wasn't sure which bootcamp to go with before starting UX Design, but I decided on Springboard based on reviews and my own schedule. I am so glad I did! It is completely online and done at your own pace, which worked perfectly with my weird work schedule. The mentors and career coaches are overall very helpful and seem to have your goals and success in mind. At times calls were canceled last minute, but other than that I had virtually no problems. Definitely recommend Springboard!

I recently finished the UX UI career track certification after a little over a year of full - time studying. After researching numerous bootcamps, I was so hesitant about the price but felt SB had the most to offer. I can say it was worth every penny. I will recommend to complete the course slowly in order to soak in the material and capitalize on all the resources the course offers.I wasn't sure how'd I'd feel after graduation, but I can say I feel confident and prepared going into applying for jobs. The career coaches and mentors are really unmatched, they have such a passion for helping students break into the industry and are so knowledgable with many aspects of the career transition. The best part of the course was the industry design project where you are placed on a real company to complete a project. I'm so thankful for SB because now I am officially interning with the startup company that I was placed on. If you are in between choosing a bootcamp - go with Springboard. Transitioning into a new career can be overwhelming, but SB has made me feel supported all the way through.

I'm grateful for my Springboard experience and the opportunity to learn by doing! My mentor's support was by far what moved the needle for me in terms of my learning. Thank you, Springboard!

I really enjoyed the program! A few key factors on why I chose Springboard was because of the mentorship and portfolio help that they offered. The mentorship was really helpful, we would meet once a week and their mentors are really educated and experienced within the field, they would always provide good insights, feedback, and help you develop your next course of actions. The projects that you work on within the program all have different objectives so it doesn't feel like you're just working on the same project.Springboard also provides extra resources such as job coaches, servers with other students and other help sources. Overall, I really liked the experience Springboard offered, I think there were just so many perks that even until today I haven't used some of them. Highly Recommend!

I just completed my UI UX bootcamp with Springboard and I loved the way they guided you through the process! Their interface was very goal motivated. Weekly meetings with a mentor helped give me the professional feedback I needed on my work. Would definitely recommend and 100% worth it!

I'm a current UI/UX track bootcamper. My mentor just "disappeared" about a month ago and I've been mentor-less for a month now. One morning, I just got an email saying that XXX is no longer my mentor anymore and I would be rematched with a new mentor without any further explanation. The rematched mentor did not show up to our weekly 1:1 meeting. I complained to the student advisor, who matched me with a new mentor. A new mentor, again, did not show up to the 1:1 weekly meeting as well.Three weeks have passed by, and I'm still mentor-less. I've finished my last project and a rough draft for all of my case studies and my portfolio, but there's no dedicated mentor who could review them thoroughly with me. I want to move forward but the bootcamp student success team (if there is any) isn't helpful in my case.

Springboard UI/UX Design Career Track Certification is everything the website says it was going to be. No lies no frills, builds up your core UI and UX design skills and apply them to 3 or 4 projects that you can put on your portfolio (which the curriculum also helps up build!). Springboard does a great job preparing you for post-completion - the dreaded job search. Springboard has career modules embedded in the curriculum that focuses solely on representing yourself as the best UI/UX Designer you can be, and even gives you interview practice and presentation practice. You and your career coach will go back and forth week after week, job application after job application, interview after interview, until you land your first job!I was offered a job as a User Experience Designer prior to completion, so I never fully utilized the post completion career coaching all students has access to (regardless of your job guarantee status). BUT, that goes to show how well Springboad does in preparing you for the UI/UX Design field!

I had great experience. I highly recommend students to go through Springboard if they want to ch nage their career.

I had a pretty fulfilling experience with Springboard. At first, I was assigned an unprofessional mentor who rarely showed up, and when the mentor did, it was 20 mins late and our call would last 5 minutes. This lasted for a month and as a result - i learned incorrectly. This was a HUGE bummer, especially because I was paying $1,300 a month for stellar mentorship. I was paired with a new one who was great, but eventually ended up leaving months later due to a massive pay cut. My third, and last, mentor was absolutely fantastic. I truly wish i had been assigned her from the start. She was patient with me while also challenging and holding me accountable. I relearned missed concepts from my first mentor. I realized I hadn't come up with the strongest solutions for my 2 capstones so I went back and my mentor was proud and cheered me on the whole way. I wished i would've had my mentor from the beginning, she truly made the experience amazing. Regarding content, i'd say cirruculum is good, but you can really learn it all on your own. i personally love how its laid out, its a better set up for me personally. just know that most of the material is Medium articles. The career support is awesome and i'm really excited to utilize it more. i do wish it was more of a requirement to meet with career coaches throughout the program.

The Springboard boot camp was quite the experience, but well worth the effort. The staff was very knowledgable about the field of study (in my case UI / UX Design.) I was quite satisfied with the school and learned much. My mentor was also incredibly helpful as well as my coaches. I highly reccomend this boot camp.

My experience at Springboard during the UI/UX Design Career Track was very positive. The support staff at Springboard were incredibly helpful and they always responded in a timely manner any time I had a questions or needed help. My mentor was passionate, knowledgeable, and an active part of the UI/UX community. Throughout my entire journey, my mentor was supportive, warm, and kind. The career coaches were wonderful as well, offering up a ton of wonderful advice on how to better prepare you for your job searches and interviews. The curriculum's learning material was sourced from many knowledge sources and for the most part was created by someone outside of Springboard, which might be a turnoff for some and could certainly be found on your own, however the way the material was presented and utilized insured students came away with knowledge. The capstones and IDP were wonderful for learning and were great additions to my portfolio. Overall I'd highly recommend Springboard's UI/UX Design Career Track. My advice is stay on top of your course work, learn and try new things, and connect with other students, alumni, mentors, and coaches. Use the resources Springboard provides you in order to take full advantage of the course. If you find something isn't working properly or you're having an issue with anything, reach out to the support staff and they'll assist you.Pros:Amazing mentorsMany career coaches to choose fromIndustry design project provides real world experiencePlentiful resources at your disposalFinish the course feeling preparedCons: Price a bit high when compared to similar coursesCourse relies heavily on information from other websites and creatorsIDP could use more structuringIf you want to know more, or want to discuss UI/UX feel free to reach out to me, Joseph Calloway on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/joseph-calloway/If you'd to complete the course yourself here's $750 off your course: https://www.springboard.com/invite/GT3VC

I felt Springboard had great exercises and projects that helped set me up to build a strong portfolio. I really enjoyed how I could take the course at my own time. It felt less overwhelming. I enjoyed my time with it!

This course was pretty challenging, but definitely a rewarding experience if you’re up for putting in the work. The mentor meeting were helpful and the career coaches were excellent. I would definitely recommend Springboard if you’re looking for a flexible way to switch career paths.

The curriculum was organized and made it easy to stay on track. All of the articles and videos were very helpful in order to understand each piece of designing. I loved that they include working on your resume, LinkedIn, interviewing, and other things to set you up for getting a job. Also, you have a lot of support and other resources to help you throughout your entire experience.

Springboard is overall a great boot camp for those wanting to break into tech. Mentors and career coaches are great and the curriculum goes over the core of what you need to know. Some cons are the price and the fact that the website UI needs some work.
Graduate 2022
The weekly 1 on 1 meetings with my dedicated mentor and the feedback on my projects as well as industry advise was very valuable. The student community is strong, most everyone is generous with their time and happy to share resources and to network.

Make sure you sign up with REALISTIC expectations! For reference, yes I graduated, and yes, I got hired. I see so many 5 star reviews on here, but what percentage of these students actually got hired after 6 months? I'll be as honest as I can.The sales reps at Bootcamps like Springboard commit a serious crime in how they set unrealistic and ridiculous expectations. The job market for UX designers is tough. It can take years to break in, and many starting salaries for entry level in-person positions are under 60k /yr. NOT six figures, (like the “selective”* sales rep at Springboard would have you believe). *(Selective as they claim to only accept 20% of applicants. Not true. what they really mean is: only 20% of applicants accept them)The following claim is not true:“Yes, it will cost you $10,000 dollars, but you will make that all back within 3 weeks after you get hired!” - My Springboard sales rep If they were truthful, they would have said: “Yes, it will cost you $10,000 dollars, and then you will job search for a full-time job for up to 12 months. You can get a job guarantee, but we really would hate to give you that money back, so we will extend the 6 months as long as possible, and use any excuse possible to disqualify you from it. Finally, IF you actually end up getting a job, you will make the $10,000 back in three months because the starting rate for entry-level is only 60k. - Oh, and that’s not counting all of the money you spent trying to support yourself while you search for jobs full time or the money you could have made during the time spent in the Bootcamp working a second job.”
_ As if transitioning to a new career wasn’t financially stressful enough, Springboard would have you PAY them thousands of dollars, and in the end, there is a high chance you will have no job to show for it a year later. It’s all over my LinkedIn feed. If you sign up, make sure you are aware of this issue and the gamble you are taking. The only valuable part of Springboard is the mentorship. The hiring manager reviews are not great and are subjective, with little actionable advice beyond a “well done!”, or “you are missing this thing from the rubric that hiring managers could care less about…” In general, for the “Hiring manager reviews,” I’d estimate that they spend as little as 5 minutes on each case study, and give hardly any input. Meanwhile, an actual hiring manager looks at that Case study they passed as “would interview,” rolls their eyes, and thinks: “Oh, another fictitious, recycled, bootcamp project, NEXT.” - *Deletes you from the list* -The projects for your final portfolio are not impressive in the slightest to hiring managers unless you go well above and beyond the SpringBoard curriculum. Even the IDP is not impressive on your portfolio. I had to find my own “real” internship and go far above and beyond SpringBoard to land a job. I also got severely lucky in that I got paired with a mentor who could push me to go above and beyond Springboard and make an impressive portfolio, something most students won’t get but does speak volumes about the potentiality of getting a high-quality mentor. The percentage of Springboard UI/UX track graduates who get hired after 6 months is embarrassingly low because getting hired after 6 months with three fake projects and one two-week real-world project on your portfolio is unrealistic. The curriculum itself is merely a collection of links to web pages you could google and find yourself. Also, the quality of the articles is very poor, and grammatical errors can be found everywhere in some articles.
Let’s summarize. You’re paying $1300+ a month for:
a short 30 minute weekly mentor call
on demand mentor calls that are so booked you need to schedule them 30 days in advance (and are not that helpful)
Career advisors who are helpful overall but not necessarily experts about what makes a good portfolio, (the most important aspect)
A bunch of community advisors and managers who you will never talk to or need help from, but you are still paying for
An “industry design project” that is so short, that you have next to nothing to show for it (unless you get lucky)
A sketchy job guarantee with a thousand words of fine details, which according to students I’ve spoken to, will take any opportunity to disqualify you from it or extend it for months
And, again, the curriculum can be found by google searching for it all yourself
Let’s be honest. All you really need to pay for is the mentor, and maybe a resume expert /career coach who has lots of experience working with UI/UX designers.
My advice? Find a mentor on your own (from your personal network, or just cold message sr. UX designers on LinkedIn). Pay them directly. Something nice, like 500$+ a month (or hire 3 mentors, and pay them all 200$ a month). That would be a great incentive to have them spend more time on calls with you and answer more questions. Then find the curriculum yourself, read UI/UX books, and have your mentor guide you… And during the job search, hire an actual resume expert who has tons of experience in the UI/UX field. Also, you can always find your own “real” client projects. Just email the CEO of small companies and offer to work for free… They won’t turn you down. Springboard will have you work for a client, but you have to pay for an extra month, $1300, for the opportunity to do so… Additionally, not doing Bootcamp projects will set you apart from a large number of Bootcamp grads and give you a competitive edge in the hiring process because your projects would be unique.
To recap, finding your own client, mentor, and career advisors would be far cheaper and far more effective. Yes, SpringBoard does the legwork of finding them all for you, but is that worth 1300$ a month when you could simply hire them yourself? (And get a cheap google UX certification if you really want a cert). Further still, you can also make sure to pay the truly valuable people, (the mentors and career experts), a lot more money than they would get from Springboard, and also get a lot more help from them.Take control of your transition to UX yourself. Hire the right mentor and resume expert for the job and pay them well. Never trust a capitalist corporation with your hard-earned money unless it’s absolutely necessary. If I could do it over, that’s what I would do. If at least one person found this transparent review helpful, I would feel very happy 🙂

Springboard gives students a thorough foundation of UX/UI Design through a mix of online articles, videos, and projects. There is a lot to learn and to really absorb it all does take a long time. So making the time commitment of 4-5 hours a day is the biggest challenge, but the course work itself is not too difficult. You also meet with a mentor once a week, which is the best part. It really helps to have the professional feedback on your work and someone to answer design questions. If you think you'll really love UX then I'd absolutely recommend this course for helping you start your career.
