Fantastic Course and Wonderful Atmosphere

I started my TripleTen journey last year after medical events made me incapable of physical work. I took the medical leave as an opportunity to start working towards a new goal. My experience at TripleTen has been fantastic, the layout of the course is easy to comprehend and I feel that I learn something useful with each and every lesson. The lessons are very informative without feeling too overbearing, everything I have learned seems to fit into the reality of software engineering. There is a good balance between theoretical and practical knowledge. However, in my opinion the best part of the TripleTen are the people there to support you. There are tutors anyone can reach out to, a reviewer for each time you submit a project, and a success manager to help with anything else you may have questions about. TripleTen has built an incredible team of people who feel like they genuinely want to see each student succeed. I did some research about which program I wanted to go with regarding my software engineering career,  and I can honestly say that I believe I made the right choice.

Software Engineering program

During the pandemic I started my self-taught journey to become a Web developer, I often found myself lacking consistency and asking myself what should I learn next? As you already probably know there’s a never-ending learning journey ahead and as a self-taught learner back then I often felt discouraged. I reached the conclusion that I would benefit from a structured program. I am currently a Triple Ten student and I will break down why I chose Triple ten and what day to day looks like for me.

Why Triple Ten?
I am the only provider in my family and in order for me to be able to commit to a boot camp I needed to be able to keep my full-time job. But I did not want to sacrifice quality. For example, I wanted self -paced but I also wanted deadlines, timely feedback and a community. And that’s exactly what I found with Triple ten. As someone who was also on this website no long ago looking for an answer I would suggest to create a list of things you look for in a boot camp what are things that are negotiable. Write questions you have for the bootcamp. Schedule a call with the recruiters, and do a process of elimination of which program works best for you and your situation. If you need flexibility because you work fulltime , or you a stay at home parent and always have a hectic schedule I believe my review will be the most helpful as this is my current situation.

Interactive platform- This is where you work on your theory (lessons) and after each theory which mainly consist on reading and examining coding examples. Then you work on the task where you immediately have to put in practice what you learned. On this platform you also have a calendar which shows you the schedule for the office hours for your current sprint. My favorite feature is the deadline recommendations. It lets you know where you have to be in order to accomplish the deadlines. An example of this would be: Finish your theory in 8 days. It helps me plan my week without feeling overwhelmed just make tiny goals that at the end will allow me to complete my sprint within my deadline. It also has a Skillset section where you can keep track of the skill sets that you gain as you pass the sprints. Also, a search bar to search through the sprints. The platform is really straightforward and easy to use.

Feedback- This one was a big one on my list because as I was on my self-learning journey I often asked myself I know the code is working but am I doing it the right way? And it frustrated me because I would go to websites like Stack Overflow and everyone had a different way of successfully solving the same problem. I know that this won’t change of course but I am learning the best practices and why is the best practices. Once you are done with the theory plus tasks of your sprint you will work on your project. You will receive documentation on the requirements and a Figma link to the project. After you submit your project a Software engineer will go over your work and point out what you did correctly, what can be improved and what has to be corrected. This feedback has helped me grow tremendously.

Community- All the interaction with the community is through Discord. This is the main method of communication. Everyone is assigned a Success manager who is your go to person for extension deadlines questions about the program or if you need to schedule a one on one with the tutors. The times I have missed a deadline my success manager has always been understanding and always show encouragement for me to keep going. My family don’t understand how difficult to grasp the concepts are and is nice to know I have a go to person that completely understands where I am in my journey.

Tutors: If you are stuck during Theory part of the sprint or your project you post the questions on discord channel and tutor guide you. Also, each sprint they assign seniors or graduates as well to help tutors with assisting with questions when they(tutors) are offline. They also have co working sessions which I have not been able to participate due to my hectic schedule. They conduct Code jams I haven’t been able to participate but making it a goal to do so.

Career support- I am currently on sprint 8 therefore I can’t speak much on Job hunting as I am not there yet. What I can say is once you are on Sprint 4-5 you start getting lessons on job hunting, how to have an online presence, what recruiters look for. Before those sprints you also get lessons on the soft skills that are important and employers look for. One of the lessons I have enjoyed the most is the when they illustrate the day to day responsibilities of web developers as it gave me a clear idea and I was able to dig deep and really ask myself if this is what I want to do. I am also glad that they introduce git and GitHub really early into the program. You are added to the career discord channel and you are able to schedule one on ones with the career team. I haven’t done so because my main focus is learning and building right now. Putting into practice the lessons on the career portion of the program but with my main focus right now is to create a strong foundation.
With my review I truly hope you are able to get a clear picture on how this program works. Like previously stated I am currently on Sprint 8 there’s a total of 16 sprints. I have had personal challenges along this journey but I have truly felt I have a community behind me and no matter what IT GETS DONE. I truly hope this review was helpful to you reading it I wish you all the best in your journey!

Recommend for anyone trying to learn coding!

Transitioning to a career in Software Engineering is a significant challenge, and TripleTen recognizes the difficulties inherent in such a move. They provide crucial support to initiate your journey, offering resources such as tutors, study buddy programs, and regular check-ins from a community manager. My experience as a Project Manager, working closely with engineers and product managers, deepened my interest in the field. This led me to join the program with the aspiration of becoming an engineer, a decision I regret not making earlier in my career.Completing the 10-month bootcamp in early November stands out as the best decision I've made, solidifying my commitment to and passion for Software Engineering. While TripleTen is highly supportive of career transitions, there are essential considerations before committing:

Time Commitment: Despite being advertised as a part-time bootcamp, TripleTen requires a commitment of 20-30 hours per week. I undertook the program while working full-time, which proved to be a significant challenge. Although manageable, it demands substantial commitment and perseverance, involving 2-3 hours every night after work and 10-15 hours on weekends.
Learning Style: TripleTen's self-paced structure allows flexibility, with two weeks allocated for each sprint. While this format suited my situation, considering your learning style is crucial. Unlike other bootcamps with scheduled classes, TripleTen's approach may require additional self-directed learning and independent research.

Additional insights:

Tutors are accessible via Discord, even outside office hours.
Content is self-paced, with a two-week timeline for each sprint.
Opportunities for code jams and externships are available, but participation in externships may be unclear and wait-listed.
Office hours may be crowded, with limited time for individual questions, but some tutors go beyond scheduled hours to help.
Externship participation may be challenging to secure, and the process is not entirely transparent, potentially based on a wait-list system.

Enrolled after 2 years of self-study

I’ve been trying to learn coding for some time, mostly on my own. I explored various ‘Intro to IT’ marathons and a ton of free online courses. I learned here and there, on and off, over the course of 2 years.
By 2023, I started thinking about trying a bootcamp, especially after hearing numerous success stories from friends and YouTubers. There are tons of bootcamps, so picking one wasn't easy. I wanted one with good job support, real project work, and a decent price. That led me to Triple Ten. They had a deal with Women Who Code, so I got half off.
So far, I'm halfway through the program. I like that they use unique studying materials and the whole process is divided into sprints, so it feels like a real job in IT. They've got this system that checks our code automatically; however, the human touch isn't lost – real people also check every line of code. At first, getting feedback was hard, but now it's cool, and I'm looking forward to every review. I can definitely tell my skills are growing, as well as my self-confidence. Moreover, the community is incredibly supportive. Tutors, coaches, and other students are ready to help in the Discord chat. I also like the coding sessions and office hours where we can talk about our projects and get help with coding problems. I especially like opportunities to collaborate with other students. In December 2023, we had Code Jam, where we worked with students from other programs. I'm sure that my GitHub and LinkedIn will be full of cool projects that I will show to my future employer

I’m glad I picked this SE bootcamp.

When I made the decision to do a career change, I compared about 10 different bootcamps based on factors such as: duration, guarantees, pricing, reviews, resources available like tutors, and the curriculum. TripleTen (back then practicum) had high scores on all these, so went with them. They’ve been really structured, engaged, supportive, and amazing so far. I have a full time job so it was important that the program allows self pace, and so far it’s been great. I study after work Mon-Fri, and 8 hrs on a sat or sun. My favorite features of the program: interactive tasks for theory practice with feedback, real practice on assigned projects, career acceleration program/guarantee, and the availability of tutoring sessions (I’m able to hop on at nights AND on weekends!).

Don't Wait! It's Worth It!!

This course is it! Rewarding, Challenging, Flexible, Affordable, & Thorough. After years of wanting to break into the field of computer software, & months of research TripleTen checked all my needed requirements. I needed an affordable option that prepared me for a future career as a Software Engineer & open the doors into the industry. Between juggling work & family needs time is valuable, the course allows you to work around & with these schedules. I dedicate at the minimum of 15 hours a week, & usually try for 20 - 25 hours to complete the theory & projects. The course is very thorough, I am almost half way through as I write this & HTML, CSS, JavaScript & many other development tools are taught & used with even more as I will progress. There is a community of students, alumni, tutors, & career coaches that work together, encourage, & support students with the course & for future success. The tutors are extremely versed with the course & provide the needed education beyond what the theory already covers & have been available as I have needed at different times through out the day & night. This program comes with career support assistance & begins quite early on in the course preparing you for interviews & networking to add to the knowledge you receive for the job you will actually want. This is a challenging course that helps actually learn & not just provide the answers. After completing each project the knowledge gained is rewarding knowing how far you are from the beginning. I would advise anyone thinking about joining or a similar career path to do it, & use everything the course & community offers, I am glad I did.

Amazing learning experience at TripleTen

I started out at  zero when it came to computer programming knowledge. And when I took the practice course it was fun. So I was excited to get accepted to the course here at TripleTen. At first it was easy. I was learning HTML and CSS and I was just coming to me and I was thinking this was going to be the easiest 9 month course. Boy was I wrong. Lol. JavaScript hit me like a brick wall. And that’s when the real studying started. It was tough but I had the help of tutors and community managers to keep me going. They were there every step of the way to insure my success. I have since learned so much more. I am now halfway through the final project working with a study buddy. Something that wasn’t available when I first started but is another great resource here at TripleTen that got added along the way. It’s great. While working through lessons, and projects you can bounce your thoughts off of each other. And if y’all can not figure it out together you just lost a message for the tutors. Everyone at TripleTen is always so helpful and committed to your success. I would recommend the software engineer course to anyone looking to learn something knew or advance your career.  And I almost forgot the career acceleration program. They help you find a job your your money back!  What better guarantee?  You learn a knew trade that makes you more valuable in the job market and if they can not find you a job you get your money back as well. It’d a win win.

Achieving, challenging, informational

My journey with Triple Ten has definitely challenged me to achieve personal goals. The courses definitely start off easy as you go through the first few sprints. Where I was able to attain and utilize what I’ve learned in order to continue onto the next sprint. I am currently halfway through the curriculum where it does get challenging in some areas as I try to attain all the information on separate areas of coding and utilize each new piece of code into my projects. Triple Ten provides a ton of help needed to continue on if you’re in a bind on your projects. The tutors, grad students or even students currently in the program provide useful information and help which definitely relives stress from my shoulders. Overall I would definitely recommend Triple Ten if you’re looking to get into software engineering. The courses are great so far , the challenges, information, and communication for help is over the top.

It's an amazing and responsive boot camp ever

Hi, my friends! How are you doing? One of our tutors likes to greet students in this way before his tutor hours on Discord.      Recently, some people around me asked me about how is my boot camp study so far. Actually, I was trying to give a specific talk about my journey, but I always stuck by the heavy and complicated projects on my hands. However, I am a person who likes to share good and positive things with people so that I want to tell my story here with you people.        It's time to give a review for TripleTen now. Truly, it’s definitely worths to choose for the people who want to start a career in the tech field today. Frankly, I think it's way better than my journey of CS in UTD.       It's been 7 months of studying at this bootcamp for its SE(software engineering) program, and I want to tell some real points that I have experienced from my Journey in Tripleten. First of all, we have a globe tutor team, which they could be in Russia, Germany, the U.S., or other countries while tutoring you. Because of this, you will be able to know different people and cultures behind them. Second, it has a very mature community system in Discord, there, students are divided by their study pace. For instance, I am currently studying on Sprint 8, so that I can only have access from the very beginning Demo project to Sprint 8. if you want to access the higher level Sprint, then you need to finish your current project successfully first, which means your project must be 100% qualified and then will be able to get approved by the reviewer team. Speaking of our reviewer team, I really want to send a big heart to them in person, because the strict process of review they had given me for each project shaped me to be a pro of SE gradually. Especially, the red comments and green comments guide me to realize my errors and how to improve my codes in a better way. In my impression, I still remember one of my projects which relates to the Responsive page of web development, the review stage took me 13 times to get approved at the end. 13 times, isn't it crazy? In the first 5 times, I was a little bit upset with the picky reviewers, but after reading on each of the comments they left below the errors, I started to sigh out in front of the computer, I definitely need these comments in my project, it helps me to identify that why my code is wrong and how I can improve it. Over time, I can see a big improvement in my code work, and it brings more confidence into my mind as well.  Third, it's the on-demand questions answered in Discord. Once you post your question in the corresponding channel, you will get an answer from one tutor or two tutors quickly. and this amazing part always makes me feel like we are in a real tutor room of a college where it has a bunch of tutors sitting there and eyes searching those confused students. Additionally, we also have a bunch of pretty and passionate female community managers who always plan some amazing events in the virtual community. like the co-work session time, it gathers those boring and lonely souls together from the end of the internet and hangs out in the virtual world where the study vibe is so joyful and contagious. Fourth, the professional lecture we are using covers the full-stack knowledge and tasks throughout Project 1 to the last Project 16. In the lecture, you will see the author explains those boring and cold knowledge points in a lighthearted and humorous way. And it also has lots of amazing illustrations within each of the chapters. Fifth, the career channel that in Discord is the place to teach those ongoing students and graduates how to work on their resumes and interviews, and make sure they are get ready to be hired after graduating. Finally, except above 5 points, I personally want to thank our community manager Olya, who always pays attention to each small step I have achieved. Toast me when I get approved of the project, and encourage me when I doubt myself on coding. Truly, she is so responsible and sweet in my heart.                  Lastly,  I want to tell you that I once an interior designer for over 10 years in the design field. After studying abroad in the U.S., I started to have a strong mind which told me to be an IT worker for the rest of my life here. Fortunately, I love everything about Coding and have so much passion for it every day. Indeed, not everyone likes to work with a computer every day.  Meanwhile, you may have some different voices around you to tell you that coding is too hard and boring, plus, it will be easily replaced by the AI and Chatgpt shortly. Actually, these are the same things I had worried about before. However, I still think the tech field will have a high demand in the future since everything in our surrounding are fully high-tech, which requires tech people more than any era in the past. By the way, there is a dram I want to share with you. It happened two months before I settled down with Tripleten. Back then, I chose a three -months boot camp, which was named Great Learning. The reason I chose it is because it has a partnership with UT at Austin, and also the program is cloud computing. However, the sense of experience is bad and makes me really upset with it. Finally, I quit the boot camp after the first month of study. The reason I quit has three fatal reasons. First, it’s an Indian-based boot camp, so that it has to take Zoom meetings in the morning every day to balance the time zone between U.S. and Indian; Second, the students and teachers have a heavy accent in which is extremely hard to understand completely. As we know the program itself is hard enough, and now their accent makes it harder than ever; Third,  the communication platform is WhatsApp, which is much unprofessional when compared to the Discord. Fourth, it lecture was full of pre-filmed videos, and it was hard to make me understand its concept as a complete beginner. Typically, it’s a self-taught lecture like others, all you can see from all of the videos is one Indian professor who works in UT at Austin McComb school as the lecture said. Overall, it’s really not for me. Based on my two times of boot camp experiences above, it should be a good reference to let people who are currently struggling with transitioning careers and choosing bootcamp.      In conclusion, if you want to make a good income, and remote work at home, without age anxiety, and socialize issues, then the tech field might be a good decision to make. All in all, the threshold of the Tech field is quite higher than other fields, and you need to keep learning new things in this field later on. Based on all of these above, if you are ready, then take action to do it. If you are interested in #Tripleten after reading over my sharing, pls feel free to ask me for a referral code, which will help you save a lot of money from the tuition.

Having the Freedom of Time

The biggest thing that brought me to TripleTen is that the only restriction is a due date. I don't have to attend classes or wake up at a given time to reach the bare minimum. I have work and other responsibilities in my life, so I didn't find it possible to dedicate a specific time to my education. I personally don't like physical or digital classes and lectures as most of the information goes over my head and I end up having to search up the material anyway, so TripleTen mastering the hands-off approach has made me a big fan.I've been wanting to become a Software Engineer for a good portion of my life, but the biggest setback was how costly education is. I didn't like the idea of paying all of this money for courses that I don't need and for textbooks that will be hardly used. TripleTen provides everything you need and if at any point the material becomes confusing or you don't understand the next step in the project, many instructors have office hours and even a calendar of their next meeting just to answer your questions. My favorite feature of TripleTen's Bootcamp is the Theory. Rather than throwing a bunch of lingo and words at you and then dumping a project on your lap, you instead get detailed explanations, videos, and an on-site program tool to practice the material. Whenever I get stuck on something, I refer back to the theory and everything I need is right there. TripleTen is certainly a difficult bootcamp, but they're very aware of this fact. They offer deadline extensions and even up to 3 months of a break, no questions asked. Once again, giving you that freedom of time if anything at all happens in your life that may get in the way of reaching your deadlines. If there was only one problem I had with TripleTen, it’s that they’re always upgrading. While this in of itself isn’t a bad thing and by far has brought new features I’m glad to be a part of, it just means that their old material becomes outdated and their new material is too clean, too untested. Fortunately for us we still have access to the old material and TripleTen will let you know when something noteworthy has changed and what we as the students should do about it. I love TripleTen and I would gladly recommend it to anyone interested in any of the courses they provide.

Enjoyable and great learning experience

Before I decided to pursue a career in software engineering I had very little exposure to coding, but to enter the field of software engineering was motivated by a combination of curiosity, and the constantly changing technological landscape. Before committing to TripleTen I researched and tried out a couple of different coding programs and I found it hard to keep up with the curriculum which gave me uncertainty about the course and where it was leading me to. I found that TripleTen was the program that could work for me because of how structured the course material is, the interactive learning platform, the learning community, the career focus, and the assistance and mentorship that they provide. -Interactive Learning Platform: It was revolutionary to be able to code directly in the browser get immediate feedback and track my progress in real time making the learning process engaging and efficient. The project-based learning corresponded wonderfully with my learning style. By creating practical applications, I was able to put my academic knowledge to use in actual situations, making difficult topics understandable and approachable. It allows students to apply theoretical information to real-world settings, resulting in a better grasp of topics. -Support from the Community: The support community on TripleTen is a great source of ideas and help not just from tutors and community managers, a supportive environment was created by the willingness of other students to share their knowledge and experiences. Even though I have not fully used all that TripleTen has to offer I believe activity groups promoted a sense of community and camaraderie among students. Peer collaboration on coding projects and challenges is informative but sounds fun. It seems like an accurate reflection of how software development teams collaborate in the actual world. These workshops and activity groups at TripleTen are essential parts of the learning experience rather than merely extras. They look to have many benefits to developing new skills, and forming enduring relationships and have made learning to code both enriching and enjoyable.-Mentoring: Having a mentor who could offer advice, respond to my queries, and examine my work was quite helpful and the response times are spot on. Their advice not only helped me become a better coder but also gave me greater confidence. They establish a lively learning atmosphere where inquiries are welcomed and knowledge-sharing is prevalent.-Career Support: TripleTen's dedication to its students' success after the course may be seen in the inclusion of career-related content such as résumé workshops and interview practice. Each workshop was a gold mine of information, covering everything to mastering complex algorithms. They improved my problem-solving abilities while also extending my technical skill set.  Challenges were transformed into learning opportunities through interacting with other students, working together on group projects, and asking for assistance in the forum.-Hands-On Experience: The emphasis placed on project-based learning gave me practical skills that I could immediately put to use in the workplace. -Building Confidence: As I moved through the program and dealt with progressively difficult problems, I felt much more confident in my ability to code and solve problems. I feel a great deal of accomplishment especially when spending a long time troubleshooting a problem. -Career Transition: I'm sure when I get towards the end of the program I can take advantage of TripleTen's career-focused resources and support to get internships and subsequently a position as a software engineer. It also offers a route to a profession in technology and is more than just a learning platform. To those who are just beginning their coding journey, here are some tips and advice that worked for me:-Set Specific Objectives: Specify your objectives and develop a well-structured plan to reach them. Having specific goals can help you stay motivated and on course.-Keep Being Consistent: Success requires consistency. To gain momentum, give your study regular, concentrated time.-Challenges are a part of life: embrace them. Significant growth will result from embracing challenges and finding solutions.-Utilize Community: Interact with the coding community through websites like TripleTen or online discussion boards. Collaboration and the sharing of experiences are effective learning aids.-Other resources: It's okay to use Google or your favorite search engine to help you understand concepts or try out test coding. If you are more of a visual learner like me, TripleTen provides videos on some of the topics but you can take it one step further and search and watch videos on that specific topic. -Regular practice will help you become better at coding. To reinforce your learning, code frequently, work on projects, and look for coding challenges. It is advised that you should put about 20 hours of work into your studies but if time allows for it then try to get more hours in as much as you can. -Use mentors or seasoned professionals in the sector, if they are accessible. Their advice can be extremely helpful when tackling difficult subjects.-Create a portfolio of projects as you master new skills. When applying for positions, it will be essential to provide these concrete instances of your work.-Keep Up to Date: The tech sector is always changing. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the most recent trends and technologies in the industry.-Holding yourself accountable: It's understandable that life gets in the way and you are unable to get any coding done, just make sure to make it up as soon as possible or if you can get small tasks done with the time you have. Taking a break is highly encouraged to refresh your mind. -Have confidence in your capacity to learn and develop. Coding may initially appear difficult, but with perseverance and commitment, you can succeed. Finally, my decision to use TripleTen for my coding adventure was critical in my transition into a Software Engineer. The project-centric approach, structured curriculum, interactive learning environment, and strong community support provided by the platform were great tools. TripleTen not only offered me the technical skills but also the confidence and tools I needed to succeed in the profession. For those just starting out in coding, remember that with effort, perseverance, and the correct resources, you, too, can reach your goals in software engineering.

Software Engineering

I first heard about the TripleTen coding bootcamp through a friend and on Instagram, and it quickly piqued my interest as a potential pathway to a future career in coding. Currently, I'm on Sprint 9 out of 16 of the program, and I must say it has been quite a journey, one that's been both tough and incredibly fulfilling.

Overall Impression:My overall impression of the TripleTen coding bootcamp is highly positive. From the moment I joined, I found the community to be exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The program does a great job of fostering a supportive environment, especially if you reach out to the community managers and the tutors. They genuinely care about your success and are readily available to assist.

Curriculum:The curriculum at TripleTen starts with the basics, teaching the foundational elements of coding such as HTML and CSS. As you progress, the bootcamp dives into more advanced topics, with my current focus being JavaScript. Alongside the technical skills, they provide valuable insights into what to expect in the coding field. They emphasize the importance of perseverance and remind us that even seasoned professionals faced challenges in the beginning. The key is to keep at it and not give up.

Teaching Methods:TripleTen employs a well-rounded approach to teaching, combining reading materials, videos, and interactive lessons to enhance retention. The tutors are not only knowledgeable but also approachable and willing to guide you in finding answers, provided you're putting in your own effort and actively seeking solutions.

Pacing:The pace of the bootcamp is undeniably rigorous, reflecting the demands of the coding industry. However, what sets TripleTen apart is its willingness to work with students who are putting in the effort and communicating their needs. The support from tutors like Max and Kevin and community managers like Dina is invaluable in helping students stay on track.

Projects and Portfolio Building:One standout aspect of TripleTen is their emphasis on real-world projects. These projects not only deepen your understanding but also serve to build a robust portfolio, a valuable asset when you complete the course and start applying for jobs. TripleTen goes a step further by providing practical tips on how to apply for positions and what to expect in the job search process.

Community and Support:TripleTen has managed to create a vibrant and encouraging community that keeps students engaged and motivated throughout the program. This sense of community, fostered by dedicated individuals like Dina, Max, and Kevin, is a significant factor in the program's success.

Recommendation:While I haven't personally tried other coding bootcamps, my experience with TripleTen and its dedicated team, including community manager Dina and tutors Max and Kevin, has left me with an overwhelmingly positive attitude towards their program. I wholeheartedly recommend TripleTen to anyone looking to embark on a coding journey. Whether you're a beginner or have some coding experience, TripleTen's supportive community, comprehensive curriculum, and practical approach to learning make it an excellent choice.

In conclusion, my journey with TripleTen has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding, and I'm confident it can be the same for anyone who chooses to enroll in this exceptional coding bootcamp.

My experience as a Software Engineer student

I am currently on Sprint 8 of TripleTen's Software Engineering Bootcamp, and I'm just starting to scratch the surface of the more advanced programming concepts. I'd describe myself as tech savvy as I've had some experience working with websites, basic code, and editing software but I did not expect this bootcamp to be this rigorous. The term "difficult" doesn't even begin to describe the intensity of this bootcamp. This bootcamp is hard work, and it requires someone willing to learn beyond TripleTen's curriculum. TripleTen does a great job laying the foundation of programming concepts and theory, and although their projects give you an opportunity to understand what you've learned, you'll also need to build side projects on your own to truly grasp these ideas. This isn't to TripleTen's shortcomings but rather something you'll have to learn to do as an aspiring developer. You never stop learning, and you never stop building.TripleTen's curriculum is impressive. It dives deep into theory, and the content behind their interactive platform is in depth. Naturally I wonder about how much extensive programming went into building such a platform. Although TripleTen's curriculum is impressive, during the more difficult sprints their lessons start to become convoluted. There are so many points to follow, and connecting the dots gets very difficult. I found myself re-reading the same lesson 4-5 times before having a slight understanding to what they were trying to teach. Some of these sections could use more video explanations to help students comprehend better. This is probably the only minor downside to the program that I've experienced so far. Although the more difficult sprints get confusing, TripleTen's curriculum still covers all of the relevant topics. The instructors are a huge help. They do a great job pointing you in the right direction without giving you the answers. In the long run this is beneficial to people who truly want to become software engineers that problem solve on their own. Instructors will respond with great detail and sometimes even send video recordings of themselves helping you with your bugs. Community managers are also very helpful. They're there to support you whenever you need an extension or a break. So far I'm enjoying the content they create for job assistance. The advice they give on creating an online presence, networking and all of the tools you need to enter the job market is valuable. But since I haven't started the career coaching program (available after graduation), I've put "Job Assistance" as N/A.My overall experience with TripleTen is a positive one. The instructors, tutors and community managers offer exceptional guidance throughout the program, and the curriculum is interesting and thorough. If you're thinking about pursuing a career in software engineering with TripleTen, be prepared to work harder than you can imagine. There's a reason software engineers are well compensated. It's a very complex and valuable skill to attain. If it were easy everybody would do it. Enrolling in TripleTen's Software Engineering Bootcamp proved to be both my most challenging endeavor and the most rewarding choice I've ever made.

Rigorous, Supportive, and Flexible Software Engineering Bootcamp!

I chose TripleTen (formerly Practicum) because of the opportunities for a flexible schedule, code review, the money-back job guarantee, and live tutors and community. I've been studying for the last six months and have learned a ton. I have been immersed in JavaScript and am starting to learn React at the moment. I'm hoping to broaden my career prospects and do a job that is more challenging daily. What has been great:The format -- the program is broken down into 2-3 week sprints that are modeled after the profession. This is my favorite part of the program. You can work independently on these projects after doing some lesson on the platform. The tutoring -- If you do get "stuck" or need some advice or guidance, there is live tutoring available through the platform every day. If you can't make it to a session, you can post your issue or question online, and many tutors will respond with a quick video or screenshots. The tutors are great and share their own professional experiences as software developers. They're such an asset to TripleTen truly. The code review -- In the projects, we push our projects to Github and receive feedback on our projects. The Code Reviewers are top notch and give excellent suggestions and point out when things are working. The flexibility -- Sometimes, you might need an extension or may get sick or need to take a week off. The program has breaks that you can take along the way. There are 8 week-long breaks and a month-long break if needed. There are other things that I can't comment on like the career program at the end--but they do integrate career lessons into the coding lessons along the way. At the beginning, they also said that there would be opportunities to do an "apiary" or a cooperative work experience project with a company. I haven't known many students to do these just yet, only one who finished as I was starting six months ago. I think there are limited opportunities, so it may be something to inquire about. I also thought there would be more opportunities through the program to do Code Jams or weekend coding competitions within the bootcamp, but there hasn't been any during my time there.I think for myself as a learner, I learn the most through doing the projects in the sprint. I don't really like going through the lessons on the platform. Each sprint, I probably do 3-4 days of working through the lessons before getting the project. I'm not sure if it's because I have former development experience that I get bored, but I think they could be more precise and less dry. I do know it's necessary to convey new content in some sort of way though.
Overall, I feel closer to being ready to apply to jobs that require HTML/CSS and JavaScript. I had been learning Python in the past. I'm hoping that this will give me the push to get a better job so that I can do more for my family. This program provides a strong structure along with support in order to grow as a developer.

Great learning environment

I'm still a student at TripleTen, and I've gone through 9 of the 16 total sprints so far. From the very first one, the information was presented in a clear and effective manner. The theory is comprehensive without being overwhelming, and the exercises are great reinforcement of each of the theory segments. The projects at the end of each sprint are direct applications of the information presented in the chapter, with just enough challenge to push your skills and solidify your learning. There's just enough guidance to let you figure out things own your own, or get help from tutors. Each sprint builds on past material very well, advancing your knowledge as the program goes along. The community support and engagement is great as well. Community managers and tutors are super responsive and helpful; the scheduled office hours for students to have a planned time to ask for help and questions are very useful as well. The tutors are very knowledgeable; they're always willing to help, and explain ideas beyond the scope of projects or sprints.TripleTen has been a great experience so far, and I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to get into software engineering.

Strong, Challenging, Community

I joined practicum (now TripleTen) after deciding to take a serious next step towards a career change. I was looking for a bootcamp that could fulfill a few things. I wanted it to be a strong bootcamp, with flexible hours. I work a full time job, and many other commitments, so finding something that was flexible was one of my top priorities. Many other bootcamps require you to join a live coding class, which I think is extremely helpful, but hard to commit to when you have other responsibilities. TripleTen allows me to work on my own schedule. I also find the coursework to be extremely strong, and progresses from easily to very difficult, which allows you to become accustomed to the platform, coding and learning. The community of learners is super strong helpful and encouraging. I have started close relationships with other students which has allowed me to 1) grow my network, 2) make friends in the field, and 3) get support from other students. We have created a community where we come together to support each other. The tutors are super helpful and are often available at many different hours of the day.
