Scaler Academy

Though I come from a CS background, I lacked in data structures, algorithms, and machine learning. Stuck in a service-based job, I aimed to switch to product-based work but lacked the skills. Scaler was suggested by a friend for advice. I did their course and learnt eevryday and now I'm more confident, better at problem-solving, and consistent. With Scaler's help, I landed a job at Spenmo, a product-based firm, meeting my goal. Thanks to mentor Birendra Yadav for constant support.

The pressure to constantly upskill can feel overwhelming. Scaler boarded the upskilling trend too like many other Ed Techs but as far as curriculum goes, I found it to be a pleasant surprise. I am somewhat of a sceptic, but I have to hand it to my supportive mentor and instructors. They helped me on a personal level throughout and showed me a great deal of dedication. Some things could have been better like a more responsive customer support and more flexible fees structure, but overall not a bad experience. 

The course is NOT for beginners.And no I don’t mean it about the fundamentals…i am talking about your will to learn. For 9 months, you have to learn how to manage your time and commitments in the best way possible or you will fall behind very easily You have to dedicate at least 2-3 hours to self study apart from classes to keep up Never skip or miss your sessions with your mentor…that’s where the most learning happens Try to maintain a coding streak…aim for at least a 100 days total. It will help you develop coding intuition Lastly just dont keep to yourself but try to network and build connections with the community. More often than not your peers are the one’s who get you a job referral

Started my journey after completing engineering in 2013. Felt stuck with my skills and wanted to grow further and that's why Joined Scaler to learn and improve. Before, i only studied algorithms, now applying them at work also which is good. Scaler changed my mindset and approach to work. Now, happily employed at FISGlobal. I would say thanks to the guidance from Anshuman and mentoring from Suchit. my expereince was nice and smooth 

So I joined Scaler to improve in string manipulation and dynamic programming... but I was pleasantly surprised to learn so much more than expected. I got better in other areas like DSA and algorithms…which really helped me grow as a programmer. What I liked: The lessons were easy to understand and mentors like Anshuman and Abhimanyu Sir were so supportive and down to earth..they personally took time to help me. I took up problem solving daily and my longest coding streak has been 300+ days continuously. Big thanks to my mentor for motivating me. The career team goes above and beyond to help learners…I sat for more interviews in the last few months alone than i have for years. Overall a mostly positive experience. Just one complaint…customer support can be faster in resolving issues… 

Some background about me...I come from humble beginnings.. raised by my hardworking farmer father and a loving mother who sadly is no longer with us. Money was always a problem and i have seen nothing but financial struggles since i was small.For someone who has to save for years to even afford college… scaler was a big risk. A lot of people advised me to not join..to save money and think of my future. But i took the leap anyway and it turned out to be so worth the trouble i faced at the start. In the early days i used to not even sleep thinking i had made a big mistake but the team at scaler helped me overcome my worst struggles and gave me a new start in life. Today i am a farmer’s son turned software engineer, thanks to scaler… and couldn’t be prouder of how far i have come. Forever in debt of my wonderful teachers and mentor. 

So here goes my scaler review after doing their course. See my focus was simple- building my knowledge and for that purpose, it did the job as there were detailed classes and assignments about DSA and stuff. But if you’re someone who’s also working while learning like I was, it can be problematic as you have to constantly juggle the two. The only way i could manage to do it was by watching the recorded lectures and spending time on the weekends. But it was in a way worth it also as expanding my knowledge led to more project opportunities. Still big thanks toAnshuman Jayesh Patel and Kshitij Mishra for their support throughout the course. 

Scaler helped me follow my dream of working within the data science domain. Coming from a city not known for tech, I wasn't sure how to enter the world of Data Science. Scaler not only showed me the way but also provided practical sessions and mentorship that kept me motivated and focused. In fact, Anshuman's session on dreaming big was particularly inspiring and gave me the push I needed. As a result of consistently building my skills, I've been able to excel in my role as a Data Scientist at AB InBev, a Fortune 500 company. At the same time, I'd still say that your efforts decide just how far you'd go even with support from platforms like Scaler.

Scaler has helped me in more ways than I can count, both on personal and professional levels. Forever grateful for the wonderful people I met here… especially my instructor Deependra for his willingness to help me always. The program helped me develop analytical abilities and critical thinking, allowing me to approach problem solving with better intuition…coding streak of 350 days since I joined and going strong even post Scaler.

Scaler alum here -  Thought I'd share my honest review on the whole experience:Pros:- Signing up was easy: Scaler Academy's platform made joining super easy and hassle-free, very user-friendly interface. - Skill boost: The program seriously levelled up my skills, especially for shifting into a product-based company.- Supportive vibe: Scaler had a great community vibe going on, which made learning feel like a team effort.- Kept me motivated: They really emphasized continuous improvement, like with daily coding streaks, which pushed me to do better.- Mentorship: Those 1:1 sessions with my mentor was very helpful.Cons:- No guarantees: While Scaler was helpful, it doesn't promise you'll land a job right away.- Time-consuming: Be ready to invest a lot of time, especially if you're juggling other stuff.- Expensive: The cost might be a bit steep for some folks.Overall… Scaler Academy was a game-changer for my career growth. Just keep in mind the ups and downs before diving in.

Scaler Academy was like a boot camp for coders..I'm saying this as a person with a non-coding background who started with zero technical knowledge when I first joined. Their curriculum starts easy, then gets tough real quick. You have to solve problems and maintain consistency every day or the risk of falling behind is there.. The course is no magic fix nor will it make you a pro coder overnight..you just have to be patient and stick with it day by day to see the results. For whatever is available in the market right now at this range, they do offer a lot of benefits though like personal mentorship, placement assistance, community assistance, offline meetups etc. 

Post-pandemic job opportunities were close to zero… and feeling stuck in my career was really getting to me… causing a lot of anxiety. I decided to take it as a challenge to turn things around when a friend suggested Scaler Academy to me.Scaler’s approach to coding was like a breath of fresh air. Finally, I could focus on breaking free from that career rut. Great mentorship, super supportive instructors and placement team. Super grateful for the recommendation!

Was in a sort of rut so during this time, committing myself to personal and professional growth was a game changer. For professional growth, I had joined Scaler's program, and honestly, it helped me in numerous ways. Firstly, the environment they provided was exactly what I needed – supportive and conducive to growth. Secondly, from mentorship and mock tests to routine and competitive peers, they offered everything I needed. Thirdly, the curriculum was so well-made that it gave me a regular schedule to overcome my habit of procrastination and learn consistently. However, I’d still say- the learning experience was pretty intense as it was too detailed but for someone like me, it was surprisingly enjoyable. Exploring algorithms from a different perspective made me actively involved in the process. 

My time as a learner at Scaler has been full of ups and downs; it started with me feeling overwhelmed and intimidated by the program but soon I found my rhythm.✅ I gave myself enough time to go over a topic, and practise it on my pace ✅ I started managing my time in a more structured way and followed a routine✅ Attended scaler lectures, worked on their assignments and solved problems every SINGLE day✅ Asked my instructors and TAs a million dumb questionsWhat did NOT work for me: ❌The duration of the course was too long and exhausting❌Customer support was sometimes slow and unresponsive ❌ Had to request to switch my mentor because mine was too busy with other projects and did not dedicate time to our sessionsIt’s overall a good program if you want to learn your concepts from A-Z… just pushes you to do a lot. 

My Scaler Academy review: what’s good vs bad The Good: 1.Good jobs: Obviously got better job opportunities, expanded my network etc. 2. Well designed dashboard: The instructors at Scaler are good and also the dashboard is very helpful too specially the streak feature. 3. Mentor support: The comprehensive curriculum, mentors were good. They prepared me for mock interviews and i ended up getting good offers. The Bad: 1. Cost Consideration: While the benefits of Scaler Academy are good, the program comes with a financial investment. It's a longer commitment in terms of money2. Time Commitment: 9 months is too long for any non-accredited course. 

My motivation for joining Scaler was to improve my skills and get better opportunities. The interactive teachers provided a lot of opportunities for self-improvement which boosted my confidence to interview for new job opportunities. So for me, the crux of this entire review would be that they first- helped me secure job offers both locally and internationally and second- turned my dream of career advancement into reality.

I'm a computer science engineer and thanks to Scaler, I got a big hike in my salary and improved my problem-solving skills a lot. I used to struggle with DSA, LLD, and HLD, but the lectures at Scaler changed everything for me. Especially the DSA lectures!It was tough balancing work and academy classes, but I managed it by studying on weekends too.Now, I'm proud to say I work at Joveo, and I owe a big thanks to my mentors, Harsh and Abhimanyu, for their support. They taught me patience, hard work, and resilience!

Life threw a bad time during my engineering degree. Unlike my B.tech peers, I wanted to become a data analyst. But I was always fascinated by data analytics and science, I want a career in it. In 2019, discovered Scaler offering job referrals in related fields. Though not keen on improving technical skills, their referral program caught my attention so price was not problem... Thanks to Scaler, now I'm at ServiceNow. They helped me grow personally and professionally. Improved my DSA skills & gained confidence to face challenges. Grateful to Scaler team and mentor for guiding me to my dream job with a 100% pay hike.

Life had its ups and downs, coming from a farmer's family. Waited for B.tech admission, tried for UPSC exam, but had no luck. I moved on trying to look for work... Enrolled in scaler even though it's a lil expensive for some direction. With improved skills, I regained my confidence and got job at AP Moller Maersk...! Thanks to instructors Mohit Yadav, Anshuman Abhimnanyu Kshitij, and mentor Sandeep Singh. Hard work pays off...stay consistent.

 I am working at Amazon currently but my initial journey too was filled with the service sector experiences. This change was what scaler did for me. They also brought me into the habit of learning everyday. Whether on weekends or even on holidays, no day went by without learning and solving problems.
