The GA Course instructors (Glen & Joe) were great at taking us through the material in a logical, engaging and digestible way. We got a great intro into product management principles with great examples of real world applications.

I recently had the privilege of undertaking the Product Management course offered by General Assembly, and I am compelled to share my exceptional experience, largely thanks to the outstanding instructor, Tricia Huerta, who guided our journey. From the very first session, it was evident that Tricia possessed amazing depth of knowledge in the field of product management. Her ability to distill complex concepts into digestible, real-world examples made the learning process not only comprehensible but genuinely enjoyable. She went to great lengths to address individual questions, provide additional resources, and even offered personalised feedback on our assignments. The course structure itself was well-crafted, covering a comprehensive range of topics crucial for anyone aspiring to excel in product management. Each module seamlessly built upon the previous one, creating a cohesive learning experience that mirrored the dynamic challenges faced by product managers in the real world.

Course was very fun, challenging, and informative. Classes were structured at the right pace...occasionally material was confusing, however both instructors (Britni and Tricia) gave us ample time to ask questions. I was blessed to work with 4 other smart, capable students in a preassigned small group for a project (1 member later dropped out which did increase the workload). Nevertheless, this is a great course if you're new or seasoned to product management. Cost is on the higher side for a 10 weeks course, but General Assembly does offer finance options. It appeared many of my classmates didn't flinch at that (most likely because their employers paid for it; I wasn't so lucky). While the final day of class was memorable for connecting with professional PM's currently practicing their craft, the biggest gripe is the lack of transition to a PM role. It is entirely possible to take this course and STILL walk away without a PM career at the end of it. This class is great, the instructors our amazing, but GA drops the ball HARD on progressing you into a PM role at close of the course. Hopefully, GA can re-work their courses to transition graduates into actual tech roles, perhaps offer a complimentary internship for graduates with tech companies.

I'm a mature age, working web dev professional who took a General Assembly Product Management course to brush up on my skills and investigate future career paths.I'm currently doing a post-graduate certification in web dev now after not being at university for 25 years, and there's an incredible difference of learner experience quality between contemporary vocational education and institutional education. (Disclaimer: I have a chunk of experience in corporate adult learning and development.)At General Assembly, we had access to a working, veteran professional twice a week for 10 weeks, and everything we did in class and homework was working to the end assignment for course completion, a product strategy presentation. The expectations and grading rubric were clear. At the institution where I am studying now, the units are being led by 'eLearning advisors' who have only superficial knowledge of the subject matter. Students have banded together to form their own study groups because the promised collaborative learning experience is giving no value. The assignment requirements are hazily defined even though they involve clear demonstration of measurable competencies (ie coding).I've heard the platitude that 'the university experience is what you make it' a few times now but that just seems to let the bureaucracy of these institutions off the hook. Plenty of money is spent on course advertising and student onboarding, but not enough on course materials and experienced teaching staff. Ugh, I didn't mean for this to be a kvetch about my disappointment with tertiary education institutions! My experience has highlighted how General Assembly's model to practical capability development is vastly superior for the modern digital age, and that current education and certification paradigms are ripe for disruption.I thoroughly recommend General Assembly for their curriculum, approach to continuous improvement, and learner support.

For someone with no background of product management this course promises that it is recommended for beginners or no background, it also promises that a career help will be given. After struggling for the first few weeks I found myself in a bit of a struggle to keep up.John and Alex where very good but again to much to cover for someone with no background. As soon as the course was finished I heard nothing from anyone even though it says that a career help can be provided. For the amount I have paid I at least expect that the core values will be delivered.Kind regardsHarel

I participated in the remote online Product Management course that spanned the course of 10 weeks. During which I had the opportunity to learn about the product lifecycle, how to conduct user interviews, and how to effectively present my discovery findings. There was also ample time during class to practice what we were learning with other classmates, learning from each others ideas as well as networking with one another. I thought the instructor was knowledgeable, patient, and engaging to learn from. I would recommend GA to anyone who is looking to take the next step in their personal and professional growth.

I recently completed the product management 10-week part time course with GA, remotely in Melbourne. I was worried about remote learning as I can find it difficult to be engaged but I found that the use of group, partner and solo activities around the core learning to help with this immensely. I love that the instructors were available for us to pick their brains around their real-world experience - I gained some invaluable learning this way.

My experience was overall outstanding. I got a great education, lots of follow up material, and the ability to practice my skills as a product manager. I'm excited to see where my career takes me from here. I do wish there were more resources to help with resume shaping and product management interviews.

General Assembly created a very easy-to-follow workflow for the classes. It was a very 'hands-on' approach, where we could put into practice all we learned. A very good comprehensive course, yet easy to follow. The instructors were phenomenal! Since they are real professionals working with the topics on a daily basis, they could give us a real insight into the professional day-by-day scenarios and examples. They were always available for that extra support as well. I'm really pleased with this course!

I had a great experience at General Assembly. My cohort was full of full time product managers who had just transitioned from the product owner role, international executives, and entrepreneurs. The content was thorough and engaging that helped me push myself and absorb information. I put in a lot of work to get everything done on time because we only had so much time in the day to cover a lot of content. However, it was truly an incredible experience and I am grateful to have learned from such wonderful instructors and people.

I took the 10 week, part-time Product Management course in Washington, DC. I enjoyed the course content and engagement from the instructor on the themes and content provided with the course. I think this course gives students from a variety of professional backgrounds, technical and non-technical, the content necessary to figure out a way forward with a career in product management with topics on how to define a product idea, market research, setting objectives, understanding feature development and prioritization, etc. I truly recommend this General Assembly course offering, but I also encourage anyone taking the course to put in the effort to network with classmates, attend office hours with the instructor, and continue to read about the product management domain outside of the course in order to bolster the experience.

I took the Product Management class in spring of 2019 at General Assembly's San Francisco campus. The course was comprehensive and the instructor was knowledgeable. I enjoyed being able to learn what I applied in class to a project that I completed and presented at the end of the course. Additionally, the GA SF campus facilities were incredible and the staff was very friendly.

I really enjoyed each stage of the Product Management Course (Part-time) I completed in Sydney. I'm very happy with the outcome and all the content presented since how to define a product idea, validation, find customers and competitors until we already push it to the marketplace, besides that the class about how to get a job and how to improve the resume + understand job titles + salary etc was very valuable.I truly recommend GA and likely will come back for a new course.

Had a great experience in the part time 10 week product management course. The instructor was very helpful, knowledgeable and very passionate about product with years and years of experience.
Everyone at GA was really helpful, it's a great environment to learn in!
