I thought this was an overall great experience. The staff is helpful and friendly. It’s definitely a situation where you get out of it what you put in. They are very upfront about not guaranteeing a job, but will help you as best they can to find one. If you don’t thrive in an online, go-at-your-pace environment… this is not for you. This is great for people who have minimal to no tech experience, or for anyone who is just interested in brushing up on old skills.

Review:From the start of my time with The Tech Academy, I felt like I had a solid team in my corner to help me face any challenges that came my way. The enrollment process was smooth (shoutout to Jackie), the instructors were always responsive, and the curriculum felt more and more fulfilling as I ventured further. The job placement team reached out from the very beginning to assist in interview prep, resume critiquing, and networking (can't stress how important networking is in this field of work). This boot camp will build a solid foundation for you to build upon, no matter your skill level or prior knowledge. Pros:-Excellent staff to work with who have exceptional availability should you need them-Work at your own pace as a remote student allowing you to complete a course faster than the expected graduation date-If you finish your boot camp before your target graduation, you have access to other courses they offer until that date comes allowing you to get multiple certs!-Landing a job during your boot camp gets you a cert-The students, alum, and faculty went the extra mile. I had former students connect on LinkedIn with me just to make sure I had all the help I neededCons:-Your biggest con as a remote student will be you. You get what you put into this and I think even more so as a remote student. This line of work requires you to have self discipline working from home and to never stop learning

Tech Academy's Front-end web developer course was okay from my experience. When I took the course, the video lectures seemed a little dated (could be different now). The projects were for beginners and were follow along type of projects. The job support was good, they kept you in the loop and sent out job opportunities whenever they find any which was nice. The live project was nice since you get to work in a team environment.Pros:-Job support is good, kept you in the loop and stayed in contact with you.-Live project give you some hand on experience working in a team.Cons:-Lecture videos seemed a bit out-dated.-Didn't learn much from copying code and following along.

The Tech academy is truly an amazing school. They aren’t a school who is just gonna take your money and not care about you. Even online I felt like I had constant help from the teachers and they always got back to me as quick as possible. Then once You finish the classes they help you every step of the way to help you get into the job market. With the tech academy you truly feel that everyone there wants to help you succeed.

I am a recent graduate from The Tech Academy and I have so many amazing things to say about this school and the people! Getting myself through this course was not easy by any means (due to life circumstances), but with kind and understanding mentors I was able to graduate with a certificate. I'm so grateful for the opportunities this school has brought me. The course itself was very well put-together and easy to follow, and this is coming from an absolute newbie in this field. I learned so much. Since it was a bootcamp course it was very fast-paced, but it was still in depth and comprehensive.

Student 2020
When I began my course work with The Tech Academy my background was theater, experiential marketing, and a little bit of STEM back in college. This course is truly designed to acclimate the total "noob" (that's gamer speak for newbie if you don't know) to CS. My first go round was going smooth and then life happened about 70% through the Python Boot Camp. Long story short, from July 2019 all the way until, as of this writing, June 2020 my contact at the Academy (big shout out to Lexi) was there for me. Lexi heard my woes, and was always eager to help me find solutions to finish what I've started. Now I'm on course the complete the Front End Development Boot Camp with hopes of coming back to Python soon after I'm working in the tech industry.Anyway, I have tons of stuff to show in my GitHub profile from this boot camp. I developed really great connections with all of my instructors (even as a remote student). And for those concerned about time zone differences fear not. I live in Detroit, and I was able to communicate with the Tech Academy fine even with the three hour difference, it just took a bit more coordination of schedules.Yes the classes are great, but I wanted to take a moment to highlight in this review is the personal support, apart from just loops and algorithms, that I received as a student. Thanks again to Lexi for all your hard work and advocating for me!
