MIT IDSS AI & Data Science Program

This course has exceeded my expectations for an intensive data science and machine learning course in depth and breadth. It comprises 7 modules exploring Python and statistics, unstructured data and clustering, regression and prediction, classification and hypothesis testing, deep learning, recommendation and networking and graphical models. Each module is complemented with two-to-three-hour lecture videos from MIT professors, two-hour mentored learning sessions taught by experienced industry practitioners, multiple case studies with full-code Jupyter notebooks provided and lecture notes. I was assessed with test questions about the concepts in each module. In addition, I had to complete three projects that required me to combine the skills I learned and my business knowledge to provide commercial solutions in fictional case studies. The teaching methods, course materials and assessments are crucial to my understanding and applications of the course content. Also, the Great Learning team provided me with a lot of support during the course period, which facilitated the course delivery and aimed at producing great learning outcomes for every student. After graduating from it, I became competent in data analytics using Python. Thank you, Great Learning!

Great learning course if by far the best, the most comprehensive data course out there. I have done so much researches before the course and finally decdide on this one. the experience was incredible and I have learned so much through the process. the course is in the module format and each is a important data science topic. The professors and faculties and super helpful and they def set you up for success!

I acquired comprehensive expertise in data science and machine learning. As a devoted and attentive team, Great Learning ensured that I understood everything from the basics of statistics and Python to the nuances of data visualization, classification, and deep learning. Their comprehensive curriculum, a reflection of their dedication to top-tier education, empowered me with an expansive skill set that's indispensable in today's data-centric world. As I reflect on my experience, I am filled with gratitude and confidence, knowing that this education will be a cornerstone for the next exciting phase of my career.

The course contents were solid and set strategically, l had a lot of fun through the whole experience. My academic supporter is especially kind and helpful, he is always patient and willing to help me. Through the video lectures and quizes and practices, l gained a lot of knowledge from python foundation to some real systematic project with data science technology.

I recently had the privilege of participating in the "Data Science and Machine Learning: Making Data-Driven Decisions" course offered from July 2022 to November 2022. I can honestly say that this experience has been nothing short of exceptional, leaving me with newfound knowledge, skills, and an appreciation for the field of data science and machine learning.

Right from the beginning, it was evident that the course was thoughtfully designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of data science concepts and their practical applications. The course material was meticulously curated, ensuring that even complex topics were broken down into easily digestible modules. Each module built upon the previous one, allowing for a steady and logical progression of learning.

However, what truly sets this course apart is the incredible support provided by the Great learning support team. In particular, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to Priya, the training coordinator, who went above and beyond to ensure that my learning journey was smooth and fulfilling. Her dedication, responsiveness, and willingness to assist with any challenges I encountered were truly remarkable. Her guidance played a pivotal role in helping me complete the course successfully.

The professors leading the course were equally impressive. Their patience and attention to detail in explaining complex concepts made even the most intricate algorithms and models seem approachable. The balance between theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical assignments was spot on, allowing me to not only grasp the theory but also apply it in real-world scenarios.

The course structure incorporated various projects and assessments that challenged me to apply what I had learned. These projects not only deepened my understanding but also boosted my confidence in tackling real data science problems. The collaborative nature of the assignments fostered a sense of community among fellow learners, creating an environment where we could learn from each other's experiences.

In conclusion, my experience with the "Data Science and Machine Learning: Making Data-Driven Decisions" course has been incredibly rewarding. I had a truly wonderful experience with this course by MIT delivered through Great Learning. I feel that I was able to upskill very effectively thanks to the extremely well-balanced curriculum, and the course had us deliver several fully-formed projects, combining this way theoretical and practical learning modalities.By well-balanced I mean: starting from Python, statistics, probability and the fundamentals of applied data science, we studied our way through a large set of machine learning algorithms and their theoretical underpinnings, up to and including building some neural networks - and beyond. We weren't pressed or quizzed on our mathematical prowess, but for the curious, all the mathematical underpinnings of these systems were also explained. Additionally, practical case studies were given that covered a number of areas of the industry, including genomics, marketing, greentech, finance, sales, and even the medical applications of things like neural networks.There was concern among some students that the weekly live classes would not be sufficient by themselves, and I would tend to agree. Although we were treated to classes by industry specialists from companies like Amazon, Oracle or Verizon, there is so much that can be communicated within just a few hours. But all of the material of the live classes and more was covered during the preparatory video sessions and in the various handout documents we received, and each module had as much optional material (ungraded) as core content.The delivery platform itself was good to great, with some room for improvement. Professional placement assistance was also fantastic, again with the possibility to get our resume and online presence reviewed by experienced leaders within the industry.All in all, for the diligent student, there is a lot to be had and a lot to be learnt in a course like this, and I feel it can truly help to kickstart one's career as a data scientist. I can without any exaggeration recommend this course as one of the best upskilling experiences I have ever had. The MIT pedagogy and the sheer brilliance of the professors shine through, and the Great Learning staff really go out of their way to make the delivery easy.

It was indeed a wonderful journey with lots of great experiences, the mentored class was Superb and I’d recommend to anyone anytime First I was a bit nervous and wasn’t sure if I will make anything out of the program but thanks to the instructors for their continuous encouragements and patients. Enrolling in this online course was an exceptional experience that surpassed my expectations. The course was set apart by the extensive lectures provided by none other than Professors from MIT, a stellar university, which enriched my understanding and allowed me to explore the subject matter more deeply. The assessments were thoughtfully designed, challenging me to apply my knowledge effectively. Altogether, this course not only elevated my learning journey but also with the multitude of case-studies and interesting masterclasses equipped me with valuable skills and insights that I can confidently apply in real-world scenarios.

The MIT-DSML course offered a comprehensive view of the trending field of Data Science and revealed numerous possibilities for its application in the real world. The material was relevant and the knowledgeable trainers and mentors broke down relatively complex topics to help both seasoned practitioners and novices grasp key concepts and relate them all to practical solutions. The program staff were especially patient and helpful enough to guide us towards achieving our goals. I was able to immediately apply the content to my post-graduate research and I would highly recommend the course to anyone looking to advance their knowledge or career prospects.

This class teaches you the fundamentals anyone needs to get started in the fast-paced world of AI! The Support in this course was absolutely excellent! There is no substitute for learning the fundamentals, and the fundamentals are so important to know because they will be what takes you the farthest in your pursuits.

The program was structured very well, started off with the very basics and ended up with pretty high-level concepts. Ishwor Bhasal was a great professor and I was looking forward to the live classes every week. The program manager (Glory) was extremely helpful, wouldn’t have made it without her! Overall, great class, totally recommend!

I have successfully completed the 'Data Science and Machine Learning: ​Making Data-Driven Decisions', the 12 weeks intensive course with "MIT and Great Learning”. Since I enrolled at the last moment​, it was a little hectic​ until week-3 as back to back test and project submission etc., may be due to poor planning. Thereafter it was an excellent and truly amazing journey.  

Online video lectures by MIT Professors are awesome, Course materials - essential contents designed to cover the key points with comprehensive explanation of basic fundamentals and optional contents as additional materials designed cover much deeper - are excellent.
 
On top of that, weekend mentoring sessions by Osama are excellent and much interactive with clearing all doubts. 

Course coordinat​or Glory is awesome ​and her coordination among the cohort members are outstanding. 

Overall ​It was truly an impressive intensive training program and I really had a great learning experience.

I was a bit apprehensive at first. Having learning disabilities makes education at this level difficult. But, the instructors were so engaging and took time to answer and work with everyone. Glory, our program manager, is awesome! Unlike university where I went decades ago, she worked with me and set me up for success. She genuinely wanted me to pass. I love it and STRONGLY suggest everyone try it. If you're wanting an MIT level education, this will get you there.Pros:The emotional support. Starting this class in the middle of chemo was hard enough. They made it possible.The course work was not saturating. It was broken out into smaller chunks - eating the elephant 1 bite at a time. The videos and the corresponding skills tests were hard at times but being able to see where I went wrong on the skills test helped me understand the question better.Learning Python... not my favorite language but they made it fun and now I have a little more respect for it.Cons:The only con I have is there was a slight language barrier due to different nationalities of the instructors but the ability to go back and watch the MLS again was very helpful.

I just finished the Data Science and Machine Learning program with MIT and Great Learning.It was a great experience and I learned a lot during these 12 weeks. The program was very well structured, really broad, intense and challenging. With the commitment to excellence from the MIT faculty, the support of the learning team and mentors and learners dedication  it created a memorable and impactful learning experience. The Program Manager plays a big part in this as this requires a lot of support, communication and guidance. Twinkle, the program manager of February 2023 cohort, was really supportive and helped out a lot contributing to the success of the whole team.Highly recommended!

Great journey! All the right tools. Full support. Well-structured material and reasonably paced program. I enjoyed it, though hard for a beginner. But anyone can make it if there is a will. Thanks to all who put this together!

I finished Data Science and Machine Learning course with MIT and Great Learning recently.The learning journey was really amazing. It was a combination of recorded lectures and Instructor-led mentoring sessions which you can learn on your own time and at the same time got your questions answered by the instructors during the mentoring sessions. I really like how the lectures were planned and organized  where there are tests after each lesson to enhance and strengthen my learning.Also, the list of projects equipped me with the skills for the real-life activities. Excellent learning experience!Highly Recommended! 

Learning data science with Great Learning has been an amazing experience. I enjoyed the immersive learning experience and their course content was well curated! I enjoyed my first time doing data science with them! 

I recently completed the applied data science program, which was one of the greatest I've ever done.The curriculum was up to date, the lecturers were excellent, and the mentors were outstanding. The entire staff worked together to answer all of my queries and to prepare me for real-world activities.  You won't believe the opportunities this has given me in my job.It is a difficult curriculum to finish, but it is well worth the effort.It comes highly recommended!

I took this course out of curiosity, but I really fell in love with this program. Everything I was taught became a real passion. The course content is very well structured. Teachers and mentors are the BEST! I highly recommend this program.
