Last year I was making little money as a private music instructor. I loved teaching music, but I was living paycheck to paycheck struggling to get more students. Earlier in my life, I took two coding classes in high school, and I absolutely loved it. I ended up not going to college for it because I was passionate about other things, but in the back of my mind it was always a passion for me and something I wanted to do still. I had a friend tell me about coding bootcamps, and I was sold. I really wanted to make a career change. I ended up almost doing a pretty average bootcamp that had very mixed reviews, but at the last minute, I had a friend tell me about MAX technical training. It was the perfect bootcamp for me and my career. MAX covers a very wide range of topics and prepares you for the software development cycle. What I love about MAX is that it truly covers the whole spectrum of software development. Starting with Git/GitHub, then with backend (C# and Java), then with SQL for a week (which is very important), and then finishing the class with frontend (HTML/CSS/JS/TS/and Angular). If you're looking for a coding bootcamp, you need to find one that isn't focused on just a tech stack. Its curriculum shouldn't just be focused on teaching you the newest mainstream javascript framework, and it's not worried about trying to put you in JUST a frontend role. To me, a bootcamp should be full stack, teaching you the big picture because that makes you way more valuable as a programmer and it also prepares you for anything, letting your career path be flexible and not pigeonholing you into one specific path. Thus, the course curriculum of MAX in my opinion is close to perfect. The main instructor and the other instructors were amazing too; they were all very passionate about teaching while also trying to give you any careeer advice they can along the way. Furthermore, they are also the only bootcamp to my knowledge in Ohio, or one of the only ones, where they have someone train you to get SCRUM certified, and it's covered under your tuition. Adding that PSM 1 certificate isn't a huge deal, but I think it definitely helps your resume and LinkedIn get noticed when looking for a job and can get you a slightly higher salary. I got asked about it in all my job interviews. I will say my criticisms of MAX are pretty slim, but I will say a couple things. I think while the course instruction was awesome and taught me a lot even as someone with a computer science background already, I wished there were more projects or small exercises we did. Even if it were one small project a week or something like that, I think that would have given me a little more confidence and helped me practice. While you do one main project at MAX and most days of course instruction is about building projects and coding constantly, I think more smaller projects would have helped me a little. But this is probably more of a preference thing for me personally. Either way, I still had a great education with MAX and I don't want to take away from that. Some other bootcamps give you a lot more assignments and homework, and that may be something you want. MAX doesn't really give you homework per se; the teacher most days will give you an idea of something to work on at home, like doing an extension of something you did in class that day, but it is pretty much optional. I enjoyed that personally and would often do these little extensions, but I think some people would rather have an assignment every night. I am not one of those people necessarily, but I want to be honest and talk about that because some people may want a more stringent experience. Most of MAX's approach is like half lecture, and half using what you learned to make something alongside the teacher. Then, once the class got some practice, the teacher would give us open lab to build our capstone project. I enjoyed this approach a lot and it worked for me well. I think adding some more small assignments throughout the 3 months would have helped me personally, BUT I could've just done every extension the teacher recommended to the class, and while I did a lot of them, I didn't do all of them. So again, I just want to be transparent about the whole process, but overall, I would genuinely say the course instruction is close to perfect, and all the instructors are amazing at what they do. Really the most important part of any bootcamp is getting you a job. The career services of MAX are just as strong as the course instruction. You pretty much get the constant help of a seasoned career coach who is passionate about your success and landing you a job. The career coach is very thorough and makes sure your resume is strong, your Github is good, your LinkedIn is optimized, and overall you're aggressive and on track with your job search, applying to many jobs per week. No bootcamp is going to just land you a job. Because the hardest part of any coding bootcamp isn't the coding, the hardest part is getting a job. The actual coding is not the hard part (except it is very hard and demanding). If you intend to do a coding bootcamp, I would advise you are ready to make it your full commitment and be coding as much as possible. After bootcamp is finished, you cannot stop. In fact, that is when you should push down the hardest on the gas pedal. You have to keep learning and apply for as many jobs as you can. MAX really does everything in its power to get the student to do this, but at the end of the day, they cannot just get you a job. It's on YOU to get a job, not them! I'm sure some bootcamps claim they have special relationships with certain companies and can land you a job, and it does happen every so often with any bootcamp, but in reality most students just have to find their own opportunity. For example, I got an interview at a company because of MAX's relationship with them (didn't get the job though). In my opinion, MAX prepares you for this process of finding your own opportunity and really coaches you on how to find a job in general. So even after many years of working that first job, if you ever need to find a new job thereafter, MAX prepares you for that.Overall, MAX was a great experience for me that helped me land my first coding job (65k a year, 2 months after bootcamp graduation). It also prepared me for the full-stack software life cycle, and I think this will allow for my continued success in the field of software development.

I came to MAX because I wanted a change; my previous career didn't feel right for me but I did not want to take 4 years to get a career through college. I heard about MAX through a friend who took the same path (teacher -> tech) and decided to take the plunge because of their repayment options being so friendly. I was able to utilize a program with the state that let me pay after graduation, once I received a job.The boot camp itself is pretty straightforward - 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 13 weeks. You cover a wide range of topics for a full stack, meaning source control, database, backend, and frontend. The instructor is great, and you ALWAYS have opportunities to ask questions or to go over something if you don't understand. You get plenty of resources for checking and reviewing, and breaks every 90 minutes or so. You're able to take it in person or remote, but I personally recommend in person so you can build camaraderie with your class(and for me it helped me focus). Throughout the camp they also have guests they bring in for certain topics, like a local recruiting company to talk about contract to hire and apprenticeship roles, a specialist for scrum (work flow methodology), and more. You build up a project using all your skills, and once it's approved you are cleared for graduation. After that you enter job search. The career specialist meets with you every week and helps with goals, finding jobs, getting your foot in the door and more. Most of their network is Cincinnati based, so if you're looking for a job outside that area, it may be a bit tougher but they'll do everything they can to help.Overall, it was a lot of work, but certainly worth it. They're with you every step of the way, and there are many alumni you can reach out to for tips and advice as well. I highly recommend the camp if you're up to it!

When I decided to change careers and attend a coding bootcamp, I reviewed many options. I ultimately chose Max Technical Training as it appeared to have a more personable approach. After attending, wow that is not an understatement. They are very personable and make you feel like part of their family from the first day to post graduation with alumni events to help with networking. Even though I mostly attended remote, I never felt like an outsider. The bootcamp was amazing with instructors that are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about you learning. It was the best choice I have ever made!

I was given the opportunity to attend the MAXimum coding bootcamp with Max Technical Training on the VRAPP program for veterans. Before I attended bootcamp I tried going the school route to become a software engineer after a few semesters and several interviews I realized I still didn't have enough "hands on" experience. This bootcamp provided me with tools and knowledge that I can use to continue my path to achieving my goal, I even have a few projects from this experience. Most importantly, the MAX family cares from the staff, to the instructors & career mangers AND the CEO! You will be in good hands with MAX!

I am so proud to be a MAX Technical Training Grad. I successfully completed the Maximum Full Stack Bootcamp where we learned both C# / .NET and Java, then used Angular to write the Front-End of a Purchase Request System for our capstone. I would urge anyone interested in tech or looking to make a career shift to do it with MAX. The bootcamp was incredibly powerful because of the instructors, coaches, and alumni. They genuinely care about your success and will make sure that you have the support you need. This is one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I would do it all over again. MAX helped me change my life and I will be forever grateful for everyone who helped me get here.

Attending the full stack development bootcamp at MAX was one of the best decisions I've ever made. They truly want you to succeed and will do whatever is necessary to assist you. Greg was an amazing instructor and always has a way of making things understandable. . He never let anyone fall behind. I can't thank Annette enough for everything she does with the career coaching and helping with your job search. I not only learned to code but learned about my strengths and how to present myself to employers. I have to give thanks to the people behind the scenes as well like Kevin and Kim. They were always encouraging and there to help. This is not an easy bootcamp. It takes effort and dedication but you can do it. Attending MAX has given me an opportunity that I never thought was possible. If you're on the fence about attending, I highly recommend you reach out to them for a visit or conversation. I am so thankful I did.

Discovering I could learn again was an amazing experience. Not only did I become aware that I could learn how to learn but I was able to learn and understand more about myself as a result of EVERYONE at MAX Technical Training. The growth both personal and professional was a huge take away. Being force feed from the firehose all the technologies was a bit much but understanding that the overview of the small amount of ever changing information that is out there is part of the "Learning How To Learn" process that settled in to my brain as I process all that I accomplished.Learning from Greg Doud was an amazing experience. The knowledge, the history, THE WIT, and the compassion was all enough to make this an amazing journey but the entertaining aspect of his teaching style and his ability to adjust to every student's learning style struck me as the strong point to having him as an instructor. A HUGE "Thank You" to Greg!I do prefer the hardcopy books, that I purchased outside of MAX, over the digital copies that were part of the curriculum. Trying to manage all the screens while actually programing seemed a bit much but I also understand that was my choice and a real world situation that I will encounter from here on out. Kudos as well to Kevin Newkirk and Kim Peace for being a large part of our journey as well. Constantly checking on us and being involved in our progress showed they were in our corner and provided a sounding board on a few occasions. Their support was another added bonus in every student's ability to succeed. To Annette Ballard - I can not say enough about the knowledge and compassion to see individuals progress, succeed and start their new journey in an exciting career change. The investment she made, and continues to make, in my journey alone speaks volumes, let alone the other 13 students in my cohort (and the second online cohort going on at the same time). THANK YOU!Coming from a background where I (and others) have constantly felt like just a number for a company to rack in money it is nice to feel part of a family. I had that feeling twice before: The U.S. Army and the first band I started when I exited the military. Everywhere else I have been there seemed to be little concern, care or investment made into those that "Make Things Happen". That's why I left my employer in Dec. 2021 and decided to "Make It Happen" for myself. SURPRISINGLY I found a home at MAX Technical Training. EVERYONE CARES! Everyone is invested in seeing the success of those who take the steps to change their lives. Having talked to other alumni and attending a few of their social events it's clear that the love does NOT stop when you graduate! Now in my third day of onboarding at Protiviti - Americas Delivery Center as an Analyst 3 I am having feelings about the welcoming family vibe once again. Manifesting that same culture as a result of 13 weeks of that at MAX has restored my faith in the fact that there are those that care about more than money. I have always said, "If you take care of those that work with you, they were take care of you." I highly recommend MAX Technical Training for those:Looking for a career change.Looking to increase their self worth.Looking to prove you can learn.Looking to become part of something bigger than yourself. That want to "Make It Happen"I DID ITI changed MY LIFEI "Made It Happen" ...with the love and support of everyone at MAX!Thank you!

I had a really great experience in the maximum coding boot camp at Max Technical Training. Max’s instructors have a wealth knowledge and go way beyond the classroom to help and encourage. The staff at Max are always around providing snacks, coffee, and a listening ear! Learning to program was very difficult, but I persevered and didn’t give up! I entered with zero programming knowledge, and I feel confident that I will succeed in my new position as an RPA Developer. I was offered a position only 3 weeks after graduating! I have no regrets in choosing Max Technical Training, it’s been a life changing experience!

Over 13 weeks we learned a very wide array of technologies and used about half of them in our Capstone project. This program is for those with a shallow depth of knowledge in technologies or for individuals who have never written a line of code in their life! If you apply yourself, anyone can pass this bootcamp with flying colors. While it is not required, I advise you to put your full attention into your studies while here. Even one hour an evening, and 2 hours of review on the weekend will make your life MUCH easier. If there was one thing that I would change it would be to enforce homework a little more to increase the volume of what we can cover in class. If the majority of the class did not do their homework, those who did put in that extra time had to then spend an additional 2 hours doing review work instead of learning more. With that being said I give MAX a 5/5 if you are looking to start your career in the Software Development world.

Full-time and remotely, I attended and finished the Full Stack bootcamp. Although I was working from home, I felt as if I were in the classroom with the other students and instructor. The learning curve is tough and needs a great deal of effort and dedication, but the mentorship system is fantastic and makes the entire process much easier. Max is really interested in assisting you with your studies as well as your job search. I can't say enough positive things about it and would highly recommend it as a first step into technology and a new life.

Undeniably "Life Changing"! I had my doubts that I could get through this boot camp and become a software developer. My instructor Greg was right there the entire course encouraging me and assuring me that I could do it! And I did it! The entire MAX staff truly do care about every student's success throughout the program and beyond. My career coach Annette teaches and guides every student as they embark on beginning their new career. I am so thankful I chose MAX to gain the courage, knowledge and skills I needed to completely change the path of my life! Thank you MAX Technical Training!

Greetings, I am Jeffrey, a MTT graduate who has successfully and enthusiastically completed the Full-Time Coding Boot camp. I am writing this after having just accepted a job offer by an amazing organization with great values and who treats their teammates well. For me, Max was an outstanding boot camp, although I had my reservations for attending a boot camp as I had very little information going into it, and with a loan that I was not sure I would be able to handle if this turned out to be a hoax, I am SO glad, grateful, proud, and delighted that I took that chance and signed up for the boot camp. It has given me a life-changing career, and an opportunity for immense growth. I am proud to call myself a graduate of MAX Technical Training, and absolutely encourage you to do the same. The instructors were well versed in the technologies and courses taught, and were able to teach them in a way where I and my cohort were able to understand and implement into future projects throughout the boot camp. Greg Doud was our teacher and is very smart, compassionate, and helpful when you needed assistance. Annette our careers coach, taught us all we needed to know when it came to understanding our strengths and weaknesses, an effective job search, and considered us as her children and stuck by our sides until we got the job offer we were working so hard for. Several more admirable staff to mention are, Kelsey Apple for our Scrum course, Mike Smith for our Azure course, Denise Bartick the Director who supported us all the way and made all of this possible, Kevin Newkirk who was there from the beginning to get us in, Kim Peace our Administrator who made sure we had our coursework for each topic, and the all the rest of the staff who worked behind the scenes to make all of this possible, as well. I want to thank you for your dedication and help throughout the boot camp. To those who are pondering on joining a boot camp to get into Software Development, I highly recommend MAX Technical Training as the boot camp to go to, you will not be disappointed! I guarantee it. Thank you, Jeffrey E... p.s R.I.P to the car that got me to and from the boot camp all the way until the very end, and is now sitting in my driveway with a faulty transmission system... I thank you most of all and wish you a peaceful slumber

Full overview here: https://maxtrain.com/maximum-coding-bootcamp/. The team at MAX truly cares - they go out of their way to help you succeed. I personally had some family issues pop and they worked with me to ensure I knew I wasn't alone, we had a game plan, and I wasn't going to fall behind. What I enjoyed most about learning is the relatable real-world examples provided by the teacher that made "connecting the dots" much easier. He was also great at navigating the nuances of teaching a class of 14 that learned at different paces.Alongside technical development, MAX takes a holistic approach and had various guest speakers/trainers to assist us with soft skills, networking, and social media presence.I'm thankful and happy I chose MAX.

They really gave the MAX when it came to teaching this boot camp! We worked hard, busted butts, and pushed to completion! I do feel like we came out with a strong base line understanding of C# and Java both, along with various accompanying languages/formats. We learned over 3 IDEs and our two instructors were the perfect balance.

MAX technical training is an amazing bootcamp that has a tailored curriculum towards current market demands. The instructor is very knowledgeable and does an amazing job at teaching you the required skills and technology in demand. In about 13 weeks I had gone from not knowing how to program to being able to make my own website, which I did. I made my own portfolio and I made a website for someone else, both are in production and on their own server. After graduation the career coach did an amazing job at coaching me on how to make my resume stand out. From key words that companies use in their search software to resume structure, she knew it all. After years of helping people find jobs she also helped me find mine. From day one to the day I got my offer, MAX held my hand the whole way through. Being at MAX everyday felt like having a family away from home, everyday it was always welcoming and I was eager to go. I am glad that I decided to pursue the boot camp path instead of the college path.
