Java Bootcamp

Focusing on a Java Spring backend and a TypeScript Angular frontend, I was able to gain a solid foundation to approach development. In addition, I learned some DevOps as well. I appreciated the in-depth attention to detail when it came to Java, learning about all the common data structures as well as multithreading.

Cogent does exactly what they set out to do: Train you and get you a job. It is two months of rigorous training with each day being concentrated learning for each technology, and each technology is tailor picked for the current tech industry trends. They also pour out a lot of resources that trainees can make use of like mock interviews for both technical skills and behavioral skills which is invaluable experience for when you actually get the opportunity to interview with companies once you graduate. As long as you trust the process, Cogent will give you opportunities, and it is up to you to make use of them.

I was 1 of 25 selected, out of 1200 people for this bootcamp, top 3%. Exceptional fast paced learning environment. I recieve my certification. With much sorrow and misfortune from the decline in the tech industry and competetivness they were not able to find me and most of my colleagues jobs. Out of 25 of us maybe 15 of us completed the program. Out of 15 only 3-5 of us recieved jobs. Within the last 2 years not including this year. 2022, 1k different tech companies laid off 150k ppl. In 2023, 1k tech companies laid off 250k people. If you graduated after 2022 you most likely have felt what I have felt. It’s not their fault but you must give 200% if you are a new graduate and looking to get your first job in the field. This program is only works for exceptional students that go above and beyond. Also, they do not train you in AWS.

The course was very nice and helpful. The instructors are very nice and easy to talk to. They also help with interview questions to prepare for job interviews. After the course, they help you find a job in the industry. They help you with technical and behavioural interview questions

Hey overall going through this bootcamp was a great experience I learned a lot of vital technologies which prepared me for the top companies.  We learned various technologies like Java, SQL, AWS, Angular, and many more ending off with a capstone project. I love the fact that the instructors took their time to teach no matter what skill level you were and made sure we understood completely. At the end of the bootcamp I managed to land a job through cogent university and I am thankful for the great experience from the projects, to technical skills, working with other Individuals and many more.

The training material and the course prepared me for the job I was placed in by Cogent. The instructors were very patient while teaching us concepts.The placement department tried to accommodate all my job requirements whole looking for a job for me, couldn't have asked for more from them! I would recommend Cogent to anyone who wants to upskill and get a job in the tech industry!

Cogent bootcamp builds your core competencies a developer needs in today's market.   They encourage you to bring your own unique strengths or interests, and market them.  After technical training the team will practice your interview skills so you are well prepared.

The course work was excellent and really got me prepared for the job that Cogent placed me in.  If you study and prepare with the coursework Cogent provides you with the job hunt is much easier.  There job placement is really good and I landed a job within 6 interviews.  In fact I am still there!  I really think Cogent does a good job.

Cogent university has a great influence in young developers. Great teachers and build you based on industry requirements. There was cloud teachings, backend development with spring boot and core Java, JavaScript for front end , database technologies and a whole lot of industry applications. I would highly recommend.

The best thing about the program is that they seem to know exactly what people are doing in the industry today. I was able to arrange an interview through a staffing agency and because I could say that I did every single thing that they wanted in a new hire, I got the job. I did not end up going with any of the job options presented to me because they were out of state and not really enough compensation to justify moving, but I don't hold it against the job search team; I just don't know how I found a better job than they did; my current office is within driving distance of where I've been living and pays about 180% of what was being posted. It costs a lot, but you'll be able to afford it; it's much better than student loans for undergrad. My only real complaint is that the other students would sometimes slow us down and I would have to explain certain things again when we were working on something without the instructor around. If you want the faster students to act as a TA and get everyone to graduate, at least give them preferential treatment when handing out job suggestions. 

Cogent is one the best bootcamps out there. They have highly skilled instructors that will make you a better developer. They also prioritize your soft skills, making the interview process way easier.
