The best bootcamp

Prior to joining Tech Elevator, when I was deciding on a Bootcamp to attend the two things that set them apart were the Pathway Program and the fact their job placement rate was 90% and that number was updated and checked by a third party each year. The Pathway program completely exceeded my expectations and did more than what I expected. They help you from day 1 until you find a job. They helped us prepare our resumes, practice interviews, taught us how to network and market ourselves as well as so much more. Even after graduation, your team of professors and Pathway directors are always available for you to reach out to if you ever need anything. The curriculum is rigorous as any good Bootcamp should be, but the main factor that sets them apart is the amount of help you have at your disposal. To start you're taught by experienced professors who have been in the industry for many years and who almost always have the answer to all your questions. Then you have your study group of 3-5 individuals who are also from your class that you can always reach out to and ask for help. If that fails you can always ask for help from the Academic Fellows who themselves have been through the Bootcamp and have been in your shoes. If you are looking for a Bootcamp that will give you results it would be a great disservice to yourself to not consider Tech Elevator!

Challenging and Rewarding - lots of support!

The TE experience is the full deal.  There are knowledgeable teachers who strive to see the students succeed.  Often times I had access to help beyond expectation.  The curriculum covers the full stack, mostly on the language of the cohort you are attending.  There is definitely enough education on the other portions (databases and front end) to prepare you for an entry level role.  I found I was able to self-teach and build upon my lessons during my time after the bootcamp to better prepare for some of the roles I was applying for.Another fantastic aspect of TE is the pathway program.  They have experienced recruiters who help you understand all the ins and the outs of the industry and the job search.  There are countless helpful events from exposing you to companies, practicing elevator pitches, refining your resume, and even interview coaching.  This was a much more valuable aspect of the bootcamp than I anticipated.I found that the job search is quite challenging.  You must have a lot of mental and emotional fortitude to endure the course and subsequent job hunt but the rewards are there for those willing to put in the effort.Class mates were helpful, the environment was always supportive, and the best advice I can give you is to get extra sleep and learn to ask for help early and often.

Challenging. Rewarding. Excellent.

TL;DR: The program worked for me. Seriously, I loved it.Why? I graduated from Tech Elevator's fully remote 14-week full-stack Java bootcamp in February 2022 and accepted a job offer in software engineering four weeks later.  Initial impressions: I was drawn to TE's focus on career development and job placement -- and its transparency in sharing those metrics. Another thing that compelled me to enroll was the ease with which I was able to get information about the program itself. The website was organized and I had a chance to learn specficis and ask questions during a virtual open house. (If a bootcamp's website leaves you confused -- if you can't get answers to simple questions from program reps -- that's a red flag.) HOWEVER: Will this work for me??? I mean, leaving your job (and maybe an established career, like I did) is a big deal and there's no guarantee you'll thrive or succeed. Also: Are bootcamps, like, still relevant? Are there really that many unfilled jobs and opportunities for bootcamp grads? Will I regret leaving my job? Am I too old for this? Am I a sucker??? (OK -- I'm taking some dramatic license here but you get the point: I am a bit of a skeptic.)And then ... The instructors. The program. The career development. The coursework. The book! (Yes, there is a book that you can read and study and have access to after you graduate. I took a part-time, six-month Trilogy bootcamp in 2017 and there was no book. Having pages makes a HUGE difference IMO.) As soon as the program started it all clicked for me: I absolutely felt I had made the right decision. My instructor was enthusiastic, so knowledgeable, compassionate, funny, organized, etc. etc. She answered tons of questions every day. She cared. She was a professional instructor, to boot! And the Pathway Program was excellent also. You get so much career advice and meet industry professionals and companies and former students. They set you up for success. They celebrate your excitement about taking the plunge. It's a fully supportive, professional, exciting environment and I only wish it had been a bit longer because I truly enjoyed every moment of it. Final thoughts: This program worked for me, but it's not easy. You have to work at it. Be dedicated. Give it 110%. If you do enroll, take it all in. Enjoy every opportunity they present to you and give it your all. You deserve it.

If others can do it, you can do it too!!

It was a bit long run before I got accepted by this bootcamp. I was wondering why it takes such long process to send my money to a bootcamp.... When the course finally started, I realized that they wanted to make sure you have a good understanding about what you will learn and what you will experience during the program. Many people around me doubted if I can really switch my career after several years of another great career. Here I want to say, don't doubt about yourself if you really want to make a change! Tech Elevator helps me successfully switch my career. I was considering taking a graduate CS course or taking a bootcamp. I am glad now that I chose the latter. My instructor - Greg, TA - Kevin and all Pathway program people really helps me whenever I need them, but only during weekdays.... Most of the time, it's not I went to talk with them, it's they came to talk with me. Until now, I still feel unbelievable that I can really make applications that I want through 3 months of learning experience! And most important part, they try to introduce many great companies in the matchmaking event. So you can really talk with the hiring recruiters from each company you are interested in. They are all great IT and financial companies all over the nation. The only thing that I found a bit disappointed is, some company was hiring during matchmaking, and then during the further hiring process, they decide not to hire at that time. The job market is up and down, you never know... But I'm glad that I still find an ideal job! Big shout to Tech Elevator!!

Truly life changing experience

I got my degree in marketing a few years back, but was never really happy with where I was and always had an interest in web development (spent some time self learning with free online training, but didn’t quite have the motivation to keep going). When I enrolled in TE, I knew they’d throw a lot at you since it’s only 3 months, but the course plan was laid out perfectly. It was intense, for sure, but my instructors (Mary and Katie) were extremely helpful with making sure everyone had a good understanding of each topic. The pathway program is really what makes TE stand out from other boot camps. Laura, Cierra, and Sarah made sure everyone was ready for the transition into the tech industry and they worked so hard to ensure everyone nailed their interviews and answered all questions thrown at them. Needless to say, I would recommend TE to absolutely anyone considering taking the leap into tech!

Amazing Bootcamp

This was definitely a life changing bootcamp. I highly recommend it. I worked as a cook for over a decade and decided to take the leap into the world of programming. I had close to no experience with programming and they turned that around in 3 months. It is very intense, and I felt like quitting many times. Imposter syndrome was prevalent the whole time. The support from my fellow classmates, teachers, and pathway directors was amazing and never ending. It helped to keep me going. The job hunt was strenuous, and my will to keep looking fluctuated. Tech Elevator continued to help me search for almost 6 months until I finally accepted a position. The endless support is there. You can complete the program, and you will find a job.

The Best Decision of My Life

Making the decision to join a coding bootcamp is incredibly nerve-racking. For most of the students I enrolled with, they were making a huge career change and taking a giant leap of faith. Including me.That being said everything about the Tech Elevator program went above and beyond anything I could've ever expected. It honestly was the best decision I have made in my life. If you are someone that knows coding is your future, then I would 10,000% recommend Tech Elevator as the school that will get you to that future. The content of the program was fulfilling, and I came out of it knowing I could succeed in the industry. The instructors are readily available to go over anything you are learning in the curriculum. Most of everything I was asked in any technical interview was covered during the course. The 14 weeks are incredibly challenging and there isn't a day wasted. You will come out of it prepared for any junior level developer job. I would suggest doing a basic coding tutorial before day one. It will go along way in the first couple of weeks, which is where I saw a lot of people struggling the most.Everyone from the pathway program worked incredibly hard to prepare me for my interviews, which in my opinion is where Tech Elevator really separates themselves from other bootcamps. You will give your elevator pitch multiple times to employers. You will also do many mock interviews with that will prepare you for any question that might be thrown your way. I have never been so prepared for any interview in my life, and I think that is the main reason I landed my current job. Also, shoutout to Peggy! She can answer any question about the job hunt that you could possibly think of.I think if you are ready for the career change and can afford it, this is the bootcamp for you! It's worth it.

Great Bootcamp

I am very glad that I made a decision to join TechElevator, it was probably one of the best things, where I could invest my time and the money! What I loved about the school the most is that everything was very organized, the instructors were very professional. In addition to that, they are always there to explain additional questions, etc., and the material that was given to us was up to date.I love the culture here and all the Pathway Directors are super awesome. The program itself has coding and career development. As for the program, it is very fast-paced, in a good way. That is the way that I like to learn, so I was able to adapt easily. It's what you would expect from a regular class. The difference, I think, is the staff. Anybody is there to teach you and help you with the current material. They also will take the time to help you as much as they can to make sure you understand the material, even outside of regular class hours. Career development involves helping you make an efficient resume, interviewing, and as well as a LinkedIn profile. They want to help make your resume look as good as possible for your future job post graduation, but also to help further down the line as well! When it comes to interviewing, they help with both HR-style interviews and coding interviews. If you want to step into the IT field but do not know where to start - Tech Elevator Bootcamp is the best place to reach!

Excellent program and staff!

I entered TE with no formal IT/Computer Science background - in fact I switched paths from Health Sciences (Occupational Therapy). I was quite anxious at first - venturing into a new field and the possibility of finding employment at the end of the program. They told us from the start to "trust the process" - and while at times it was challenging and I had my doubts in the end I completed the 14 weeks, 4 interviews and 1 offer from a large financial company in my city. You really do have to "trust the process" and by no means is this an easy 14 weeks. The Staff are incredible and very knowledgeable and will take the time to help you... however you must spend time outside class to study (reviewing, group study, etc.) as the modules move very fast and it is a lot of information to take in. It was worth it

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience

The program at Tech Elevator as well as the staff is the best in the business. Switching careers can be an overwhelming and daunting move but the Tech Elevator team understands this and does a great job of setting you up for success. On top of the incredible curriculum and instructors, TE provides a Pathway program that walks you through every step needed to find a job once the program is done. If you are considering a career change to software development, I couldn’t recommend Tech Elevator enough.

After 7 years of trying I finally broke into the tech industry

I don't have too much to say about Tech Elevator besides that they're the real deal. Their stellar instructors who will be available until late hours to help with capstone projects, their pathway program which truly preps you to be star interviewer and just the culture of being surrounded by peers and facility who want this for you as much as you do.I stared my journey with computer science 7 years ago and I at points tried to give up because completing 4 year degree didn't seem possible for me. I took the plunge and applied to Tech Elevator's National Live Remote Cohort in January of this year. Just today I accepted an offer with a base salary over double anything I have ever made in my life to work for my dream company in my dream field. I remember reading these reviews 6 months ago with starry eyes barely daring to dream this could be possible, but Tech Elevator helped make it possible. If you're willing to risk it on a full time boot camp to get into the field of your dreams then Tech Elevator is the program you should trust. My only two honest criticisms is the mock technical interviews could be harder (but please note for entry level, many companies weigh your behavioral responses infinitely more than what you already happen to know technically. I did not even have a proper technical interview or coding challenge for the position I accepted.) and while the remote campus is convenient, your employment outcome is heavily impacted by where you live. If you do the remote campus please meter your expectations for employment outcomes based on the tech market where you live and if you are open to relocation. This is not magic or a get rich quick scheme. Everyone with these stellar outcomes worked incredibly hard and had aptitude that employers could recognize.

Excellent program, staff, and support

Tech Elevator offers an all-around excellent program. It is intense, particularly during the final 4-5 weeks, when job search activity peaks and coincides with critical instruction and the final capstone. But the dedication of the staff across the board is impressive, and the quality of support they offer throughout is top notch.

Great Bootcamp, But fast paced

My experience with Tech Elevator was great! I would recommend becoming familiar with the basic concepts for the different languages you will learn, just because it is such a fast paced course. If you're dedicated to learning code and enjoy friendly instructors that will take the time to work with you, even after hours, then I highly recommend this bootcamp!

Truly Elevating

As someone nervous about switching career paths entirely, Tech Elevator really helped me thrive on my new journey. I felt like the information learned at Tech Elevator is extremely relevant to the current development world and the way in which the material was introduced was very digestible for someone with little to no programming background. The most evident attribute made clear to me throughout the whole program is that Tech Elevator is passionate about having their graduates succeed. They want you to find a job ASAP after their program and they help you to get there by providing whatever resources they can. If you invest 100% into the program you will get every benefit out of it and they will help you achieve those goals. The staff is absolutely excellent. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, the pathway directors are a wealth of support and the entire team clearly wants you to succeed. The remote setting was still very engaging and well structured and the networking opportunities are invaluable. I took another bootcamp upon landing my first job and it became evident to me how much better the Tech Elevator environment and instructors were from that bad experience. The only slight negative for me personally was that being located on the West Coast, the Tech Elevator network has not quite expanded as much to my area. They are really established in the mid-west and have excellent connections there. However, they are branching out and with the shift to a more remote/online work environment, opportunities are easier to find all over the country.
If you are seriously considering a shift into the development world you should absolutely apply to Tech Elevator, I know I'm glad I did.

full stack Java developer

last 4-5 years I was trying to join the coding world - never had proper training -- after that, the best decision I took is to join Tech Elevator. They just didn't teach me coding but the way it's used in real-life jobs.  Perfect course structure in Covid timing -- I was doing National Live Remote - but I never felt that it's an online course - from Sococo to slack - my instructor Andy Chong Sam is always there for us even late at late evening. I also like to thank Margaret Green for covering all my needs. Besides learning, I also had great advice on job preparation from Peggy. And after graduation now I got an offer and I will join there in June 2021. It's like dream come true and thank Tech Elevator for that.

High-Quality Program and Instructors

I was part of Remote Cohort 0 (TE's first remote program) in Java. My main worry before the program was that learning with a for-profit company meant that the coursework and instruction would be more aligned with profit than participants' best interests. Once I started, I was happy to find out that the program was intentional and fully developed in all the important ways: instruction, coursework, unstructured learning, career activities, etc. Even the course textbook was incredibly detailed, and I still refer to it sometimes now as a full-time developer. Our instructor Andy was a phenomenal instructor and a talented developer. I’ve now been working as a developer for around six months, and I can say that TE provided me a great foundation for modern, full-stack web application development.

Best decision I've ever made

This is the real deal, folks! Attending this program was one of the best decisions I've ever made. It is run by people who genuinely care about helping you and will do everything they can to do so. TE has the curriculum down to a science. They know what you need to know and how to teach it. The lectures do a good job at covering concepts through ample explanation and examples. The homework is effective at drilling concepts so that they start to become automatic. Their textbook is a great resource and really helped me grasp the concept before learning it in class the next day. I had a phenomenal teacher who was incredibly knowledgable, patient, kind, and cultivated a great learning environment where asking questions was always encouraged. Additionally, there were two academic advisors that were always around if you needed help, more explanation, or anything else. There was never a shortage of support. This program is really two-fold. The coding/technical education happens simultaneously with the professional skills education - the Pathway Program. This is one of the main reasons behind why I chose Tech Elevator. The Pathway Program prepared us for everything - how to make a killer resume and LinkedIn profile, how to talk to recruiters, how to interview, how to apply to jobs, and much more. It also hosts employer showcases, alumni events, and Q&A’s with professionals in the field. Then there's Matchmaking, a day towards the end of the program where you are set up with multiple back-to-back interviews with several companies looking to hire junior developers. I honestly don't have much in the way of criticisms of the program. It met and exceeded by very high expectations. One of the things that strikes me the most about this organization as a whole is how invested they are into your success. I always felt incredibly supported. By the way, that doesn’t end after the bootcamp ends - they are there to help you for up to six months afterwards with mock technical interviews, advice, and job leads. I felt very prepared going into my job interviews because of everything I learned there. And it paid off for me - by the time I graduated, I had already accepted a job offer. It bears mentioning that this is not an easy endeavor. It's one of the most challenging things I've ever done. You won’t have a life while you’re doing this. I barely saw my fiancee, let alone my friends or family. It’s intense, and I was working 60+ hours a week for 14 weeks. You will lean hard on your love for coding to keep you going. You will be so exhausted by the end, but you’ll learn so much about yourself and meet so many awesome people. Trust me when I say IT’S WORTH IT!

The right place to go if you want to start career in technology

I attended remote Cohort0 in Tech Elevator. Prior to start I have checked a lot of different bootcamps and I am very glad I have chosen Tech Elevator. It was my best decision ever! I had almost zero knowledge in coding. After 14 weeks program in Tech Elevator I was able to write code, test it and so much more. We have learned Java, SQL, Vue.js, REST, HTML, CSS, Scrum, and completed 4 real world projects. One of the best features of Tech Elevator is that you have a complex program learning technical side of your future profession and preparing for your job search. When I graduated I was prepared for job market. Instructors:The course overall has a very good organized system and curriculum. The instructors are experienced, dedicated and extremely helpful. Our instructor Andy was always ready to help and explain everything I was struggling to understand. He was there for us even in the evenings and weekends. Career Program:Also I had a great experience with Pathway Program. Our Career Coach Peggy Kachevas supported us during the cohort and helped in job search after the graduation. We had showcases with a lot of companies, that was a great chance to learn more about companies culture and meet hiring managers. I received an offer during first month after graduation.I highly recommend Tech Elevator! If you are ready to put a lot of work and dedication, their team of professionals will help you to succeed.

The Best Career Decision I'd ever made

I began my journey into software as a self-taught developer in January of 2020. In three months, my passion for software had driven me to learn the basics of QA automation, basic object-oriented programming, and to develop appealing web pages. I had secured a software engineering internship to begin in April 2020...we all know what happened next (I lost my position due to the pandemic). I continued my job search for months, going from weekly interviews to dead silence. I'd lost hope to continue on my own.Tech Elevator was the best career decision of my life. Although extremely rigorous, we covered nearly 3 months of my self-taught journey...in as little as 3 weeks. The curriculum covers object oriented programming, followed by databases, then API's, and finally web development. These are the skills need to build any full-stack application. They helped me refine my software development skills as well as my professional soft skills, capitalizing on my strengths and patching my weaknesses through practice and mentorship. Everyday, we'd have 3 hours of instruction followed homework and projects (this would consume the rest of the day until sunset). Every couple weeks, we'd meet with our Pathway Directors, who were responsible for helping us refine our job search, soft skills, and interview skills. I had the most fun during our four capstone projects, which were big projects that our skills (and mental durability) to its limits. After 14 weeks of lectures, Pathway, and capstones, I graduated Tech Elevator with some job offers in-hand. TL;DR: Tech Elevator is extremely rigorous but rewarding and efficient. This is a good step to finding a career in technology as a software developer. P.S. Andy Chong Sam is a great instructor. His lectures are clear and concise and he has no issues with changing the way he teaches. However, what makes Andy a superstar is his ability to teach 1 on 1. I promise you, things will click in no time with him around.
