The program was as challenging as advertised and because of that I feel prepared to compete for work in the field. I only wish the program was longer, because the environment and culture at Code Platoon perfectly facilitates an ideal learning experience. The instructors and TA's are incredibly knowledgable and supportive and they all deserve a huge shoutout for driving my cohort to success.

Code Platoon is a great coding bootcamp for vets and their spouses. I attended in person and got placed with a company through the internship program before I graduated.

Code Platoon was tough and very fast. It is best to go in knowing at least most of the content to some extent. Also, most students have created webpages or other projects before so the pace is intense. But the instructors, TAs and other students are very helpful and can help you. It is worth it. In my opinion this program is as good as it gets. I liked having full stack in one course. Lots of help is provided from configuring your coding environment, environment variables, getting the right packages, and sometimes downgrading to a package that works. The students are all very knowledgable and smart and can usually help you. cons: A lot of people take this course while already knowing almost all of it which can make you feel very behind. Some had already worked as engineers, many had already designed webpages. If you can help it you would want to have exposure to some or most of the curriculum. Additionally, the internships are competitive. If the class is large not everyone will get placed.

An extremely professional organization, dedicated to making every day of the course useful and productive. Course material is 90% learning things you'll need to get through interviews then hit the ground running and 10% here is the world of coding so you can decide if where you want to pursue you career.

I have a close friend and sibling who have attended other, more well known and very "prestigious" bootcamps and comparing Code Platoon comes out easily as good or better. The curriculum was really, really good in my opinion. You build to create django+react fullstack apps, and I think the knowledge base is a really good foundation. The class was small and for the field very diverse.

I originally picked this bootcamp because of the updated and relevant curriculum and the too-good-to-be-true reviews that I read online. I can say that even with the great reviews, this bootcamp has blown away my expectations. The lectures are clearly taught, there are TA's available to help during and after class time, and the students are all willing to help each other succeed. Additionally the curriculum is reviewed and updated each cohort based on the weekly feedback from students, meaning that each cohort will be better than the previous one. I have nothing negative to say so if you are a veteran or military spouse sign up, keep studying, and don't be afraid to reach out on Slack to ask alumni for help .

Originally, I was set to attend another bootcamp until I found out about Code Platoon. I did a lot of research trying to figure out which bootcamp would best set me up for a successful career as a SWE and ultimately decided CP was my best option. What really convinced me was the reviews of past students I found on the internet. Everyone spoke highly of this bootcamp and emphasized the amount of support you would get from peers, TA's, and instructors. The reviews on the internet were right, I had a really amazing learning experience. It was very challenging, but I felt I had the support I needed every step of the way. The curriculum is top notch, I don't think that get's mentioned in these reviews, but CP pays very careful attention to what and how something is being taught. As a former teacher, I really appreciated this aspect of the bootcamp. If you have the opportunity to attend CP, do it, it's the best coding bootcamp out there right now.

I attended Code Platoon as an in person student from May 2021 - September 2021. I did have prior knowledge of python. During my time there I learned html/css, javascript, python, Django, react, and other technologies. Along with that I learned soft skills that will benefit me in a team base environment. Along with the core technologies we also had guest speakers and workshops that gave you a different perspective of the coding world. The teachers at code platoon are absolutely amazing and technically knowledgable. Along with having the teachers help you with problems, we also had amazing TAs that were more than willing to help you with any questions on the lesson for the day. It’s encouraged to try the answer yourself because it allows you to grow as a programmer, but you have a network to reach out to. Overall I would definitely recommend this program to anyone that is on the fence about attending and glad I choose Code Platoon.

I am going to assume that at least some of the people reading this are either veterans or military spouses that have come across Code Platoon and are trying to decide if the program is worth it. I just finished it and I can tell you with complete confidence that it is worth every bit of your time and if you have the opportunity, do the application and commit to the course. If you are worried about the cost, lucky for you, they work with many sponsors that provide scholarships that cover most if not all of the tuition. To add to that, the team behind code platoon also works with these sponsors to provide internships and sometimes full-time positions following the course for many of the students, which I'm not sure any other boot camps do. The course itself is top-notch and the instructors are super knowledgeable and attentive to all levels of ability coming into each cohort. It will absolutely prepare you for an entry-level position in software. The stack they teach is up to date with the industry and the concepts you learn will give you a good base for starting and continuing down this career path. At this time, the course is fully remote which I expected to be a hassle but It didn't detract from the learning experience in my opinion.

I had a great experience at Code Platoon. The instructors are extremely invested in each student, and there is always someone to ask for help when you feel lost. I never really imagined that I could learn so much so fast. Also, aside from the coursework, the internship opportunities offered by companies to graduates at the end of the course is something that I had not read about being offered at any other coding bootcamp. The different kinds of scholarships and grants afforded to students to help with tuition also make this program a great opportunity for anyone able to attend Code Platoon.

The decision to attend a coding bootcamp was a hard one for me to make. I worried that the course would be too fast-paced and I would get left behind. Code Platoon immediately made me feel welcome and cared for and I knew it was the school for me. I never felt alone and there was always someone to help when I became stuck. I would highly recommend this bootcamp to anyone that is eligible to attend. It is a lot of work, but the instructors and TAs are there to support you. If you put in the work you will get through the course. This is the best decision I have ever made, and I am so thankful to Code Platoon for offering such a wonderful opportunity. I am proud to be a part of the Code Platoon family.

Code platoon has 3 major things that after my exhaustive search for a DoD skill bridge program that others simply do not have:1) A tech stack that forces you to learn multiple technologies and therefore become more confident in your ability to find the similarities in new languages and apply them. Don’t come here thinking you are just gonna learn JavaScript-everything-stack and leave it at that.2) A comprehensive soft skills program covering topics like wealth management, inclusion and diversity, and career/interview prep. I had historically struggled with interviews due to excessive nervousness- but taking a day per question to bullet point out my response and practicing it throughout the cohort (yes, including in front of the whole cohort of 22! Get out of your comfort zone!) made me realize that I am actually pretty damn good at interviewing, I just previously hadn’t been practiced enough.3) A network of top tier companies that are completely and utterly invested in the product that code platoon delivers. No where else will you find 3-4 members of a company with a combined 35 years of experience come in to present their offerings, give mock interviews, check up on students, and ultimately give paid internships to them. With all the amazing competition in Chicago, this demonstrates incredible faith these companies have that the students they place there have learned to learn.

I have nothing but gratitude for the entire Code Platoon experience. Life-altering may sound extreme, but that was genuinely the case for myself and many of my peers.Everything about the cohort is intelligently planned and designed. From dedicated instructors to an expansive network of TA's, mentors, career coaches, and speakers, Code Platoon makes every conceivable effort to prepare its students for a career in tech. They're honest, transparent and forthright from the very start. They remind you that the course is a full time commitment, and what's expected of you is that you put in your all. The work is abundant, but the instructors are realistic and practical. I and several of my cohort's graduates worked extremely hard, putting in several 12 hour days and pushing through consecutive weekends, but entirely by choice. Regardless of the workload, the instructors always reminded us to prioritize family and self-care, and to build a healthy work-life balance. You can expect instructors, TA's, and mentors that will bring their all to the table. If you place your trust in the program, you can rest assured they'll have your back all throughout the cohort, and afterwards as well.

As a military member I feel that this has been the greatest choice I have ever made. I can't believe how much we accomplished during my cohort and how much support we received throughout the program. I cant thank enough Code Platoon for helping reach my goals.

Code Platoon is absolutely a vehicle to make your life better, as long as you're willing to work hard. If you pay attention, learn, and don't quit, you can become a software engineer. Code Platoon has dedicated personnel to help you through the application, the course, and the job search afterwards. There are teaching assistants available most nights to help you with any work not completed during the normal school day which is hugely beneficial. The day to day instructors Tom and Noa are great! If you just show up and do the bare minimum, you will not receive the full benefits of the program. If you are willing to do what it takes, you will be employable. My class was fully remote due to Covid, and although I would have enjoyed being in person, being remote had no effect on the high quality of the course. The pictures I've seen of the building and classroom look really nice.

The experience here at Code Platoon was amazing. The overall curriculum was great as it incorporated both technical and softs skill curriculum which helps students learn to be a better overall software engineer. Before Code Platoon I didn't have a good resume, a strong Linkedin, or any idea on good interview practices such as white boarding and answering behavioral questions. Now, after graduating I feel I have obtained all the necessary knowledge and confidence to continue to grow as a developer and enter the work force.Code Platoon supplies so many resources and opportunities to the students such as, Mentors and TA's who are volunteer industry professionals, Instructors that always makes sure students are understanding the material, as well as an ability to obtain a AWS certification while attending. If you are a military veteran or spouse willing to put in the long hours of work for the next 4 months to become a software engineer this bootcamp is for you.

If you are thinking of breaking into software development this program is a must. It offers a fantastic curriculum and great instruction. I had no coding experience at all prior to enrolling and the program, while challenging, was very rewarding. There was always help when I needed it. No student was left behind in my cohort, even students like myself that were starting from nothing. What surprised me the most about the course was the career development and post-course opportunities. Internships are offered after the course and if you don't get placed in one of those, there are plenty of networking opportunities that you can take advantage of to ensure timely employment in the tech industry. Along with the instruction, Code Platoon has excellent alumni support, daily TA volunteers from within the industry, and mentorship that lasts throughout the program and beyond. This program far exceeded my expectations and has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
