Full Stack Developer

I attended 01 Founders Coding School with high hopes, but I have to say that my experience there left me deeply disappointed. To put it bluntly, the school felt more like a circus than a place of serious learning.One of the major issues I encountered was the so-called "game test" that is supposed to assess your coding skills. It quickly became evident that many students were cheating on this test since all the solutions could easily be found on YouTube. It's disheartening to see such a lack of originality in the assessment process.Furthermore, the 3-week selection test, which is supposed to evaluate qualities like drive, collaboration skills, attendance, and grades, turned out to be more of a popularity contest. It became clear that if Hana, a key figure at the school, didn't favor you for any reason – whether it was related to supporting a different football team or personal bias – your chances of getting in were close to zero. It's quite disheartening that this school is widely known for such practices, and I witnessed students going to great lengths to win Hana's favor, even resorting to singing songs to praise her with a guitar 🎸.What's even more concerning is how Hana shows her disdain for certain students. She can be openly blunt and dismissive towards those she doesn't like while making an effort to engage with others right in front of the rejected students. This unprofessional behavior is simply unacceptable for an institution that claims to provide a high-quality education.The school may argue that they have a panel of people for the selection process, but it's evident that they are all friends who engage in unrelated activities on social media. Their questionable qualifications and questionable connections raise doubts about the fairness and integrity of the admissions process.The staff also left much to be desired. The environment at the school felt more like a clique than a professional educational institution. Hana herself, who plays a central role, lacks the qualifications one would expect from someone in her position. Her tech experience appears to be primarily limited to working as a self-employed web designer, which anyone with basic knowledge can do. Furthermore, it's concerning that some of her companies seem to be connected to her friends, suggesting a questionable use of references.Ultimately, my experience at 01 Founders Coding School was far from what I had hoped for. It seems to be a watered-down version of more reputable institutions, where the staff engage in unprofessional behavior, make little effort to actually teach, and prioritize personal connections over merit. It's disheartening to see that the only way to gain admission is by currying favor with Hana or offering gifts. In my opinion, this school is not worth anyone's time or investment, and I would strongly advise against considering it as an educational option.

01Founders is an amazing opportunity for anyone looking to break into the tech sector. They accept all applicants regardless of academic background/achievements. I'd encourage anyone looking at applying to 01Founders to give it your best in the selection pool and you'll get far!  

Excellent, modern and well stream lined course. With no significant coding background, I found myself comfortable and fully immersed in a work like environment. The course staff were excellent and perfectly met my needs and helped where possible. I'd recommend to anyone irrespective of coding skills.
