I came from Academia with a PhD in seismology, and was hired at Pictet Asset Management just before then end of SIT data science bootcamp. What I learned at SIT Academy was really valuable during the interview process and afterward. SIT Academy alumni network was also a big help as I could receive advices from an alumni working at the company I was applying for. Looking back these were three great months in Zurich, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering joining the class.

I participated in the Data Science Full-Time bootcamp, and despite all the fear and hesitation because of my low level coding skills it was by far the best step I took to improve them and more. I definitely learned more than I anticipated in the course of 3 months AND from no chance of finding a job in a new country to having a new door of possibilities open for me.I would like to address the most important aspects of this bootcamp:The Curriculum:In order to be accepted one must pass a technical interview. I was very happy when I was sent the materials that will be covered during the interview, practice as much as possible especially as a python beginner. After getting accepted and before the bootcamp begins I've received preparation material for the bootcamp which included statistics, math, git and coding exercises. The pre-work was constructed in notebooks which contained thorough explanations and accompanied with videos, articles and book recommendations not only to expand our knowledge in these subjects but also to brush up on things I’ve learned during university (which was long ago, longer than I wish to admit). The pre-work was a vital step to begin the bootcamp with more confidence. During the bootcamp I must say, it was tough but by all means worth it. I am still amazed how much I learned. The days are basically lectures until 12 (maximum until 14 - depending on the subject) and then practicing what we learned until 18. This structure made sure we understood the material that we learned and proved that programming skills are gained best by doing. The topics were very comprehensive and included many subjects to ignite the data science career as well as preparation for interviews. It consisted of programming tool kits, visualization, statistics, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, SQL and machine learning engineering. One of the best parts is that it included a number of group challenges after each major topic that helped us practice our knowledge and work in a team.During the bootcamp and especially during the group challenges we also learn how to present our results not only to data science experts but also to those who do not have such experience which will be handy in the future.Point for improvement: practice more statistics.Instructors:Probably what makes this bootcamp special, great instructors with lots of experience in the field. I have to give a shout out to Dipanjan Sarkar, our machine learning, deep learning and NLP lecturer, one of the best teachers I've had. Throughout the bootcamp we get the support of a teaching assistant to consult us when we encounter challenging problems, the bootcamp encourages us to try our best to solve our coding problems which is great practice for the future. The last month of the bootcamp is a capstone project done in collaboration with companies tackling real world data and business problems. Bootcamp lecturers are supervising these projects and support us in the process. These are a couple of intense weeks practicing our skills, participating in company meetings, planning a data science project, communicating about the problems and solving them together. To sum it up, I had a great experience and finished the bootcamp with a new passion for programming and data analysis.

The SIT Bootcamp is a game-changer for anyone who wants to change their career path or just expand their skillset. They provide very skilled and professional instructors as well as an extensive set of useful materials. Unlike other course providers, SIT Academy has an excellent network with the industry, allowing the students to find the ideal company to work for after the Bootcamp. I especially liked the mentorship program, where each student has their own mentor guiding them through every step of the application process.

This boot-camp sets you up with the fundamentals of coding and data science with the preparatory work, slowly ramping up over the course of the course and it finishes off by providing an opportunity to bring your newly-acquired skills to life in collaboration with external companies. I really enjoyed the structure of the lectures, the exercise sessions and the support given to us by the tutors. I also made great friends and made sure to enjoy all the way through. :)

Enrolling in the Data Science Bootcamp was a great decision to kick start my career change from academic sciences into the finance industry. The instructors and the course structure made it easy to go from beginner to advanced topics within 3 months, with enough flexibility to adapt the exercises or projects to our own expectations. The courses are really state-of-the-art, both technically and from a business perspective, with topics such as trustworthy AI, data translation, etc... The atmosphere was very positive and supportive all the time, which is really precious to keep motivation up during the intense moments. Instructors were very available and ready to help. For the job search afterwards, we got a lot of support to prepare our applications, although the network is mainly centered on Zurich (which is awesome if you're looking for contacts in the area).Overall, the Bootcamp exceeded all my expectations. I'm very grateful that I could start the career I was hoping for. I feel like I learned all the bases (and more) that I need in my current job as a Data Scientist, as well as the insights and perspective to understand business problems, and communicate meaningful results to my team and clients, but also bring some fresh ideas on the table.

The Propulsion Data Science Bootcamp consists of an eight week long curriculum in class, typically with lectures or presentations focusing on certain data science aspects such as Machine Learning, Hypothesis Testing, Visualisation, Web Scraping, Feature Engineering, all of which you might encounter during your day to day data science job later on. The lectures are given by experts from the field working in a broad range of industries. The afternoon consists usually of solving exercises on the topic of the lecture, also some beyond the scope of the lectures in case you might be advanced on a certain topic already previously. Thus you can identify topics which you might still need to work on, or topics where you can dive a bit deeper into.Lecture weeks are interleaved with 1 or 2 day long data challenges, also simulating a job application process. What I appreciated in particular was the 4-5 week long project with an industry partner. Having had no data science experience in a commercial setting previously, a project in a business environment allowed me to demonstrate to prospective employers that I can also explain findings to the business side of a company.Concerning technical details the course focuses on python and to less extend on R, the course program is developed and reviewed continuously by the Propulsion team in order to keep up with current activities within the data science community. After the course has finished during the job application process team members are willing to assist you or train you in an interview like setting. Since Propulsion has been active for a couple of years by now within the Zurich area, a valuable alumni network exists already in Switzerland which you might benefit from in addition.

My background is neuroscience research and I hoped to change my career from academia to industry. The course at Propulsion Academy is a perfect fit for me because it has a final project from a partner company, enough to have the feeling of industry experience. Even if the course itself was quite tough and challenging, I could enjoy and be relaxed because I knew the course covers almost all of the knowledge of any field of data science. The course material and personal notes are a big asset for my professional career. Out of the course itself, I really liked the overall atmosphere of Propulsion Academy. Staff are highly motivated and teaching assistants are always there to answer any questions. I also appreciate a lot for supporting job applications after the course. I can definitely say that I might not be able to achieve my career plan without joining Propulsion Academy. I’m sure that it was one of the best decisions in my life. If you’re serious about changing your career into data science and ready to dedicate yourself for 12 weeks, I highly recommend this course.

I decided to attend Propulsion Academy in the winter of 2020, during the height of the pandemic. I chose this boot camp because of its location in Zurich, and because they seemed to screen the applicants well before accepting them into the program.
I had been looking for a position as a data engineer in Zurich for most of 2020 without much success., After completing Propulsion I was able to land a job through Propulsion’s professional network.
I have a background working in the data industry, and I have a master’s degree in Information Science. I was hesitant to join the program because of my background, but I ended up learning so much and I came out of the program as a better engineer.
This course is for you if you have a background in a science or engineering related field. My cohort was a group of 12, and everyone had a graduate degree from a diverse range of backgrounds. The bootcamp consists of a lot of collaborative group projects, and since our backgrounds were so different, everyone solved problems with a different perspective. Collaborative group projects were one of my favorite parts about this program -- it was such a confidence booster and skill building exercise. (Nothing like college group projects :-)
The coursework itself is very demanding, and you will not have time to do much else. Due to the pandemic, our classes were 100% online; everyone was disappointed about this, but you know, that kind of sums up 2020. All things considered, I really enjoyed the online format. I have taken a lot of online college classes and was never a fan, but Propulsion managed to keep all of us engaged through active participation during lectures and interesting slides. I felt like I got to know my peers and instructors personally, despite never meeting them in person.
At the end of the course there is a 3 week capstone project that is often in collaboration with an organization. It was really cool to see how much the class had learned in the last 12 weeks. I would absolutely recommend Propulsion Data Science to anyone with the appropriate background. You will come out with more technical skills, a better ability to perform technical interviews, and the opportunity to become involved in Zurich’s data technology professional network.

Being already in the field of data analytics, I took this course since was keen on deepening my knowledge and skills in applied data science and related best practices. The course is definitely an intense unique experience composed of applied knowledge, exercises and group challenges. The learning-by-doing approach allows you to develop a solid skill set in a short time. Furthermore I appreciated the opportunity to learn from experts in the field about best practices and trends, especially in the constantly evolving field of deep learning!Additional sessions were provided to either cover related topics such as ethics in data science, or where experienced data scientists shared their career journey with us, returning a broad context of the data scientist role in different industries. Finally, this course is also a great chance to build a local professional network in data science and software engineering.

After having graduated from ETH in mathematics and 4 years working at Deloitte as Forensic technologist, I did the data science bootcamp at Propulsion Academy. I can definitely say that these 3 months were some of the most intense and exciting learning experiences of my life and I couldn't have possibly imagined the extend of knowledge and skills I'm able to absorb in such a short period of time. And this is mainly due to the extraordinary teaching, the overwhelming extend of all the material and the inspiring atmosphere among the motivated group of students. There so many things I loved about the Propulsion Experience, but I would like to highlight two things that in my opinion make this bootcamp truly unique. The energizing atmosphere:From my own experience data science is not something you learn by watching youtube videos and going through online tutorials. You have to get your hands on code and invest a lot of time in it. And to keep yourself motivated for doing that and keep your focus on the relevant aspects, it is essential of having great people around you. This highly energizing atmosphere around super motivated people from various differen backgrounds is exactly what Propulsion provides you from the first minute. During exciting weekly group challenges you don't just learn to code, but also work as a team and be as pragmatic as possible to get these riddles solved in incredibly short time frames. These are the moments where you realize how much you learn in such a short time.Industry Focus:Propulsion doesn't just issue a shiny certificate at the end and push you out of the door. Already during the program, through coaching sessions from the CEO himself, interview preparation and especially during the 3 weeks industry capstone project we were provided with a great entry into the world of data science in industry. Moreover, I experienced first hand that Propulsion is the perfect place to start your own business. Our Startup idea RevealApp started as a vision during the final project phase. With intensive coaching and help from the instructors, in just 3 weeks we managed to create a prototype of our software.About a year later today we are a team of 5, build up a business from scratch, established a great work culture and built a product now being brought to the Swiss market. During this long experience we knew we were never alone. being coached, guided and through developing the frontend for us Propulsion continuously supported us on our way and helped us getting there where we are today.

I took part in the Propulsion Academy data science Bootcamp from May to July 2020. It was worth every penny. I cannot recommend enough for any person looking to upskill or take the first steps toward a data science career to contact the propulsion team. What I liked most is the team. They simply do care about you and your learning and career objectives. It is a complementary team with strong industry expertise which you can sense at every interaction. The curriculum is up to date and does not focus on the buzz words but rather on building expertise bottom-up from the foundations to the latest applications. To my surprise, my favorite module was Stats as it helped us ask the right questions, design the right experiences and use the adequate tools for the problems at hand and believe me the solution is not always machine or deep learning. Last but not least is the end-of-program project done in collaboration with a company that guarantees real-world application and tons of fun, stress, and a steep learning curve. A word about my cohort which was just a fantastic gender-equal group of students eager to learn, collaborate and share. The Bootcamp selection process definitely works. Proud of those that made it to Google or eBay but also of those contemplating the entrepreneurial path.Best,

Prior to attending Propulsion's bootcamp, I already had the opportunity to gain experience in the tech space due to my work as an IT consultant with focus on product management of tech teams. However, what I always found challenging in creating really good products for users was to apply data-driven product management. In this regard, Propulsion's Data Science Bootcamp has exceeded my expectations. Thanks to the bootcamp and extremely qualified instructors, I can now develop the right products for the right customers in a much more targeted way using machine learning and deep learning algorithms. The data has always been there, but now - thanks to Propulsion - I'm equipped with the right skill-set to use it in a more meaningful way, which has been a really exciting journey for me so far.

There are so many details packed into the 2 months course work. Please note that one full month is spared for capstone project. This is very good because it is real experience with the business. The support provided from the school is very good. If the student encounter any problem, the teacher assistant from the school always be there to help solving the problem.
During the 2 months’ course work, the exercise covers very wide aspect of data science. The solutions provided really explained everything. Due to very limited time, there is no time to explain all the solutions. There is also no spare time to go over the solution later during weekend either. Because the course is packed and always have to move on. Even though it seems to be too much to absorb in 2 months. To get the most out of this course, the student must prepare to invest 100% of their time, no additional work or study.
The professor are excellence. They know their topic very well in debt. The teacher assistants are very nice very knowledgeable. For any question that they do not know the results, they help to find solution until the problem is fully solved. The documentation are very good. Please also note that all are provided on line. No paper or document are given. In conclusion, the results of this course is 100% more than expectation. Return from high cost is more than expect. IT worth the money and time invested. The results of self-study and a lot of self-practice through exercises is working. From the one who have no basic of computer programming, I can write python by heart after the course is finished.

Basic Python/Statistics: Fairly fast pace so having at least some prior knowledge will definetly help to give you an easier start. However some students in my class did not have prior knowledge but still managed to do it (with a little additional work).Numpy/Pandas: Very insightful and slower pace compared to the previous block.Machine Learning: Great blance between basic concepts, pitfalls and practical application.Neural Networks/Computer Vision: Insightful and a comprehensive overview of developments in the field (Grad-CAM, Bayesian NN, Transfer Learning, Augmentation etc.). However, I personally did not enjoy tensorflow2 all that much and switched to PyTorch after the class.Neural Networks/NLP: Good overview of a complex field.Final Project: Propulsion receives many real-world projects from different companies which is great for students looking to find a job. However, you might be assigned to a project that you're not super interested in (even though they obviously try to cater to your interests). If you happen to have any data to work on that really interests you, you can also work on one of your own projects during this time. I brought data that required a lot of domain knowledge in medicine, and while I therefore wasn't able to receive the helpful feedback from the instructors that other students got, working on a project during a short time frame, with a non-medical but very tech-savy classmate and then presenting it to a non-technical audience was a really important experience. Overall, I highly recommend it! Always 1 instructor + 2 teching assistants in the room and a lot of smart/driven students from different backgrounds.

It is one of a kind bootcamp with an intense workload but also quite engaging with a steep learning curve. The teachers, teacher assistants and community is very supportive. Would highly recommend this bootcamp for those interested in career transition.

I joined this data science bootcamp because I received overwhelming support from the staff and CEO of propulsion academy as soon as I submitted my application online. Even though my background was in Economics and I was new to the world of programming and data science, the propulsion team were confident that I could complete the course successfully and get a job as a data scientist with their help and support. The ongoing communication to address my concerns about the final project, the Swiss job market and whether I could keep up with the material, is why Propulsion stood out compared to other bootcamps that I was considering. I got the strong feeling that they cared about every student as an individual and were devoted to maintaining a strong network of alumni. The bootcamp was very intense - I was amazed at how good the instructors were and how much I could learn in just three months! As Propulsion is also a well-known company in Switzerland, this experience has opened up many doors for me in the data science industry. If you are still unsure whether this bootcamp is right for you, I would say go for it! I attribute a large part of my professional success to the technical skills that were taught and people that I met during this bootcamp.

Propulsion Academy’s full-time data science bootcamp is an amazing 3 month-long, non-stop learning experience. The format allows immediate and intense, collaborative practice of learned concepts and skills and the industry team project in collaboration with a local tech company really pushes the challenge a step further by allowing the application of acquired skills to solve a real-life problem. A great advantage of the program is its industry network and the invaluable support students receive in their job search from the staff. I think it's not exaggerating to say that this is the best bootcamp in Switzerland, and probably one of the best in Europe at large.

Coming from an academic research background in the sciences, I was looking for a gateway into industry as a Data Scientist. I found Propulsion and was skeptical at first, just like anyone is when they see a concept they haven’t yet experienced. The warm reception I received during the interview process, the impressive list of instructors on the website, and the various backgrounds of the other students got me quickly convinced that I was in the right spot. It was all uphill from there!

I attended the Data Science Bootcamp at Propulsion Academy to grow professionally and to give my career a new direction. I am really glad I took this step, because I probably learned more in the last few months than ever before within such a short timespan. The course covers everything from statistics to python programming, machine learning, deep learning and natural language processing, and includes also an introduction to SQL and machine learning engineering. The curriculum is well-structured and the instructors are very competent. The Propulsion team has managed to move the teaching, group work and all the contents to an entirely online version to avoid interruptions of the courses when physical presence in the class room is not possible due to the pandemic. During the last month of the course, I worked on a real-world problem for a database provider, which was also relevant to my previous professional background. Propulsion goes to great lengths to maintain a broad network of companies and to link up students for suitable final projects. In some cases, these projects lead to jobs after the end of the course. Propulsion also offers coaching for the job search and support in terms of interview preparation and making contact with employers. I'm starting in my new position next week, where I will be working with text data for a really cool organization (just two weeks after finishing the course).

From the very first day of inteoduction, we felt at home, like a second family. All the staff has been dedicting their life and energy to the perfect contribution for each other, but especially for the students. The course is challenging, and it really boosts you (from Propulsion hehe) in high speed to be at the forefront of research in Data Science! Sometimes I had to struggle, but the feeling of accomplishing little steps going through the way was very rewarding. The final project phase is interesting and important, there we were able to implement what we had learned during the course and give a business touch to it! For sure, it’s an added value when compared to other bootcamps. The connections coming from the Propulsion network are very valuable!Whoever thinks of a career change into Data Science, this is the place to be!
