Data Engineering Bootcamp

My experience with the Data Engineering Bootcamp at Big Blue Data Academy has been very positive overall. From the very first modules, the bootcamp delivers exactly what it promises: hands-on learning. Starting with building strong Python foundations, the program steadily progresses toward real-world data engineering practices.
Over the course of four months, the curriculum enables participants to develop a solid skill set and confidently build an end-to-end, production-style data project. The balance between theory and practical application makes the learning process both effective and engaging.
The instructors were consistently supportive and approachable, always available to clarify questions and provide guidance. Their experience and daily involvement in the tech industry added significant value, offering practical insights that go beyond textbook knowledge.
Overall, the bootcamp provided a strong foundation for anyone aiming to transition into Data Engineering and gain exposure to real-world workflows and tools.

If you're looking for a structured and methodical way to master the essential tools for a career in data engineering, then this bootcamp is for you. This bootcamp provides hands-on experience with core technologies used in the real world.  From building solid foundations in Python and SQL, to creating full data pipelines with tools like Airflow, the program enables learners with experience to grow in a short period of time.  The schedule is quite tight; however, the material will remain available after the completion of the lessons and from now on, Databricks will also be  included. 

Overall, the bootcamp was a satisfying and engaging experience, with plenty of hands-on training, practical exercises, and strong guidance from most of the teaching staff, including instructors and assistants. The program is well organized and fast-paced, so having an analytical mindset and a solid understanding of basic Python is important.There are a few areas where the experience could be further enhanced incorporating more real-world industry examples, and providing slightly more structured live coding sessions with extra walkthroughs and hints. Additionally, a longer or more flexible program timeline could be beneficial for participants who prefer a smoother and more gradual learning pace.Overall, it was an exciting and valuable journey into data engineering.

This is my second Bootcamp that I attend from Big Blue Data Academy. Previously I attended the Professional Diploma in Data Analytics and I was so pleased with the experience and the overall result that I felt the need to continue my journey in Data and so I chose the Data Engineering Bootcamp in order to delve deeper and expand my data skills.

Having already completed the Professional Diploma in Data Analytics at Big Blue Data Academy, an experience I was extremely satisfied with, I decided to continue my journey with the Data Engineering Bootcamp—and I’m glad I did. The program is intensive and covers a wide range of essential tools and technologies, from Python and SQL to Docker and Airflow, providing a strong foundation for anyone looking to transition into data engineering.What stood out the most was the hands-on approach and the real-world orientation of the projects, which helped me consolidate my skills. At the same time, I appreciated the dedication of most instructors, many of whom are active professionals in the field. On the flip side, a few sessions felt less structured, with certain instructors assuming prior knowledge that beginners might not have—something that could be improved in future editions of the program. Also, while the bootcamp is quite demanding, especially if you are working full-time, this is something to expect from such an accelerated learning experience.Another strong point of the program was the career support that came along with the training. Apart from the technical skills, we also had sessions dedicated to CV building, LinkedIn optimization, and interview preparation. What I personally found most useful were the individual discussions with instructors, where I received direct and practical feedback tailored to my own profile, as well as advice on how to approach the job market more strategically.Overall, I would recommend this bootcamp to anyone who wants to build a solid entry point into data engineering, especially if they value a practical, project-driven approach combined with strong networking and career support opportunities.

Overall, it was a very positive experience. The instructors were extremely well-prepared and shared not only theoretical knowledge but also real-world examples from their professional journeys, which made the learning process much more engaging and practical. One point I would mention as constructive feedback is that I would have liked the Azure module to be a bit more in-depth. Given how important Azure is in today’s job market, it would be helpful to have more lessons and case studies, similar to the comprehensive approach taken in the Docker section. That said, the bootcamp provided a solid foundation overall, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to enter the data engineering field.

The Data Engineering Bootcamp by Big Blue Data Academy is a well-structured and intensive program that guides you from the fundamentals to more advanced topics. It’s ideal for those looking to build a solid foundation and progressively deepen their knowledge in data engineering.I gained hands-on experience with tools such as SQL, Python, ETL/ELT processes, Docker, Apache Spark, Airflow, and cloud-based pipelines. The final project offered a valuable opportunity to apply everything in a meaningful, real-world scenario — and I’m proud of what we accomplished.I also appreciated the collaborative atmosphere among participants, and I want to emphasize that the instructors were very willing to help with any questions, which greatly contributed to a supportive learning environment.
That said, I personally found it a bit challenging to connect with the teaching style of some instructors. While their expertise was evident, at times the content could have been delivered in a more engaging and accessible manner. I share this as constructive feedback aimed at enhancing the experience for future students and iterations of the course.
Overall, I learned a lot and I’m grateful for the knowledge gained and the people I met along the way. This was a meaningful step forward in my journey toward becoming a data engineer.

This bootcamp was my first step in transitioning from my previous field to the data industry, and I’m happy to say that it not only met but, in many cases, exceeded my expectations.
The curriculum was comprehensive, providing a solid foundation in essential skills while also offering hands-on experience with many of the tools and technologies commonly used in real-world data environments. The program was well-structured, ensuring a gradual and thorough learning experience.
The instructors were both knowledgeable and supportive. Most of them are professionals actively working in the data field, which allowed them to share valuable real-world insights and examples. A major highlight was their willingness to provide guidance, whether answering questions or assisting with the final project—even outside of regular lesson hours.
Additionally, the Job Assistance service was extremely helpful. Beyond presentations on crafting an effective CV, optimizing a LinkedIn profile, and preparing for job interviews, the program also offered one-on-one sessions with instructors. These sessions provided personalized feedback on resumes and LinkedIn profiles, as well as insights into the job market and tailored job search support.
Another valuable aspect of the bootcamp was the networking opportunities it created—not just with fellow students but also with instructors and past alumni. These connections proved to be an excellent resource for knowledge-sharing and career growth.
I should note that as the program progressed, the lessons and exercises became increasingly demanding. The final project, in particular, was the culmination of the bootcamp, requiring students to apply everything they had learned to build a real, working project—an experience that was both challenging and rewarding.

This bootcamp is a great introductory course to gain an understanding of the technologies and processes involved in a Data Engineer's career. All the instructors were helpful and proactive, and made sure to ask each participant personally about any pending questions. There were a lot of hands on exercises, which is exactly what I was looking for and is necessary to fully grasp the concepts discussed in theory. However, if you already have a background in coding, the first 2-3 weeks may feel like a very slow start, because the course begins with very basic python (eg. variables, if statements, for loops). I would have also liked to see a little more emphasis on the industry's best practices, dos and don'ts, and a little bit of data warehouse design. I am not sure if this idea fits the company's business model, but I think it would be beneficial for the students if the course was split into total beginners and intermidiates. 

During the Data Engineering Bootcamp, I gained hands-on experience as an example building data pipelines with Docker and Apache Airflow and improved my SQL skills.In general, the bootcamp helped me to have a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of the data engineering workflow and processes.This bootcamp is more than just an introduction. It equips you with the skills and knowledge to launch a career in data engineering.However, be prepared to dedicate significant time and effort – it's definitely an intensive program! The instructors and staff were fantastic! They not only explained topics clearly but were also always available to answer questions and provided feedback on our questions/concerns. Second time attending a bootcamp of Big Blue , and the experience was equally great . My first experience with the organisation wowed me and set the standards really high. This second experience met these standards in every way. Regarding Job Searching Assistance of the programe, the network of professionals familiar with big blue is quite expansive and the programes are held in high regard. Of course there are no guarantees but the network that opens to you through these programes is invaluable , especially considering the short time frame of each programe. It helps a lot.

High quality course for a solid entrypoint in the field of Data Engineering. All lecturers are well-established in their respective fields and active professionals in companies. The bootcamp is quite demanding and you should have at least an introductory knowledge of python and some familiarity with the linux terminal if you are planning to attend. The airflow apache and microsoft datafactory topics could be given more time, but then the bootcamp would have to last longer. We were taught the stack currently used in the industry. I am really happy with my choice and a big thanks to the whole Big Blue team.

The Big Blue Data Engineering is one of a kind. The professors acquire theoretical knowledge and practical, as they all are professionals. The structure of the program was excellent, so as the material. The live coding after every course was the most critical and valuable period of the lecture. During the bootcamp, I obtained a deep understanding of a variety of technologies, such as Python, Databases, Virtual Machines and Containers and Airflow. Finally, the bootcamp dedicates some of it's lectures hours, in order to help us create the best CV and LinkedIn profile and also guides us for the interview sections. To sum up, I believe that it was an impressive experience and a good opportunity, to sharpen my skills and stand out as a junior Data Engineer.
