I recently completed the BeachCoders Codewave Immersive 1on1 and I must say that I'm blown away by what I was able to learn in such a short time. I originally signed up for this because I have a busy schedule and wanted to learn to code. I was thrilled to find this program because it’s both a part-time program and affordable. My knowledge and confidence have improved as a result. The instructor was super friendly, patient and worked with me until I got it which really made me happy. The director also devoted time to help me improve my LinkedIn page which made it look more professional. Overall, I would highly recommend this!
Graduate 2018
Went into this class blind and new to coding. After the classes, I now have a good understanding of how to code and it's very cool seeing what i can put together now!
Graduate 2017
A wonderful, practical school, for both raw beginners and students who already possess some coding experience and want to broaden and update their skills. Instructors are knowledgeable, personable and fun, and infinitely patient. No matter how often I said, “I don’t know,” the instructor stuck with me, sometimes demonstrating and more often feeding me questions and hints to help me come to a solution. I came in seeing code as something that would liquify my brain, and I came out after just 4 weeks with the basics, resources and confidence to move forward in coding. 5 stars and high recommendations. (Can't comment on job assistance yet - too soon. But I know it's available.)
Graduate 2017
Went from absolute beginner to having a working knowledge of front end development.

We learned a large amount of information in a short amount of time. But this course really is the reason I might actually START in the software engineering/development industry, and I don't know what to say more than that. This was probably one of the top best decisions of my life outside of choosing college, choosing Software Development as the industry for me and moving to Los Angeles, CA. We learned how to do things from scratch and how to work through problems when they arouse, as well as how to create ACTUAL applications. I think we build like 5-10 applications in class. Pretty impressive. Some small apps we made we're: a currency convertor, weather application, movie website, game of Thrones character search website, a Donald Trump vs Lord Voldemort fighting game(Javascript/JSX), a calculator(React), as well as a ton of other really cool applications. If I had to redo anything, I would literally sign up again for this class without regret. One of the best investments I've made!
Graduate 2016
I moved from Spain to Los Angeles to attend this course and i would do the same again if I could!
Before starting the course i knew some HTML and CSS and just a bit of JavaScript so I wasn't sure how much I will end up learning in only one month...
Our professor, Christoph made things super easy to follow and understand, giving us tons of usefull examples and coding along exercises. All classes were recorded so we were able to check everything we learnt on home later.
We were able to creat different apps that I wouldn't expect me to develop and what it's more important, get to love coding, so right now I feel confident enough tos tart developing my own projects
Graduate 2016
I started this course with very little knowledge of HTML, looking to reinvent myself in a completely different jobmarket. The instruction is fast paced but, Cristoph, amazingly explains everything in a way that makes it easy to understand. The important part of this course is to put in as much time as you can practicing and researching. You'll get exactly what you put into this course with the extra time and effort. "There is no progress without struggle."
Thank you Cristoph and Beach Coders!
Graduate 2016
I came into this course only knowing the very basics of HTML & CSS. I was really nervous on day 1 but found myself to be excited as days went on. My instructor, Christoph, was super knowledgeable, helpful and taught our class in the best possible way. I really appreciate him squeezing in as much information as possible. You must spend a lot of time practicing on your own outside of class otherwise you may fall behind. I enjoyed this class very much and highly recommend it. I feel that I have learned a lot and I am excited to continue coding and growing to be as good as Christoph one day! :)

I recently attended the Front End Web Development course from Beach Coders. I really didn’t know much about coding going in, but I knew I needed to learn. This course definitely helped me learn a LOT! We covered HTML, CSS, Javascript and went further into Bootstrap, jQuery, API’s and even React. I learned about best practices in today’s coding environments. The instructor was very friendly and patient. We did some team coding and I’m now building my first app. Beach Coders gave me the tools and the confidence to start job prospecting. Beach Coders also works with Launch Code who will help me get a tech job. I highly recommend this course!
Graduate 2016
I have been trying to learn web design and HTML, CSS & JavaScript for a year but never had someone to piece together the picture for me. I thought I could do it on my own but it just got me more confused. It's so different having a human to teach you rather than just learning from Codecademy and those self-learning sites.
The instructor was very knowledgeable and was able to point me in the right direction even after the course was finished. The curriculum was clearly outlined and it was a lot of work but so worth it in the end - I learned a ton! If you spend 1-2 hours outside of class to study then you should be fine - don't procrastinate!
All-in-all it was a great course that opened my eyes to what programming really is and where it could take me.
Graduate 2016
I just finished the August 2016 "bootcamp."
If you have no experience with HTML, CSS, or Javascript, you may find this course to be useful (though I would still argue you'd find a better value going through the freecodecamp.com program). If you have any background at all, you'll find there's not much for you here.
The course provides a very surface-level overview of some of the technologies you need to learn to to get a job as a front end developer, but it is NOT the same caliber nor does it go to the same depth as some other coding bootcamps (such as Codesmith). Most importantly -- there is NO emphasis placed on learning how to solve problems, which is perhaps the most important skill a developer can have.
The program accepts everyone and has no prerequisites, which sounds nice and inclusive, but in retrospect should have been a red flag -- the class ends up teaching to the person in the room who knows the least. If that's you, you're in luck. If it's not, you are twiddling your thumbs.
I wouldn't characterize the program as a complete waste, but there are DEFINITELY better options out there in terms of value for what you'll learn. I would recommend exploring some of the free or affordable meetups available through Codesmith / Build With Code and Learn to Code LA. For the price, you definitely get more value for the money going through the programs offered online by Treehouse and others.

I really loved the time I spent here! Cristoph is so sweet and very imformative and helpful! 10/10 would do again.

The course lived up to my expectations and beyond even though I consider myself an experienced web specialist. It's impossible to have a complete knowledge of all the nuances of web development so I took the course as a personal refresher and to get a guage of some of the newer technologies and review some best practices. This class is beneficial to even those who have more advanced technical knowledge of web development and I highly recommend it.

Most computer science majors spend the summer relaxing or researching but beach coders is a great oppurtunity to learn a lot of practical things on the front end that aren't in the curriculum like Javascript, html, and css. It's not nearly as difficult at C++, python, ect. so non CS students would be absolutly fine learning too. The teacher is very patient and personable. The classroom is comfortable and location is also easy to get to by public transit. I fully recommend it. They have supplied me with the tools and now I can go forth and learn and continue to become front end devolper.
Graduate 2016
I took the course and found it to be a great experience. The instructor was passionate and made it fun! Even though it was a lot of content in just 4 weeks, by the end of the course I had absolutely no doubts at all. Super professional content, I felt everything we covered was on the cutting edge of front end development. I absolutely recommend it!
Graduate 2016
I took beach coder's front end web development course in June 2016 and it was absolutely amazing. I learned so much in the 4 weeks of being there that I now feel 100% confident as a web developer. As a matter of fact, I can safely say that this course reignited my passion for coding. The instructor was so passionate and knowledgeable about web development, that he actually made it a fun experience. Plus what I liked the most is that the instructor was there for us everyday to help us out personally and to answer any of our questions. Thanks Beach Coders! I highly recommend this course!
Graduate 2016
This has been a great experience.
Graduate 2016
Coming into this program felt very intimidating and overwhelming at first. However, from day one, the lessons were great and very easy to understand, thanks to the friendliness and assistance of our instructor. Despite the course being four weeks, I learned so much and I feel comfortable with using the skills I developed and being able to apply these skills in the future. Thanks, Beach Coders!
Graduate 2016
Great course, great staff! Very involved personnel that take an individual approach to assisting any student's needs. Beach Coders goes above and beyond to accommodate needs and all skill levels in the related area of study.
Graduate 2016
This course was great since I was a beginner. I had signed up for online courses, but I wanted to get a solid foundation. It was nice to come in and have an instructor face-to-face instructor to learn the basics. It was a small class environment, and it was nice to be able to ask questions as the class was in progress. The class met everyday, except weekends, for four weeks. It was less daunting than I initially thought, and after taking this course I feel confident with moving forward with my coding skills. The instructor was great and knowledgeable. It was great to have him work through what we'd be learning, and then given an exercise to practice the new skills. The instructor would also provide third party resources that were invaluable, whether it was being able to practice our coding skills or areas to help us when we stumble. Great course.
