Code Academy

I have attended Bay Valley Tech for several months now and I feel more ready for jobs than I was when I first started. My knowledge has improved, I've worked with groups to get real world experience and I've met amazing connections who I've befriended. 

Bay Valley Tech (BVT) is a good program if you want a more structured way of learning and a good place to start. It is free compared to other bootcamps but don't let it deter you away as they provide good resources and staff are helpful. I can only speak on behalf of the Code Academy. There are about 4 "modules" which is basically 4 different classes needed to complete the Code Academy, with each class lasting about 2-3 months. The staff and instructors are very helpful and nice but due to their gaining popularity there is usually an overabundance of student to instructor ratio so communication could take a little longer than expected. The curriculum is good but ultimately should be supplemented with other projects and learning materials outside of BVT coursework. As I have said, BVT is a good start to learning or honing your coding skills and want a more structured way to do so. BVT is more of a gateway and stepping stone to becoming a good software developer. They are located in the Modesto California, so their job assistance and their internship will mainly only be there and for the surrounding area. Overall I would recommend BVT for anyone hesitating to join. 

 Embarking on my journey to break into the tech industry, I found myself drawn to Bay Valley Tech due to its unique proposition of offering a comprehensive coding education for free. With skepticism initially clouding my decision, I was eager to explore whether this program could truly equip me with the skills and mindset required to thrive in the tech world. 
The instructors at Bay Valley Tech have been instrumental in shaping my understanding of coding beyond just the technical aspects. Their approach extends far beyond mere instruction, delving into the importance of cultivating a growth mindset. This emphasis has significantly influenced my approach to learning and problem-solving. Throughout the program, I engaged in a variety of activities and projects that served as critical building blocks for my development as a coder. These hands-on experiences were invaluable in solidifying my grasp of coding principles and preparing me for real-world challenges. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity and wholeheartedly recommend Bay Valley Tech to anyone seeking to launch or advance their career in technology, regardless of their prior experience or knowledge.

They provide excellent courses for FREE with an environment full of like minded individuals wanting to learn, grow, and thrive in the tech industry. The community is amazing and the opportunities being provided are fantastic.

Bay Valley Tech has an amazing community of students and teachers that help start and/or advance your technical skills in the tech field. I initially started because I wanted to learn how to create websites from scratch and throughout that process I learned I had a love for all things data. Through Bay Valleys networking events and them helping me create a LinkedIn I was able to connect with others in the data science field and get insight on the job market for my chosen career path. The online technical skills as well as the in person communication skills I have learned in from Bay Valley have been invaluable so the fact that it is free to join with an optional paid internship position is just amazing. I highly suggest Bay Valley Tech to everyone and anyone who wants to get into tech but aren't quite sure of what path to take. Its free and flexible so long as you are open an honest. The barrier for entry is low but the pay off is ridiculously high! Highly Recommend!!!

I have been an intern/student at Bay Valley Tech Code Academy for a few months now, and I've had the best learning experience. If you sign up for the Code Academy then you will learn the fundamentals of Web Development. Before the internship, they start you off with the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, then once you've got a good grasp on those concepts they go into React.js, Express, and MySQL, along with other foundational skills like Git/GitHub. They will put you into groups so that you can collaborate with your peers. Overall, I would say that the Code Academy is worth it if you want to learn everything web dev related! 

My decision to join Bay Valley Tech in June 2023 has proven to be a game-changer for my programming skills. The coursework and internship will significantly improve the skills of individuals with a computer science background (like me). While the training is free, it does demand your time, effort, and determination to grasp the material. However, the value it adds to your skill set and career prospects makes it a worthwhile investment. Bay Valley Tech is not just a place; It's a community of great people!

 Bay Valley Tech offers the free Code Academy program, which is amazing. I learned extensively about both front-end and backend development, equipping me with the skills needed to transition into a full-stack developer role. The bootcamp provided ample networking opportunities, personalized resume reviews, and even partnerships with government entities for paid internships. This experience was invaluable in helping me gain the necessary skills and more connections to pursue a career in web development!!

Bay Valley Tech is a great place to learn code while also meeting new peers for support. Not only do you learn to code in some languages, but you also learn about different framworks, tools, and how to draw up figma designs. 

 I am really enjoying the experience with BVT! I was able to learn essential web development skills like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and more. And the best part is, it's all free! The instructors are supportive and knowledgeable, making learning effective. The opportunity to learn and network without any tuition fees makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking to start a career in tech.

I saw that they offered coursework with a guaranteed internship locally. I enrolled into their Code Academy course last year and learned many things on web development. I am now working as an intern. So overall, an amazing place with amazing people!

I saw this as an opportunity to gain more experience in coding and to learn more, and honestly I've learned a lot more here than I learned in my college in a small amount of time. It's even free too, I highly recommend if you're wanting to learn more how to code, if you're switching careers, or if you want to gain experience in fullstack development and prepare yourself for a future career in that role. 

I completed the Coding Bootcamp, got a paid internship, learned so much, and was introduced to a great community of like minded individuals! I recommend to anyone looking for any of these things.

It was a great learning experience that was able to work with my schedule.  The fact that it was free and had such a great community was the icing on the cake!  I was able ot get help and build some valuable projects with other fellow students.

I was part of the 236 cohort and It has been such a wonderful experience. If I am being honest I feel like I have learned more here than I have in my college experience. The curriculm is pretty straight forward. The instructors are very helpful and go out of their way to assist you. They offer many opportunities to network with people that have been in the career field for many years. There is hands on experience with projects. There is a group system to make sure you have someone to reach out to if you are struggling with the course work. There is a wide range of skill level. You can join without having written a single line of code. As long a you are willing to learn this is a great opportunity to get into the technology space. Grading is based on pass or fail. As long as you meet the requirements for projects, keep up with the work, and attend the lessons you should be good! 

I had no direction in my life. Graduated with a degree and I realized I wasn't that interested in the jobs available for it. Thinking there were no other paths for me Bay Valley Teach made me realize that their are other options our there that pay well AND let me express my creative side the way I would like to.

BVT has taught me so much in only a few months. When I first started in the bootcamp, I only knew very basic css and html, but now I am able to make full websites with different frameworks libraries and API's. In just a short amount of time my knowledge on being a web developer has been helped exponentially.

Starting a tech job search during or after college with insufficient industry experience can feel intimidating and make one feel stuck without much to show to companies, since businesses prefer people who already have experience in the field. That is exactly the problem I faced after graduating, even though I was a computer science graduate with years of coding experience. Luckily young developers can highly benefit from Bay Valley Tech's digital skills boot camp and internship programs. BVT offers comprehensive coding training in latest and trending technologies that will make new developers hirable and provide them with skills they will likely need for the rest of their IT career. BVT gives students opportunity to work on some significant software projects which will enrich their coding portfolios and bring them one step closer to getting IT jobs. The company also offers career events, workshops, and resume reviews to further help their students find jobs. I'm glad to have enrolled in this internship and strongly believe projects I worked on with BVT and the skills I learned here will be really helpful for me in my tech career.
