Co.Lab Product Design Bootcamp

The three months I spent with my team at Co.Lab as a Product Designer had a significant impact on my career. We worked on a project from start to finish, and I got to fully experience my role as a designer. While we had room to be fully independent in our thoughts and decisions, we also had sufficient support from our mentor and the larger Co.Lab community. I got a job immediately after the program because I was able to apply some skills I had picked up/applied while designing my team's product to my technical interview round

It was a wonderful 8 weeks experience, having to build an MVP within a short term. Co.lab exposes you to the working industry; you get to work with a standard team, come up a detailed problem and solution statement, prioritize features, receive weekly feedback from your assigned mentor and then build.It is worth all the time and effort.

It was a hands-on learning experience, with real time feedback from mentors. Collaborating in real time with crossfunctional teams from different part of the world mimicking the real setting scenario and then delivering an MVP at the end of it all was a masterstroke

Co.Lab is an excellent boot camp for those looking to expand their skills and knowledge as a product designer, product manager, or developer. Colab is well structured and provides a hands-on learning experience in a cross-functional team environment. The mentors are knowledgeable and provide helpful feedback and guidance throughout the program. Resources made available to us covered a wide range of topics related to product design and even helped me build in public which aided me greatly in my job search. My time at Colab was concluded with a real-world project (Savour-it) that challenged me and my teammates to apply our skills and abilities. I highly recommend Co.Lab to anyone looking to improve their product design abilities, work in a real-world cross-functional team and take their career to the next level.

I've got so many job offers as a product designer after my role at Co.Lab. The experience has really boosted my resume and also helped me in interviews. I would recommend co.lab to anyone looking to start their career/boost their career in product design.

Interning at Co.lab as a product designer was a beautiful experience. I got to collaborate with my team members, and other students from different parts of the world, shared views, and communicated well, and the mentorship sessions were great. I would love to do this again

I had a great experience overall with Co.Lab! Before joining this program, I didn't have the skills and experience to work in a cross-functional team but I was able to gain those skills that I wanted. Through working with a team and having a mentor, I was able to accomplish my goal of joining the program. The main reason why I'm not giving it a 5-star rating is that I felt the program does not provide feedback to students about their work performance and ways to challenge students. I wish there were more ways to connect students with industry leaders and professionals who can provide high-quality feedback to improve their skills. However, the main pro of this program is getting that hands-on experience with a team which you don't get in other bootcamps or programs out there.

I had a great experience with Co.Lab! I'm a post-bootcamp grad and I didn't get to interact or work on projects with a PM or devs before this. Not having this experience really hurt my interviewing capabilities since I had no direct experience as a designer on real shipped products. Being in Co.Lab gave me more confidence in that I was able to apply my design process and thinking abilities while also helping me better understand how a product development cycle works. As a result of my experience in Co.Lab, I had more companies reach out for interviews and I felt my interviewing skills improve drastically from this confidence. If anyone is struggling looking for a role post-bootcamp, I would 100% recommend joining Co.Lab. Since it's part time, you can still job hunt while keeping up your technical skills and working with a cross-functional agile team. It's a win-win to me and totally worth it in the long run!

The experience was amazing! I gained my experience working in a cross-functional team, including two developers and a project manager. I would recommend this program to those who want to gain real-world project experience.

I wanted to get some cross functional team experience and this was exactly what I needed!  Working as the sole product designer on the team helped me understand better how to communicate and collaborate with developers and the product manager. Within 8 weeks, we were challenged to create an MVP. Our mentor was kind and helpful in guiding us along the way. This opportunity contributed to the skills I needed to land my first official UX design role and I’m super grateful to Co.lab! 

Co.Lab was an incredible experience. Going into the program I was hoping to reignite my love of working on a team after a lonely year of freelancing, I was hoping to gain confidence, and I wanted a portfolio piece I could really speak to, especially during job interviews. I can confidently say that I got all of that and so much more out of the program. With Co.Lab I got to work on a team with a Product Manager and two developers and together we created a product called Podball that helps podcasters speed up their editing workflow. This was all accomplished with the help of mentors and workshops as well as a whole community of other designers, developers and product managers to reach out to throughout the process. I came into the program with over three years experience as a UX /web designer, but I knew I needed something more to really get the attention of the kind of employers I was after. I can tell you that the case study and subsequent portfolio piece presentation I did on our product Podball was key to helping me impress during interviews and ultimately helped me land my new full-time role as Web Designer at an established marketing tech company. If I have any complaints, it's that I wish Co.Lab had been around when I was fresh out of my bootcamp!
