AI + Fullstack Engineering

I chose this bootcamp due to the amazing reviews, and it did not disappoint! I learned so much at Actualize and I feel very prepared for my upcoming job search. The class sizes are relatively small (I had 8 students in my cohort, including myself), so the instructor and TA's are able to answer any and all questions that you may have, at any point. I would highly recommend Actualize to anyone who is seeking to switch careers to software development!

I just finished my cohort and my first feeling is that it was a great program and I don't have any regrets. The pre-work was perfect for a total beginner and I felt comfortable when we started the live lessons. Starting with Ruby and its simple syntax helped gain confidence as we compiled more and more into the lessons. Outside practice is KEY for skill development. Where the course fell short for me was the introduction of ReactJS. So much time spent on Ruby and we flew through React and just kept barreling through. I understand we spent less time on React than Ruby but  I  feel that the lesson structure wasn't as strong as the beginning. My classmates and myself were completely lost at times. I started this cohort already having a sales position and was transitioning  to a tech position within the same company so I wasn't looking for a job. The job hacking had a lot of useful information and deff important topics to discuss. However I feel it took up too much time some weeks and we could have condensed a lot of it and used the extra time for more JS or SQL. We had a lot of independent study time in the beginning and that to me was a little bit of a waste. We barreled through so many topics on the back half of the cohort that we should have used the time together in class better. I can do independent study for free after class. I shouldn't be paying for it.Overall I think my teacher Amanda was great. Super patient and always good for a laugh. I'm happy I picked Actualize and would recommend it to anyone interested in coding. I will add I think all bootcamps are a bit overpriced and this fits in that as well. 

I chose Actualize because I knew I wanted to learn coding from professionally trained educators. I am so glad I chose Actualize for my bootcamp experience because the learning environment, curriculum and quality instruction was unparalleled!! I am actually sad that the bootcamp is over and will really miss my instructor and peers who I have developed a bond with over the past 3 months. I joined this bootcamp with no prior tech experience, and now through this course, I have gained a solid foundation of web development skills and feel empowered to make a career change into tech. I also really appreciate the job-hacking curriculum, resources and support services available for students even after graduation, as well as their tech mentorship program and networking Slack channel for graduates. Lastly, I really appreciate that Actualize values DEI and my instructor actively upheld an inclusive space. As someone in the LGBTQ+ community I felt comfortable and celebrated here as my authentic self. Look no further if you are considering pursuing a coding bootcamp. 

Actualize provided a great structure that not only taught you the necessary skills for web development but also taught you how to learn. It prepares you very well to take on new challenges and to continue learning new technologies after the program is over. The support system was what made me pick actualize and it didn't disappoint. The cohorts are small the instructor and TAs were incredibly helpful and attentive to your learning needs.

The materials on their website had a sense of humor I responded to
I was able to set up a financing plan
The curriculum includes Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, React, and jobhunting skills/resources
The schedule fit my schedule (11am-4pm Central Time Monday through Friday)

I came into the class with some technical background and still found the experience educational and worthwhile. I'm leaving the class with a bunch of ideas on things I want to build, things I want to try out, and the confidence to tackle new subjects/languages that I probably would not have tried exploring if left to my own devices.

I chose Actualize.co, based on how friendly, availible & welcoming the admissions staff were. It was the best experience & I greatly appreciated the constant encouragement from staff.I'd recommend it to everyone.

I didn't want to spend any more time working odd hours away from my family, so I did something. I decide that now was the time to change gears and change my mindset. Love the focus on the fundamentals of coding and the best practices to ensure you get a job.  The resources they organize and provide are fantastic and their instructors are great. Enrolling in this course was one of the more difficult decisions I made in terms of my career. However, it is one that I believe will end up being my most rewarding.  Thank You Katherine Evans!

Actualize Bootcamp is hands down the best program I have been apart of! Katherine was the best instructor and really helped you understand topics that were confusing to learn at first.  During the bootcamp, the instructors are available every day of the week to meet with you. Not only are the instructors smart and can help you with any problem you're having, but they do  a great job supporting you along the way. Post graduation, the career advisors (shoutout to Lisa) really care about you and finding you a job. They not only continue to meet with you every week at no extra cost but they provide you with amazing resources such as tech mentors, free online courses, and a ton of documents! If your thinking about going to a bootcamp, I would highly consider Actualize!

I interviewed with a lot of coding bootcamps and Actualize was the only one that didn't feel like a people mill. They actually invest you beyond class hours. Every single one. Instructors and Career Advisors. My teacher, Katherine, was nothing short of amazing. Even the CEO was available to me to ask questions! and class sizes were kept small(less than 8 to a teacher). What other school could you attend with this kind of individualized care? 

Last year, I spent a good amount of time on this website researching bootcamps. The reviews for Actualize influenced my decision to attend, as I read all of the encouraging testimonials of former students. Now that I completed the bootcamp, I wanted to add my voice to the chorus of positive reviews. 
While the program was definitely challenging, the payoff was more than worth it. As someone with no prior experience in the field, I went into the bootcamp feeling a bit overwhelmed. However, my instructor Peter did a great job of not only breaking down the material, but also making sure that my cohort didn’t lose sight of the bigger picture by getting bogged down by the frustrations that come with the learning a new topic. He genuinely cared about our growth and was always available to answer our questions.
Actualize’s career support is also amazing. Lisa and Sarah are fantastic and are there to help you every step of the way, even after the bootcamp ends.  
Overall, my experience with Actualize was wonderful. They don’t just teach you how to code-they teach you how to think critically and approach learning a new programming language or framework with a problem-solving mindset. 
If you are reading this right now, as I was a year ago, sitting on the fence about a few different bootcamps, not sure which one to choose…know that there are a lot of us on the other side, grateful for our decision to attend Actualize. 

I went into the bootcamp knowing only what I was able to teach myself a few weeks prior and I was a it intimidated by that fact. The pre-work they have for you before actual classes start was perfect to get me started and I never felt like I was drowning. Then the actual bootcamp was exactly what I wanted! I learned lots of really great skills but the most important skill I feel like I picked up was the ability to teach myself. Even before the end of the bootcamp I was able to start teaching myself another language and make an app with it. No regrets about my choice at all.

I think the most important thing I can share about this course is that everyone I've met with cares deeply about your success. While not the most intense of a curriculum you could find, it was thorough and I feel prepared for the job search to come. I do strongly recommend coming in with some sort of knowledge about algorithms and basic computer science but it is not necessary, just my opinion.

Actualize really puts the emphasis on learning how to learn. Not only do they teach you the fundamentals of coding + they really teach you how to go about solving problems when you run into them. The course really makes you believe in yourself, and the instructors do too. My instructor Joey Harbert was BEYOND amazing! He is such an amazing teacher that really knows the in's and out's of ruby on rails, react, javascript, and the countless other topics we go over. The job program that they have dubbed "job hacking" is so great. Sarah Kercher who lead the job hacking program for my cohort was so great. She is really invested to help you find a job and it shows when she meets with you. You go over plans on how you're going to continue your coding career after bootcamp and she gives you tips and pointers on the best practices for making your resume. The only complaint I have about actualize is that it isn't longer! Im so sad that my time here is coming to an end and id 100% do it all over again if given the chance! I cant say enough good things about Actualize. If you were on the fence about it before, just read the 100's of good reviews left about this place. They're NOT LYING! I loved that the course had live instruction in the online classroom. It made the learning experience so much better and thorough to be able to ask questions as we went along. The course also does a great job having you do exercises along the way that really drive home the knowledge and allow you retain the information and skills.

I took this course from dec-mar. Every interaction was just great. I definitely feel confident in finding a job now with the skills I have learned. They provide a job search coach you can meet with weekly after the boot camp if wanted. As well as a tech mentor coach you can meet with every week/every other week post boot camp to help you with projects and any insight. They taught me the need to know frameworks for the job market, and I couldn't be happier.

I loved every second of this boot camp. The program itself is very hands-on and you learn a lot of valuable information. The people that you meet here are what really make this program worthwhile. Everyone here is so supportive and is just an amazing software-developing community that you can count on. They put a lot of emphasis on not just technical skills but also your well-being. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and a great way to kickstart your coding skills.

There truly isn't a better course for anyone looking for a software bootcamp! There is so much support from the beginning through your job search and beyond. Live instruction, amazing teachers and TA's, great career coaches, the list goes on and on. If you are at all considering a bootcamp, talk to Actualize. 

A very small class size for almost one-on-one teaching and collaborating gave me the ability to learn and understand very hard concepts relatively quickly. Most importantly I was trained in the art of learning. By the time the course was over I could teach myself skills and find the resources to expand my knowledge base. The course pre-work took me from knowing nothing about writing code to being able to write difficult code in less than a month. My instructor, Peter, is tremendously smart and engaging. All of the staff is incredibly personable and the job assistance is top notch. The course ends in 12 weeks, but you have indefinite access to everything you learned and all the resources within. Highly recommend bootcamp.

My experience at Actualize Coding Bootcamp was exceptional and unlike any other educational experience I have had in the past. Initially, I was hesitant about attending an online bootcamp, as I had concerns about the quality of education I would receive. However, my concerns were quickly dispelled after a conversation with Peter, the Dean of Instruction at Actualize. Peter's willingness to address my technical questions demonstrated the school's dedication to the success and satisfaction of their students. Furthermore, the school provided detailed information about the curriculum, tech stack, and class schedules, including a breakdown of the daily structure.I was impressed with the level of support provided by Actualize both before, during, and after the bootcamp. Peter, who served as my instructor, was effective in his teaching approach and made the material easy to understand. Additionally, Lisa, the career counselor, was instrumental in my success throughout the course.Overall, Actualize left a lifelong impression on me, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn web development through their program. I highly recommend this course to anyone seeking to develop their web development skills.
